Wow! What a tiring day!

I had quite an early nite yesterday but still I woke up feeling sleepy at 9am this morning. Maybe it was because of my disturbed sleep coz of the early nature call at 6am! Ever since my operation, I can hardly hold on to anything these days..lolzzz..

Anyway, went to hubs office today to finish off the company’s account that is due for submission to the auditors firm in February. It was my first day there since the operation and all that long sitting is now giving me a blinking backache. What’s worst is hubby can’t give me a back massage as I can’t lie on my tummy yet! Ouchhhhh!!!

I guess he can massage me while I’m sitting..hehehehe…

Can you believe we just got home 10minutes ago coz hubby just got news he got the big project and all needs to be completed by Chinese New Year! Yikes, when it rains, it pours, I guess!

Ok, off to the shower and then straight a bed. Got an early day tomorrow again! Got to accompany hubby to the mechanic once again to repair his car aircon. Nite-nite folks

What is it with women and the weighting machine? I woke up early today and decided to weigh myself. Who know? After my surgery and the removal of those three alien things, I might weigh lighter! Lolzz… What a bunch of crab but hey I won’t know until I get on that darn weighing machine. My hubby keeps saying this weight problem of mine is just imaginary and that all I need to do is tone up but darling, scales don’t lie!

So the moment of truce. I got on the scale and OMG! I gained one kilo! How did that happened?? Arghhhh!!! If not for the fact I am done with laparoscopic procedure for the time being, I might just consider getting one of those lap-band procedure. Dr. Richard Collier sure has done lots of these procedure before and for those of you that are interested, there’s a free seminar on the topic in February. Too bad I’m not in the area otherwise I would not miss it for the world.

Oh no! Not another meme! Lolz.. but I kinda like this easy tag from Ratu Syura, something different I thought and what a great way to get to know new sites as well. So here goes:

Rule #1

Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an “A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

1. A. acowboyswife.com
2. B.

Replaced link: http://ladylike4.com/
Previous tagger: http://ratusyura.blogspot.com/

Rule #2

You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community. TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system.

I’m tagging GP, Juliana, Melody, Keeyit and Emily for this one! Have fun!

What is it with doctors and appointments? They say to call for appointment and then we come on the appointed date and time, it’s pretty much a two hour wait. Or is it only with the popular doctors only?

You might be wondering what I am ranting about. Well I had an appointment with my gynae today for my three weeks visit after my surgery (fast eh?) at 2.40pm. I purposely asked for an afternoon appointment coz the last time I had an appointment with her at 11.20am, I ended up going for lunch, coming back from lunch and waited again till 3.30pm! A whole day wasted!

Anyway I thought I play it smart this time and requested for a time after lunch and 2.40pm was given to me. I arrived on time and there was like seven patient in front of me. You know what time I eventually went in to see my gynae? 4.30pm! Can you believe that!

Is this the norm at any specialist clinic especially the obstetrician and gynecologist department? What does appointment mean then if you have to wait like two hours to see your doctor?

Anyway, my gynae said everything is healing very well and after the biopsy of the fibroid, they found nothing cancerous or anything, so that is a big relief. Oh I also got some analysis of the fibroid like its size and a picture of it out of the bottle if anyone is interested to see it.

What is the first thing I grab and the last thing I let go off every day? Ok! Times up!

Jeng, Jeng, Jeng…

It’s my glasses! Anyone got that right? Hehehe. I am blind as a bat without them so if you want to be my enemy, play with glasses and you’ll have a sworn avenger on your hands!..hehehehe

But seriously folks, I really can’t see a thing without them. I tried contacts before when I was junior college but I ended up having conjunctivitis instead. Something about protein residue or something and it got so bad that I was given medical leave because of that. It was not that I love school so much but it was my “A’ Level’s year and I can’t afford to not attend any more lectures if you know what I mean.

Anyway, back then, glasses were glasses. No style you know. As I look back at all my old photograph, I wondered how I ever let myself out of the house.lolzz..plus they were so expensive. My prescription was pretty high, so I had to use those special kind of lenses that was super high index to make sure the lenses were not too thick, plus multi-coated and ultraviolet screen lenses. That came to a very hefty sum. I remembered I had this super fragile frame one time and when I was taking off my pullover, my glasses got caught and fell to the ground! Oh man, what heartpain, coz one of the lenses shattered to pieces. That replacement alone cost me S$200 for one side!

Nowadays, glasses are so economical if not really cheap. I stumbled upon Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses today and just like it says, the frame plus the lenses are really going at $8. There were a few stylish design that really caught my fancy and am really itching to get them.

I will definitely put this site as one my Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical and one of my Great Discovery: Zenni Optical of 2008

What do you think of my selection:

I am so loving my life right now. I am, even as I am typing this, just waiting for Nigella’s Feast to come on again after an advertisement. Yes friends, I am in front of the tv with Miss Fly, using my LAN wireless connection.

Yeay!!! I now, don’t need to be stuck in my home office anymore. I can surf the net from anywhere at home.

We’ve always have shared internet connection before so that means even with one Streamyx line, me on my computer and hubby on his PC called “Skull“, can surf simultaneous using our home network system. But it was always wired connection so we always needed to be in the home office and it was fine with both of us.

Then, Miss Fly came into the picture and has an in-built wireless lan networking capability, so hubbs, being the Dukun Digital, bought a wireless router, hooked it up to the modem and presto, I am really mobile. I can even blog while I’m doing my “business” if I wanted to! Lolzzz… Awesome or what!

Thank you hubbs for making life soo fantastically easy and for spoiling me rotten…hehehe

I had the shock of my life today when I exchanged email with a friend of mine in Singapore over my fibroid adventure.

She told me that she had a cyst removed from her left ovary last year as well. It seemed she was having very bad pain around the stomach area first and the next day, the pain spread to the right. She was unable to even stand up on her own and needed to be wheeled into the A&E unit of the hospital.

The doctor suspected it was her appendix and operated on her. However she was still experiencing the same pain on her left side after the operation and when her doctor came in to check up on her, she told him about it. It seemed that although her appendix was inflamed at the time of the surgery, it was only about 4.5cm which was not really that bad to warrant a surgery.

They did an ultra scan after that and found a cyst in her left ovary. She then had to go back to her gynae and he was appalled that the hospital did not do a scan before they operated. It had been a wrong operation! They should have removed the cyst but instead they removed her appendix.

So she had to go through another surgery and all within one week. The poor dear got to be hospitalized for two weeks for the two operations.

Can you believe this happened in Singapore? The doctor’s must have had too much to drink that night or something. Simply crazy!

Anyway “L”, hopefully everything is alright now and I guess thank God they removed something that is not needed by the body anyway. It could have been worst! Love ya!

I saw this test over at Trinity’s blog and thought how wonderful to know what my name means.. so here goes:

What I***u Means

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are usually the best at everything … you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic “Type A” personality.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you’re too busy having fun to care.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you’re so lucky, you don’t really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You’re sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

Conclusion: Some truths and half truths here

  • I do finish my projects (sometimes).
  • I am stubborn and headstrong.
  • I try to be the best at everything I do.
  • I am obsessively organized. I have compartments and containers for everything!
  • I am married!
  • I am lucky!

Wouldn’t you want to know what your name means??

You are Garfield: You are very comfortable, easy going, and you definitely know how to have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. I was over at Emila’s blog earlier on and saw the handphone pouch that she knitted. Really awesome Emila. Well done.

I remember a long long long time ago, I used to crochet, knit and sew! I would knit even when I was in public transportation. Such was passion coz I reckon in the end it would have been cheaper to just buy the end product. But “Nooo” I love creating things and when I put on the blouse for instance, it makes me feel proud that I am wearing something one of a kind.

Hmm I can’t find any picture of any of the things I’ve sewn (probably in Singapore lah). Anyway, just thought I share with you some of my handiwork…

Before Miss Fly came into my life, I was PC hopping from my hubby’s desktop to hubby’s laptop and to the office pc. My data was all over the place. That include pictures and videos and some are very private ones mind you. I always make sure I have them copied to my flash drive and delete those pictures but being human, sometimes I forget.

That’s why I’m so excited when I stumbled upon this site that offers a way for me to hide files of my private photos. You might ask ask how is it better than password-protected zip files. Well this software is much more convenient and secure. You can bet I will use it for Miss Fly too coz you’ll never know what eyes might be prying!

I just got to share this with my women readers.. And they say women never listens eh?… hahaha!

A man and his wife receive a letter from their daughter who went to study overseas:

My beloved Parents, I miss you so much. I don’t know when I’m coming home, but it seems not anytime soon. It breaks my heart to think that by the time I get back you’ll be too old. So enclosed you will find a bottle of a potion I have invented. It will make you young, so when I return you’ll be the same age as I left you.

NOTE: “Please take only one drop”

So they open the envelope and in it there is a bottle with a red potion.. The husband looks at the wife and says: “You go first.”

So the wife opens the bottle and takes a drop, there after the husband follows. Indeed they do turn 5 years younger.

A few years passes and the daughter returns home to find her mother young and beautiful, carrying a baby on her back. The mother proceeds to tell her daughter how the potion worked and made her look young.

The daughter is delighted and asks about her father.

“Your father, my child, got so jealous that I was young and beautiful so he drank the whole bottle.”

“So where is he?” the daughter asked

“Oh, that’s him I have on my back.”

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Back when I was in school, I remember how Valentine’s day was such a big deal. Boys would save up to buy flowers for their girlfriends and girls without boyfriends would make a deal to buy flowers for each other just so they could carry around stalks of roses that day. Luckily I was never one of those girls. Not because I had a boyfriend but because I did not really believe in valentine’s day. I mean, everyday should be a “love’ day rite?

Then when I had my first boyfriend, we decided that Valentine’s day would be every day for us. I must admit that it was kind of nice to receive flowers even without any special occasions. So we continued not celebrating Valentine’s day and just had fun looking at those couples that did.

Now I’m married and hubs share the same sentiments. Every day is made for loving. Everyday is a cause for celebration and we can celebrate it any way we want.

So why wait for one special day to express your love when each day can be 14th February!

Do you know what I have been eating ever since I’m recuperating? I have to take care of what I eat. For example, I can’t eat any seafood like prawns, squid and cockles for fear that the wound would itch as it heals. I got to stay away from certain fruits for fear of too much acid in the tummy and I got to take some tonic that I don’t really enjoy just because it’s good for healing.

Luckily for me though, I’m still able to have my chicken. What can I say? I love chicken and you have to admit it is healthier than beef or mutton. Plus chicken is so easy to prepare and cook. You can fry it, you can easily marinate and roast it or even grill it just like El Pollo Loco’s Mexican chicken. Yummy!

By the way, you can view funny videos about El Pollo Loco’s Grill chicken over at the website.

How do you slow down when your body feels fine? How you not do any work when you feel ok? That is how I feel right now. It’s about two weeks now since my surgery and I feel great. My wound is healing nicely and the tautness that I used to feel surrounding the area is gone. Except for the slight discomfort when I sneeze, cough or laugh, I am able to do most work that I used to do before my surgery.

Not if mommy dearest has anything to say and do about it. Just today, she called me after seeing my online picture of my fibroids and asked what I was doing. I told her I was frying chicken and she goes “are you doing work?”. I went like “ya”.

I know she means well and she cares and she keeps telling me that on the outside the wound might look like it has healed but inside it is still healing. I understand that but I got to eat mommy…lolzzz….

It’s ok mommy love, hubbs is taking good care of me but I am ok and I still need to move about, my bum is still numb from sitting and lying in bed all week last week.

Recuperating is so difficult…

I remembered when I was “dating” my boyfriend (my hubby now), how expensive it was to make phone calls. SMS or texting was an alien term and webcam was a futuristic tool. So for sure we were both making the telecommunication company and the airline rich! lolzz..

If only there were such company like iconnecthere dot com then. From what I read at their website they are now offering Unlimited Calling Plan worldwide. For just a small amount of $29.99 per month, I get unlimited calls to any destination I like which means I can call mommy for as long as I want! The first month subscription is also free because as a new customer, you’ll get $30 when you sign up although this is for a limited time only.

Keeping your discipline when shopping is never easy. A friend of mine just don’t have enough of it. I got a phone call early yesterday morning from J. She sounded frantic and she was talking in circles. Once I calmed her down she told me that her finances are in chaos and her debtors are out to get her. It seemed my dear friend has multiple credit cards and had gone on a shopping spree last Christmas and now she can’t afford to even pay the monthly minimum.

Hmm.. time for some serious intervention. I advised her to get a personal loan immediately so that she can pay whatever amount is outstanding on all her cards to avoid any unnecessary interest. This way she now need to pay only one creditor and as personal loan carries a lower interest rate, she can save from that as well. I then advise her on the evil of credit cards! ( me older than her, so lots of experience in that department..lolz). I also told her to use caution the next time she uses any credit card and make sure she always pays the amount immediately. It’s just too bad that once you are declared a bankrupt here and has bad credit rating, no one will offer you any loan whatsoever unlike if you are in the States and are able to secure a loan even with bad credit. They even have a website that list down financial institutions that offers such individual bad credit loans!

Oh well.. I hope she heeds my advice and take this experience seriously before splurging again. You hear me J???

First they jacked up the prices, then they change all the channels to three digits which personally drive me nuts. Now they re-classify some of the channels to different categories which literally mean you have to subscribe to view those channels now.

Yeap! I am talking about Astro!. As much as I love their prompt services and the fact that because of them I have lots more channels to choose from, I can’t help but think they are manipulating us just because they are the only provider so far.

My grievance? Well, yesterday night, hubby was all set to watch his channel 734. I think it was the program Fifth Gear or The OCC when he called out to me saying that the channel is not in our subscription. I went like “huh?”. We were just watching three or four hours ago.

All the other channels worked well so I know it’s not because we forgotten to pay the bill or something. So I surfed to their website and lo and behold, found out that now channel 731 to 734 are now classified as “Metro” channel and you can subscribe it now at RM14.95 monthly. WTF!

Oh well, that’s what we call monopoly right?… Life goes on!!

I hate lizards. I say it again. I hate lizards! And cockroach and ants and other pest that makes life miserable. Just today for instance, while pouring a fresh new packet of sugar into a container, I noticed ants. Yeap! Ants in my unopened brand new sugar packet. What is a lady to do?? I had to scoop them out bit by bit lah.. There goes thirty minutes of my life :(

Lucky for me, there isn’t any scorpion around or something here in the apartment. However, I heard that in the Phoenix area, the bark scorpion, the most dangerous type of scorpion can be found in house dwellings. Luckily a Phoenix scorpion exterminator is just a phone call away. Blue Sky Pest Control has a very successful service plan that works. Their premium service is fully guarantee. So if you are in Phoenix and is having problems with scorpions, why not try their free pest evaluation and get $50 off their Blue Sky Service Plan.

As for me, I’m still fighting with ants. Any suggestion anyone??

Alhamdullilah, after about a week stay at PaMa’s place (my inlaws) after my fibroid surgery, I am finally home. Actually I came home last night. After seeing how strong I was at the supermarket and Low Yatt yesterday – yeap, got my lappy ladies and gentlemen!! :-), all the decision makers in letting me go home decided that I was recovering well and let me go home!… Yahooo!!!…

Felt so good to be home with my kitties, my own bed, my own shower and my own kitchen! That being said, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my abah and mama for taking care of me this past week. Mama for missing her craft lessons, waking up early to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Abah for making sure I had all the nutritional food to eat including the Haruan tonic, Ida for coming over and accompanying me over at the hospital and hubs for just being there, taking care of our house and the kitties. I love you all to bits!!..I would also like to thank my friends who stopped over while I went MIA! Love ya guys too!

It feels good to be home…Home Sweet Home!

Good to be home, although for a short while. Mama and Abah have guests from Japan so they have to meet up with them today and hubby got to go home to feed the cats and since he offered if I wanted to come home with him, I was out the door before he was.. hehehe..

Good to be home. Everything looks the same and yet the kitties somehow looked bigger. Hmm I guess they did not miss me as much as I missed them, although Aggie did want me to carry her. Sorry dearie, mommy can’t bend over yet and you are too heavy for mommy to carry you just yet.

Am going to be around till probably after dusk so that we can feed the kitties their dinner and after all off we go again to PaMa’s place where I would stay till probably Monday..I wonder if I can persuade hubby to go to Low Yatt to go get my laptop.. hmmm….

Oh, in case anyone is interested, I updated my progress at my woman blog, got picture some more..heheh

We were sitting at PaMa’s living room and chit chatting yesterday and hubby wanted to show mama something he downloaded from the internet. As he was reading it, he had to put it at a distance from his face coz he has been “infected” with the “old people eye disease” or long-sightedness..hehehe…

Without realising it, abah saw this and as he walked away to the kitchen, he muttered to hubby, “go get your eyes check for a glasses lah”…..lolzzz… like Malaysian say “Kantoi!”…. or in English it’s just plain old “Caught ya!”..lolzz.

This was very apt as I have been asking him to get his eyes checked every time he complains that he can’t see clearly unless the reading material is at least an arm’s length away and how too bright a light is affecting his vision.

Since I thought that hubby might be too lazy to go to the optician, I have decided to bring the optician to him. I found this website at Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com that offers prescription glasses at economical price. Frame prices range from as low as USD8.00! You can choose from a variety of frames and lenses. Best of all it’s all done online.

Ohh hubby… let’s get that glasses now…..

Ok folks, the reason why I went MIA…jeng jeng jeng…

Exactly one week ago, I admitted myself to a hospital! Relax.. nothing serious. It was supposed to be for a laparoscopic procedure to see the extent of these naughty little fibroids that was growing in my uterus. I blogged about it here. But then according to Dr Fauziah, if the fibroids are extremely big, then she might have to perform an operation as well. As it turned out, the fibroids are big, three of them, and she ended up having to perform surgery. So my overnight stay at Ampang Putri hospital turned to three nights at the maternity ward!

Anyway, I am now recovering nicely at my inlaws and internet is very limited. I plan to return home next Monday but we’ll see what abah and mama got to say about that. My progress would be at my woman blog coz I feel it is more appropriate then. I will even post a picture and video of the lovely fibroids there soon..in case anyone want to know what it is and how it looks like.

Vacuuming is one household chore that I love and not mind doing every single day. I guess all ladies have that. I have a girlfriend that loves washing, another loves to clean toilet and another that loves ironing. Between the four of us we can easily open a maid service. Lolzz..

However, it is not carpet that I vacuum though because there is simply no carpeting allowed in my home coz of the cats – you know how kitties shed daily and I’ve got six of them..lolzz – but I vacuumed my tiled floor. Yeap. you heard me right. I just rolled the vacuum on my tiled flooring and all shedded furs get sucked in. Easy. No sneezing, no fur flying around and best of all I can vacuum Aggie in the process. Heheh.. boy does she loves to be vacuumed.

I always get my vacuum cleaner just off any local supermarket but am always looking for better ones and cheaper ones as well and I just stumbled upon eureka vacuum cleaners. Eureka vacuum cleaners range comes in a host of sizes and designs. One of thing that caught my attention about the eureka vacuum cleaners are their economical price. I change my vacuum cleaner yearly so I don’t normally get expensive ones. Heart pain lah!

Anyway, anyone needs a vacuuming lady?? Lolzzz!

Ok folks, I’ve enjoyed this blogger hack so much that I want to share with you so we all can experience the wonderful world of smileys just like those wordpress blog!..heheh

I was a bit lazy to put up this post but since GP wanted to know how I put links on her comment box, I thought I put in a blog entry and share with everyone.

First thing first, the most common way you can put links in your comments box is by using the good ol’ html code for instance if I want to tag someone and I want that person to go straight to my post i can type:

Note that the http is the url address and the text “see me fly” is my blog entry title. When you post the comment, the result would be a hyper link meaning if the user click on the text, he would be brought to the address you specified.

Ok.. easy enough?

Now this is where the fun begins :) . Have you ever wished you can see that Mr yellow smiley face when you visit blogspot blogs? Well courtesy of this website that I stumbled upon, now we can. Here’s how but you must be using Firefox ok :)

  1. Download a plugin called Grease Monkey. Just click here and you will be brought to the download link. Install Greasemonkey Extension in your Firefox browser.
  2. Click on this link to get your user script.
  3. Install the script.
  4. After a successful installation, you will now see a little monkey icon at your status bar. This is where you can enable and disable the program
  5. Now try commenting on this blog and you will see an amazing tool that makes commenting not only easy but FUN!!
Try it our and let me know what you think! Oh btw, you will also see smileys on OTHER people blogs but NOT yours ok. This is a feel good thing for you but imagine when other people install the plugin yourself… Ahhh smiley heaven!

Opps..I forgot to update you guys on my Paypal transfer to Al-Rajhi bank. As you know I opened an account with the bank on boxing day but was unable to withdraw immediately into the bank account. This was because I needed to get my Expanded Use number from my credit card statement to verify my paypal account. I actually blogged about it at my MMO blog. Anyway, after getting that number and getting the paypal account verified, I did a transfer of USD105 (USD5 being paypal transaction fee) on Friday, 28 December.

Was I surprised when I checked on Monday, 31st December and the money already went through. More details and a screen capture of it here. It took only three days inclusive of the weekend! Super cool. I got RM327.24 for USD100 which is not really a good rate but I guess it’s still ok coz now I can spend the money here in Malaysia. By the way, it normally take five to seven days for the money to be transfered to a bank account in Singapore.

What a fantastic start to the New Year!
