As much as I hate exercise, I somehow or rather enjoy doing it in groups like aerobics classes for instance. One thing about me is when I get obsessed, I get obsessed coz I remember when I was taking aerobics once before I was going for classes three times a week without fail after work. Seeing results even motivated me to go more and within a few weeks I could actually see muscles forming at my biceps. I swear if I were to continue the classes while taking Bodybuilding Supplements (which can now be bought online) at the same time, I would have build quality lean muscle mass and shed unwanted fat and ended up looking like Jojo (you guys might not know her, she was once a big time bodybuilder queen in Singapore, though I think she was charged for using steroids or something).

Anyway, I stopped going to classes because of work commitment and it was such a hassle to rush after work and most times when I did make it, classes were already half way over.

Sigh.. such is life..

Cindi wrote me yesterday to inform me that she had a special award for me to collect and I was pleasantly greeted with the Mommette’s Best WAHM Site Award. Although not a mommy to any human babies, just like GP, I supposed the six kitties counted as well eh.. Thanks so much Cindi. This is really an honour! Isn’t the award so pretty :)

Photobucket

Ok then, since I am posting about awards, GP has recently had her own Awards Gala as well and ever the generous gal that she is, she has give me and a host of other wonderful bloggers, a host of awards as well.. I may need to commission an award shelf just like the one Emila has sengihnampakgigi. But before that I need a moving truck to get all of it to my blog first… so we go….

I would also like to thank Jean, Adrian and Lisa for giving me the awards as well. I’m sorry if I’ve left out your name if you have given me the same awards. It’s just have been so long and I simply can’t remember. I try to be better next time ok kenyit.

And now for the bit I loved the most. I get to share these lovely awards (the one in the lorry only ok) to.. Roxy, Cindi, Debbie, Syura, Natrah, Farah. Lisa, LadyBanana, Juliana, Shirley, Trinity and Shemah! The awards are all ready to go to your designated blogs right now!!

Enjoy and congrats!

Back in Singapore when I was a FTE (full time employee) as the personal assistant to the Vice President or Partners, as they are called now, I had another role that the company assigned to me (like I did not have enough work already), and it was the role of a MIS coordinator. Our company at that time had around 80 staff but we contracted an outside MIS personnel as there was no real need for one at that time. Our main support was coming from Hong Kong and between the contractor, me and Chris (our HK person) we were able to cover all the bases. He comes in twice a week and I would have a list of PCs and laptop for him to work on while I would handle the daily grit of backing up data, network monitoring and making sure that everything run smoothly.

So basically that was how I got to know the technical side of IT, the hardware and networking aspects of it. Everything comes connected in a crunch right? I did not have any proper training or any Cisco certification but sometimes common sense and the university of life does come in handy.

But you know what. I wished I had taken that certification as with it I could have totally switch vocation or have some real training in networking. Not that I did not enjoy being a personal assistant (after all it does have it’s perks) but a backup career and the knowledge such a course would bring would surely have its advantages especially in today’s evolution of the IT world.

I guess it’s not too late to take it up though except I’m too lazy to take up anything nowadays. Too contented with life already I supposed sengihnampakgigi.

STROKE : Remember
The 1st Three Letters….S.T.R.

My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

Seriously… Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) …..she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Ingrid’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital – (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don’t die…. they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this…

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today)

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke ——– Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another ‘sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person to ‘stick’ out his tongue.. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

Let’s save some lifes peeps..Happy Sunday!.

I was just over at Amanda’s blog where she gave a tutorial on how to add a comment form beneath your blog post, something like what wordpress bloggers can do. As much as I would love to have this feature in my blog, I can’t help but miss the pop up comment box where we are able to see smilies, bold, italize and even put links easily without having to remember the html code for it. Those that installed Greasemonkey would know what I am referring to and those that don’t, please do check out my tutorial here. I’ve also noticed that with this new commenting method, commenters are not able to subscribe to the comments so much so that if I were to comment at your blog, I will NOT be notified of any responses from you as there is no option for subscription. I have truly enjoyed this feature as I believe it really encourages interactiveness with my commenters and I will sorely miss it.

Anyhow, it is really great that Blogger is listening to the wants of its members and for that, kudos. I tried this new feature over at my food blog and if you’re interested to see what it looks like just go over ok. Just click comment on any one of the post there and scroll down..

And for those that want to add this new feature to their blog, head on over to Amanda’s blog. She gave a great tutorial. Just note though that the url address for your draft blogger is

Ok now excuse me while I move some of my office furniture around. See you in a bit biggrin

Ask any computer user on what is the most important thing when using the pc and the likely answer is “SPEED”. Everyone wants a FAST computer. Most of Azwaj customers would come to him with very old pc and wants him to revive it back to life. They expect that miraculously that obsolete model would live again once they pay the service charge. Azwaj would try to his best ability of course and sometimes it works and sometimes it don’t. Most that still work are P4 machines that can probably run the OS effectively if the client is willing to consider adding computer RAM.

That being said, Azwaj would also have to see how much RAM the motherboard can accommodate. Newer motherboard can take up more RAM while some older motherboard have only two or three slots available. Next he also got to consider if the type of RAM suits the motherboard as well. After all not all motherboard can use the DDR PC2700 Memory right?

Luckily nowadays memory RAMs are easily found over at Low Yat, where we normally get our supplies from. Recently though, we found Memory Deal, which is a new online memory product that serves to provide customers the exact same RAM modules that OEMs install at the factory. So you will never go wrong matching what you have with your new purchase. They even have RAM for Apple in case you want to Add IMAC Memory and upgrade your system right now.

Their prices are also very competitive. Totally a cool site to check out!

You know what I need? I need a secretary to help me keep track of my dates.. Just on my earlier post, I wrote about forgetting renewal and such but you know what, I actually am losing track of time as well! I really thought today was the 19th instead of the 26th.

I received a reminder via friendster on the 26th that it was my cousin’s, Manis, birthday and I was just leaving comments on her Multiply page and actually sent her an email as well without realising that it was 26th June and it was her birthday! Duh! Duh! Duh!.. and I actually looked at the calendar when that reminder came! OMG! I’m getting old lah!!

So Manis, my dear, my apologies ok… here’s a nice cake for you all the way from KL ok… I hope you had an awesome day!

All of us have been hit by the debt bug one way or another right? If you have not.. well all I can say is I admire your sense of discipline and self-control.

Me, like hundreds or even thousands of my peers, have been hit once or twice too. You know when you just gotten that brand new shiny gold credit card. You spent and splurge on wants and needs like it was your money and each time calculating how much would the minimum payment monthly. And upon calculating that, you decided, heck, I could afford that minimum sum easy, so you spend more and more till you eventually maxed out the credit card even without knowing it. Then at the end of the month, you nearly fainted when you see the bill but then again.. heck, it’s just a couple of hundred dollars anyway and you can still afford that and after all there is that big three months bonus at the end of year! Why not??

So there you were minding your own business, paying the minimum payment, promising yourself that you are not going to touch the card again when another brand new card comes your way. Wow.. this is good luck you say, the Gods are smiling down on you..and went on your shopping spree yet again.. And you know what, before you know it, you can no longer afford the minimum sum for either one card.

Now what am I or you to do?? The only thing to do for me would be to consider some form of debt consolidation programs or Debt Settlement Programs or even Credit Card Debt Consolidation Programs, which was what I did. At least now, I only have to pay one debt and a minimum sum that I can afford and hopefully that is an expensive lesson well learned. After that.. I need to cut those credit card in two..

Sigh..

I’ve always been good with renewal dates for anything. For instance I know that my passport will expire on 23 Dec 2011. I know Azwaj’s motorcycle insurance and road tax will expire on 23 December 2008. I also remember and this is very important, my social visit visa will expire on 16 July 2008. So for the life of me I don’t know how I can forget the renewal date for the car insurance and road tax for Azwaj’s car. Perhaps because we don’t use the car that often or perhaps because I don’t really pay attention to it coz that is the only file that Azwaj hang on to coz of all the repairs that needed to be done to it. Whatever is the reason I totally forgotten, and obviously Azwaj too, about the renewal of the auto insurance. And because of that, we were not able to use the car today to go grocery shopping.. Arghhh!!!

Anyway, since we always go with the same company and their premium is pretty reasonable, there is no need to look for any cheap car insurance or anything like that. I guess we have to do it soon eh.. Luckily the dates for the insurance and the road tax expiration is the same, so no hassle there.. Looks like another busy day for us tomorrow!

I’ve had this huge ulcers since the beginning of the week and now that is healing (I think), it is becoming more painful. It is right smack on the inside of my lips and everytime I talk and my teeth rub against it, my eyes would welled up because of the pain. Even brushing my teeth nowadays is such a challenge. I used to put Bonjela on it but as I noticed the relief is only temporarily, I stopped using it altogether.

I’m going out in a while to go check out some swing sets with my SIL and probably hit the pharmacy to try to get anything to numb the pain. Anyone with any suggestions?

You peeps know how I’m always looking out for nice beautiful templates right? And believe me, they are all over. It is just a matter of finding the right one that you like and that’s matching to your blog’s concept and theme, then it’s just tweaking the template to make it your own, just like what I did here with this template. There are so many talented templates designer around that even blogspot templates nowadays can look professional and unique to the blog owner.

Having said that, I’m still in awe at some of the wordpress templates I’ve seen around and I dare say I found some of the best wordpress themes today at topwpthemes dot com while searching for new potential templates for this blog. After all I had this theme going on for some time now. Anyway, check out the templates below and see how beautiful they are. I mean I can totally work with it if my blog was on wordpress platform that is.

Oh well, another time perhaps. but for you guys out there who are on wordpress, check it out ok..I’m sure you’ll find one that suit your fancy there! Also if installation is a problem, don’t worry the site even helps you with that :)

Me and Azwaj have been so pre-occupied lately with Prison Break 1 and 2. I know, I know, we are kinda late following the series but better late than never right. And we loved it. Right now still downloading PB3 so it’s like we are waiting on pins and needles to know what is in store for us.

And you know what.. I absolutely adore Wentworth Miller, or that Michael… I was telling Azwaj how drawing he is.. I feel so drawn whenever I look into his eyes.. I did some research and you know, what he is like a mixed “Rojak”. He is London born-Brooklyn raised and is part African-American, Jamaican, English, German, French, Dutch, Syrian, and Lebanese. Talk about mixed heritage. No wonder he looks so unique! And those eyes.. what about those eyes!! I could swim in them!

Quick, is there like a telemarketing list or a direct mailing list that I could get on to get updates on this guy. Do you know he was chosen as one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive for 2007 and I don’t dispute that for a second. Hurry up anyone with that telemarketing lists already.. hehehe

Have a great weekend peeps!

I have been dropping my EC’s card like mad recently. I have six entrecards currently and so far have managed to do my 300 drops daily for three of my blogs.. My goal is to do the max for LJL and LLP daily and do one more round for either one of the remaining ones. I don’t think I would be able to drop all six cards in one day.. that would be too much work, and where’s the fun in that then right?

I’ve also recently installed Opera, the browser, and that somehow have made dropping much faster. Azwaj says the reason why my firefox is taking so much time to load pages is because of all the plugins I’ve installed (and the internet connection as well) so I’m keeping Opera VERY clean, just the basic!

Ok folks, catch you in a while, I want to watch Azwaj installed this KVM switch that he bought for his two PCs.. He said now, with the switch he won’t need two monitors, two keyboards and two mouses (or is it Mice? gelakguling) to control the two PCs. Now that I got to see!

I love Azwaj’s car. I really do. Recently though, it’s been giving us more headache than joy. First it was the aircon. When he got that fixed, the petrol hose (I think) leaked and seeing how with RM50 can now only purchase 18litres of petrol, he figured, better get that repaired immediately. Now it’s something else. It would make lots of noise when he press the brakes. At first Azwaj thought it just meant that the brakes were dirty but upon further prying, he realized that it was the brake pad (I think that’s what he said) that needed replacing! Oh dear, insurance and road tax are also due soon.

Sometimes I think it’s really not worth having a car. After all, we hardly use it and we both enjoy the motorbike rides more. It’s faster and definitely cheaper, though it now cost RM12 on a full tank when before it was only RM6! Perhaps it would be just easier to hire a car as and when we need to, you know like public holidays. I can also search for the best car hire deals from CarRentals.co.uk. If they can find Car hire malaga, car hire Las Vegas and car hire Italy, perhaps they can find car hire Malaysia? Plus, if they can find the cheapest one, all the better I say.

Since we are typing our words, I figured I better share this with you peeps. Don’t want anyone to get CTS!

After every hour of typing, take a five minute break. During that break, put your palms together as if you were going to pray. Then, slowly flex your hands left and right for 30 seconds. Next, invert your hands so that the backs of your hands are pressed together and your fingers are pointing downwards. Gently press your hands together. Repeat these exercises after every hour of typing.

I used to have this funky looking keyboard at work. At first it really needed getting used to but after I was used to it, I needed to get used to the traditional one.

No one wanted to use my terminal as they “can’t” type on it which was fine by me. Those consultants love to sit at my secretarial terminal for some reason!

I’m not sure if it is my internet connection or if it is GMail but whatever it was, it is causing me much frustration and needless hair pulling! Imagine your online banking timing out in a middle of a transaction! Yikes!!

So I decided to pop out my email to outlook express and see if that would somehow lessen the burden on Firefox and hence making surfing more tolerable. And whaddaya know, it worked! So I guess GMail was the culprit that caused my pages to take forever to load. Hmmpp!! I guess perhaps I should look into other email provider huh?

Speaking of tolerable surfing.. I was able to drop 300 ECs’ tonight, my first time ever! Now if only getting Business Loans were as easy as that especially one that promises an easy process, fast funding and excellent service just like those found at EZunsecured dot com. Oh well.. off to drop more cards for my other blog’s EC….

Do you know what this item is? No, it’s not some medical devices or anything complex like that.

This is a typical item that Singaporean living in a HDB apartment would be familiar with. We use this little useful gadget to cover our bamboo pole holder! As you might imagine, when you are living in a high rise, the only way to dry our wet clothes out in the sun is via bamboo poles like this… and the cap above goes over the holes when we don’t use it so that when it rains, water does not accumulate in the holes and form breeding grounds for mosquitoes! Simple yet a useful gadget eh???

And do you know that we can get fined if we failed to have these caps on the holes when the government officials actually come over to our home to make sure we follow this little “rule”? After all it only cost SGD1.00 for a pack of 6. So make sure you get yours ok sengihnampakgigi
