Anyway, the day started late, after 1pm actually. The luxury of no kids and hubby being self-employed. We took the car and went for lunch. We planned to renew hubby’s motorbike’s insurance and road tax after that but upon talking about it over lunch we decided to take the bike instead coz we needed to park the car very far from the insurance place and me no like that.
So we head on home, grabbed motorbike’s keys and helmet and off we went again. After getting the insurance, we rode on to JPJ to renew the bike’s RM2.00 road tax (ah life is wonderful) and my driving licence. We reached JPJ around 3.30pm and would you believe they ran out of queue numbers to renew driving licence! Boy, was I pissed coz now I got to renew at the post office. However hubby got his road tax done and off we went to Al-Rajhi bank next to get a savings account done to transfer my paypal earnings. Wohooo, I will get to spend my money soon!..but little did I know my withdrawal got to wait a few more days lahh… you can read about my little adventure here.
All in all, a day well spent.
Oh by the way.. Happy Birthday Shan!!…

How often do you call your mom? I call mine every other day using my, coz it’s cheaper lah, whenever she’s home that is. My mom is one of those independent ladies that will just up and go whenever she feels like it. Being alone helped I guess, coz she does not need to answer to anyone since my dad passed away in 1992. She’s my best friend, she’s my pillar of strength and she’s my mom. I will never stop being proud of her. Despite not having any formal education, she’s holding her head up high in a society of literate people.
Speaking of calling, have you heard of this website that carries 459 different phone cards from all major vendors for users to choose from? The site is like a shopping mall for phone cards. The best is you get to buy it online. Too bad though they don’t carry top-up cards for our local carriers. Oh well…

He said my biscuits were too hard
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn’t prepare the coffee right
He didn’t like the stew,
I didn’t mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Isn’t there anything I could do
To match his mothers shoe
Then I smiled as I saw the light
One thing I could definitely do
I turned around and slapped him tight…
Like his mother used to do!!!!!
I have a lover few lovers.

Two weeks passed by and yet no viewing by potential home buyers were arranged. We were a bit disturbed by this as we knew our area was a “hot and wanted” spot in Singapore and at least ONE viewing was the least we expected after two weeks of marketing. After the third week, I called the agent up and it seemed the agent was only going to show the unit to potential buyers that was willing to pay the price that we wanted. I was infuriated. I mean, our price was always negotiable. I was beginning to wonder who trained this agent? And what was worse, we signed an exclusive with the company that she represented for three months! At the rate she was going we would never sell my house.
To make a long story short and to also spare you the heartache that both me and my mom suffered, suffice to say, she did not sell the unit for us. We waited till the exclusive contract ended, and found another agent that managed to sell the unit in two weeks time. Yes, we did not get the price we wanted but it was good enough an offer to accept.

2007 was a year to be thankful for. Thankful for all the graces of Allah to me and my family. For the blogging friends that I’ve made and for the paypal account that is getting fat daily ;). It was a year of hope as well. Hope for recovery of Mufasa and Nina. Hope for Byte and Lornie that were not meant to be and hope for a miracle that has yet to happen. 2007 for me means Being Thankful and Hopeful – LadyJava
As I count my blessings, I am amazed at God’s kindness to my family. We have so much time to be together as a family in 2007, meet some old friends and family, start blogging and make new friends, and even given a chance to meet 2 blog buddies personally. We also visit some great places and have the best holidays we’ve ever had. Clay and Cliff are healthy, hubby and me has been given some opportunities to serve Him in some ministries. Thank God for everything, more than words can say, I have received and enjoyed His grace abundantly. ~ Trinity from Rooms of My Heart

After that hubby and his partner had a meeting at Putrajaya and I tagged along since I’ve not been there before. The meeting ran on for about two hours and after that we sort of took a slow ride around PutraJaya. Wow, this place is so clean and so well planned – and the buildings are all so nice! These are some pictures I took with hubby’s camera phone as we were driving thru…hehehehe.. enjoy!

Anyway we decided to send the car for repair (a long over-due process). Seriously it’s not our fault but rather the mechanics fault. You see, our car is a Citroen and being a continental car, not many mechanics would know or even want to repair it. So we’ve been sending it to this place over in Ampang and this fella keep saying that he can’t find the part that we needed to replace. And because of that we don’t dare to drive the car over a long distance because the engine will overheat and you know what happens to the engine when it gets overheated right?
Recently though hubby found out about this place near Batu Caves (thank you AAM) that specialised in repairing continental car like Citroen and Renault. Now this fella said “yeap sir, we have the part, you want first hand or second hand?”…We both looked at each other and like “What? Got option some more!”
So anyway, we got the part replaced today and changed the air-con something (don’t know what’s its called..hehe)… filled in some aircon gas and we are good to go!
However, when hubby was doing the aircon thing over at Melawati, I sneaked next door to the RM1.99 shop. OMG! I’m in heaven. Everything’s at RM1.99.. Crazy!.. I ended up buying items which cost me close to RM50 and am now too embarrased to show them to you..lolzz.. I don’t have disclipine, I tell you!
Overall good but tiring day.. even got hubby’s paperwork in order for the government’s official visit tomorrow or today lah.. it’s already 12th December right??!…lolzz

It was especially great as I had the opportunity to meet up with a cousin of mine with whom I spent countless board games with when I was growing up. You know the likes of Scrabble, Monopoly and Checkers. It was fun reminiscing those good old days when we will squabble over who owns what and double score words. One game, however, that we never really played was BackGammon and upon spying one on her son’s shelf, we decided to give it a try. We did not know where to start but I remembered an online site that I’ve chanced upon before, that explained the rules and tips on how to play the game right. So after introducing her to all my blogs (hehe), we proceeded to the online backgammon site.
We both found the site useful and very informative. Like I said before, the site helped us to understand the game better and guess what, we found out that besides being able to download the game to play it offline, you can even earn money from this site by playing the game online.
So after spending some time at the site and feeling confident about the game, we proceeded with playing the game offline first. We messed up a bit but most importantly we both had the time of our life.
Now that I’m back home, this backgammon online site is definitely worth a revisit…join me??

All of us will grow old someday. This is a reality that none of us can dispute and run away from. It lurks in the future reminding us that it’s there and its happening whether we like it or not. That our body will grow weak, we will not be as strong as before and we will be dependent on the children to do the things that we once were able to do. Just like what we are doing now for our parents.
Somehow sometimes that is not the case. A lot of kids nowadays are “washing” their hands off their parents the moment they get married or are too busy to care for them. Their parents are considered a burden that needed to be looked after until their last breath. That is why in certain places of the world, parents are given the opportunity to claim “parents support” from their kids. Yet, because these parents are so understanding, they refuse to even take advantage of the system that was designed to give them a better old age. Such is a parent love.
Although I would never consider sending my mom to any nursing homes, I believe it is the better alternative than leaving an aged and sickly parent home alone to take care of themselves. At least there, they would be taken care of professionals that is especially trained to take care of the aged.
What do you think? Is it the better choice?
So far, the two years that we’ve been living here, we had to go water-less two times. I’ve blogged about it once before and the most recent happened tonight. We just got home from my IL’s anniversary dinner and it was too hot to shower, so we both thought we rest a while cooling down with a cup of hot cocoa (special offer going on – the brand “Super” has Cocoa with Tongkat Ali and Misai Kucing and with every pack you get a free umbrella. The pack only worth RM12.90 – but I digress).
Anyway, when we were in the lift, we heard this “waterfall” sound and upon reaching our floor, we peeped down from the corridor and noticed that the third floor was basically flooded. We thought nothing of it until around 10pm when we heard the “waterfall” stopped. Again, we thought it was nothing until I decided it was time for shower and went to kitchen to place my mug at the sink, turned on the tap and “Arghhhh!!!”…. NO WATER!!!.. Then only we sort of put two and two together and figured someone must have called the maintenance people and they must have shut down the supply to fix the problem – hence the “waterfall” stop. We found out later that the culprit was a water pipe that had burst.
To make a long story short, we were waterless from 10pm to 1am (although it seemed like eternity). After hubby’s short talk with the maintenance man, I also found that our water supply had to travel from the topmost floor down to the ground floor and then travel back up again to whichever floor is calling. Weird right? I thought it would travel from the tank straight to the requesting pipe outlet. Oh well, you learn something new everyday!..lolz..
The water supply still comes in squirts now and sometimes it’s cloudy and dark, so I’m postponing my shower for a few more hours I guess, while hubby calls me “his assam girl” – translated to mean… “sour girl??” heheehh…

Throughout the years then, that skill was taken for granted. It became automatic like breathing and eating. However, one thing that came out of it was, the faster you type and the faster you think, the more spelling error you make. I tend to miss out in between words. I also tend to misspell “the” and “and”.
I found I was not alone. A few blogger friends of mine have the “problem” as well.. Just take a look at this screencapture..
If that don’t deserve an award, I don’t know what does…hehehhe, ..where before I awarded it to GK for the Best Male Speller Award, this time the winner for the Best Female Speller Award goes to…
Come up here girl and claim this wonderful award for your MAD SPELLING SKILL…heheheh
