Just when others are anticipating the new year, making plans for parties to usher in a new beginning, my BFF, Debbie or aka Phatelara who is in Kucing, her homeland, celebrates this day with extra zest and excitement each year. Why, you may ask. Well because it is HER BIRTHDAY! How awesome is that?

Just imagine 27 years ago, a baby cries as she enters the world amidst all the excitement and buzz. Each year it’s like everyone around the world celebrates with her this special day. If that ain’t awesome, I don’t know what is!!

Debbie dearest.. May this birthday and the new year bring you joy, happiness, love and yes! more Kaching!!!

Love ya dearie…

The end of the year is as good a time as any for makeovers. Be it your hairdo, your wardrobe, your glasses and even your blog (ahem, ahem)!

I know I need a different look this year. I was thinking of cutting my hair short what with this hot weather and all but changed my mind as I kind of like my long hair now. Besides, it is already at a manageable length. I might change my mind later but I think I would keep it as it is right for now. As for wardrobe, I just did some shopping for Hari Raya so there are still lot of new pieces in there. So I figured I’ll changed my glasses. After all I had this pair for almost three years now and I think it’s time for new look!

I was looking around the Holiday frames at ZenniOptical.com today. We all know of the fantastic prices that this site offers. They don’t use middle man so their prices are really cheap and affordable. I saw this nice and simple half rimless pair. I’ve always fancied these kind of frames but was always advised by opticians against it because of my high prescription. This time I think I would take the risk. After all the cost of frame and lenses would only cost USD19. Economical and stylish right?

Ok, excuse me now while I do my checkout :)

I was experimenting as usual. This time with my feeds. I was going through my Google adsense account today and saw this option where I could place the Adsense ads in my feeds. I know that I am able to do it even with feedburner but I thought it would be much easier if I consolidate everything into one account and the program did say that I won’t lose any of my existing subscribers so I happily redirected ALL my feeds from Feedburner.com to Feedproxy.google.com. Guess what happened?!

From this figure a month back
(I actually got around 80 about a week back but I didn’t screen capture it)

to

this today!

Argh.. I hope it’s just a glitch and the figure would return to the actual figure otherwise I’m gonna cry! I should have experimented with my one of my other blogs. Oh well!! (knock on my head!)

On the bright side though, everything else in terms of set up and all, looks intact so keeping my fingers crossed!

When I used to be a normal person, waking up in the mornings and going to my nine to five job, I used to love year-ends. Not only were there an influx of holidays and parties, but there’s also plenty of personalized holiday gifts from suppliers, vendors and hotel representatives as a token of appreciation for all the business that we’ve given them. I used to go out for lunch and come back to hampers, log cakes, teddy bears, diaries and calendars. Ah.. those were the days. Nowadays I even have to buy diaries myself!

Perhaps I should get something for myself so that I don’t feel so blue. Perhaps a nice personalized thumb drive would do the trick. I heard Pexagon is offering 20% off their range of holiday gifts. There’s the personalized thumb drives, the wooden usb flash drives, the custom business card drives and even personalized pens. I could even have the words “LJ’s the Best” engraved on it or something. LOL!

Seriously though, if you are looking for corporate gifts or year-end giveaways, I think any one of these items would make fantastic tokens of appreciation and I’m sure your clients or even your own staff would love getting them.

Happy Holidays peeps!

I’ve always enjoyed songs by Amy Mastura and since me and GP were talking about her the other day, I thought I dedicate this song to her. GP!!.. this is for you and B! Enjoy!

** Lyrics
Kasih bila air mata
Jatuh berderai membasah pipi
Katakanlah padaku
Sebelum mengering
Ku hapus lukamu

Kasih janganlah bersedih
Bila impian tak seindah kenyataan
Cinta tak kan terwujud, dengan air mata
Tanpa pengorbanan

Dan biarlah cinta kasih kita
Bersemi sepanjang hari
Secerah matahari yang bersinar
Hidup pun akan terasa lebih hidup

Ever since the internet interruptions and the connection being so slow and all, Azwaj and me decided that it time to be couch potatoes and catch up on our movies instead. I agreed as what took me about two hours or so daily to drop my EC cards, it is now taking triple the time and even so, sometimes the widgets won’t even show! I literally had chest pain while waiting for that swirling thingy to stop, signaling that the page had finished loading :(.. I even had to disable my greasemonkey plugin so that Firefox would load faster, hence the lack of emoticon on this post.

Anyway, back to the movie part. Whenever we watched movies, we normally like to set the ambiance. So the rooms would be darken, curtains closed, there’ll be snacks like pastries, crackers and drinks all ready on the coffee table.

All Roads Lead Home The Movie was one that we saw and I absolutely loved it! I shall not dwell into the story lines as I don’t want to spoil it for you guys but it is a definite must watch family or even couple movie. Get ready to laugh and cry at the same time. So standby with those kleenex ya.

Here’s the trailer to whet your appetite! Enjoy!

It’s Christmas this Thursday so what better time to have this song here today on MM. Merry Christmas friends :)

***Lyrics:
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa’s on his way;
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother’s child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I’m offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you

Part of losing weight is to minimize intake and maximize output. Meaning reduced food and increase exercise. I have not been doing both! In fact I have been doing the direct opposite. I’ve been eating and eating and as usual no exercise whatsoever. I’ve recently developed this liking for Kaya Puff from our local 711 here and everytime I get some puff fuel for the puff dragon, I’ve been buying this pastry for me and him and since he is not really into it, I end up eating both!

Sigh.. perhaps I should start packing in those diet pills for instant results eh?

As you know, I’ve been trying this new comment plugin from JS-Kit for 24 hours now. All I can tell you is that I love it! I’ve been dancing around so much that if I had wood flooring, I’d probably wore it out by now. LOL! As promised, here’s my short analysis.

Pros:

  1. Commenting is now much more fun. We can reply to each other comments directly underneath it making it more like a personal conversation
  2. I’m in smiley and html heaven
  3. I can reply comments directly from my email if I put in my email address when I comment. This is by far the best feature for me as we all know how slow the internet can get sometimes so this really save me time!
  4. I can incorporate commentluv plugin into the JS-Kit comments as well like what I have done over in Life’s Pages
  5. You can rate comments if you like
  6. Easy moderation
  7. Easy to install and for some reason if I decide to revert back to the blogger style of commenting, I can do it with a click… AND.. no comments would be lost!!!

UPDATE on Pros : There is a “Add Picture” option.. Awesome.. though I’m not sure how much it affects loading time though… (let me know if it slows down my page ok guys)

Cons:
I only found one. My Top Commenter widget is not updated with the latest comments.

That being said, Khris Loux of JS-Kit did leave me this message :

Hi LJ,
Thanks for test driving our Comment widget!
We have a side bar widget called Navigator that shows Recent Comments and highest rated posts (if you are using our Ratings widget, too!) It doesn’t currently show Top Commenter on the site, but I love the idea :)
I will put it in the development queue and get back to you on a release date!
Navigator is here: http://js-kit.com/navigator/
Oh, we released FaceBook support so your readers can use their FB login and avatar.
Thanks!

Isn’t that fantastic news??!!!! Thanks Khris.. I’m sure me and my blogger friends wouldn’t have any reservations whatsoever to switch then :) and like I said in my comment back to you.. Thank you so much for such a fantastic plugin. It’s about time, developers consider us hosting at blogspot as REAL bloggers too :)

So peeps, that’s my analysis. For those of you that want this fantastic plugin, head on over to JSKit and get your own JSKit Comment Service. Holler if you need my help ok :)

I am in the midst of testing a new commenting plugin from JS-Kit, that is not only pretty but that would enable us do a “reply” to each comment right underneath the comment itself. This is a very familiar feature of wordpress commenting that is unfortunately missing in blogger.

However I am currently not sure how it would affect the Top Commenter widget as it does not require you to login into blogger at all. Hence this “testing” period. Here’s how to comment using this feature.

  1. Click on “Leave a Comment”
  2. You can register as a JS-Kit member by clicking on the dropdown menu and choosing “New JS-Kit profile”.
  3. Enter a login name, password and retype the password again. Click register. After this you just need to re-click on your name and you can set your profile all from this screen
  4. You can also use your facebook account or your open id account to leave a comment.
  5. If you prefer not to do all this, you can just enter as a guest and type in any ID before leaving the message.

Let me know how you like the new commenting interface ok.. and once I am happy with the results, I’ll come up with another post to let you guys know what is it all about :)

Yihaa!!! Miss Fly is home!! Miss Fly, my laptop is home. I’m so happy beyond words! It’s like my long long friend is back.. I don’t need to bother Azwaj with his pc anymore…LOL!!

I’ve been busy though. Before I sent her for repairs, I had removed all my data from the hard drive (can’t have strangers going through my data) and now I had to put everything back in. So.. I took the opportunity to clean up my hard drive and now it’s feeling like a brand new machine again!

According to the report slip, they replaced the motherboard. Lucky for me Miss Fly’s still under warranty otherwise it would have cost me something like RM1500.00 to replace! The counter girl suggested that I extend my warranty for a mere RM198.00 to cover another year of free service and parts replacement. I immediately signed up! After all, I intend to use Miss Fly for at least two more years so better to have her covered for sure!

Ok.. so now excuse me, while I catch some zzzz… Catch you later peeps!

How I wish the title said, LJ, the Millionaire instead…lol!.. but seriously though, Azwaj just found out recently that his long lost friend, Bob, is now a millionaire.

Azwaj knows this friend, Bob, from his single years when he was manning a jamming studio in KL. Bob had a burger stall in front of the the studio and Azwaj would always let Bob jam with him when the studio was empty. Bob had always been a nice person and would always be bullied by his customers. They would order 10 burgers and only pay for 8 and he would still smile and let the situation pass. There was even one time when he was not able to conduct his business because someone stole his cylinder of gas! He’s humble and those that know him has only kind words to speak of him :)

After Azwaj left the jamming studio, he and Bob lost touch. Although he heard that Bob has been hanging out at another studio he knew of, both never really caught up.

Then recently, Bob met up with another one of Azwaj friends, M. M was the one who told us that B is now a millionaire. It seems a few years back Bob joined this multi-level marketing program and hit it big time. He is currently number 8 on the program’s high achievement list. Awesome right? Now he lives in a big mansion, has several Mercedes and BMWs and who knows what else!

I heard of people getting rich from MLM program and am even a member of a few myself but a millionaire?!!.. Would really love to hear how he does it. I understand Bob is now giving motivational talk as well! I just love successful story!!

Because of my surfing habits be it from EC droppings or my paid-to-click programs, I am susceptible to a thousand and one spywares, malwares and adwares. There was a point of time when all pages would slow down and I would be re-directed to pages that I did not request. By that time, to even load windows in safe mode to run a virus or even spyware scan is impossible simply because the system won’t let me boot in safe mode.

I have taken extreme measure to stop that from happening again by installing a software that would “lock” my “C” drive so much so that each time I reboot, my system is clean from all traces of where I’ve been, including virus and spyware.

This also means, unless I “unlock” my “C: drive, I can’t bookmark pages, update softwares and any thing I place on my desktop would be gone the next time I reboot. It takes a lot of discipline to remember to NOT place anything on my desktop as it is the easiest place to dumb any file for easy access.

It’s not for everyone and believe me, this is extreme even for me but it’s the best course of action I can take as I can’t have Miss Fly down even for a day to run a scan. So far so good until Miss Fly died on me due to hardware failure, but at least it’s not from crazy virus or spyware.

That being said, for those of you that find your pc is doing something weird like running extremely slow and you keep getting redirected to different pages, you might want to install this two free software and run it ASAP.

Spyware Blaster and Spybot – Search & Destroy

Good luck and don’t let those spyware get you ;)

I woke up at midnight today thinking that I had Plantar Fasciitis ( painful foot condition in the heel and arch area) as each step I took to get off my bed was pure torture. It was only after I had my cup of coffee that everything seemed to be ok again. Now though, my head feels like a thousand brick is on it and all I want to do is sleep.

I think it would be remiss of me if I don’t at least mention something about the massive landslide over at Bukit Antarabangsa in Selangor that happened on Saturday, 6 December 2008 at 3.30am, just two days before Hari Raya Haji. The incident has claimed the life of four people so far.

Friends of mine living in the area has been forced to move out of their houses. One of them only managed to grab some clothing, cellphone, his passport and his harmonica and had to take shelter at the mosque. He even had to leave his car behind as no vehicles are allowed to use the roads. Another one has moved out to stay with his sister as there had been some land movement in the area as well.

My condolence to all those that had lost their loved ones and my sympathy to all those involve in the incident. My prayers are with you.

It’s been raining heavily these past few days that we were really in no mood to go anywhere especially house hunting. I’m in an even frustrated mood as I don’t have Miss Fly and my online and offline pc activities are really limited. I thought of re-tweaking one of my other blog but because of this limited time frame I think it’s not really a good idea.

So anyway, as I was surfing today (on my borrowed time), I searched for the keyword house for rental and I found this awesome site at Outer Banks vacation rental home. It looks absolutely beautiful and I could so imagine myself there enjoying all the luxuries provided by the home.
Sigh…ok.. back to reality…

As I am writing this, I also have a browser open for an online survey on sleep. No I don’t have trouble sleeping at all but this survey would earn me some moolah so I guess why not. The only thing is that it’s driving me nuts right now. It’s taking forever to load and I think I’ve had just about enough waiting. Unfortunately there is no button that would enable me to continue this survey later and neither am I seeing any exit signs or buttons.

So I’m guessing I either have to forfeit this survey or redo it again when I’m at home and the connection speed is much better.

Another favourite Karaoke song to sing to.. and I love the way that lady sang it in the movie “The Bandit”. Enjoy!

***Lyrics:
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit lonely and youre never coming round
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart

Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of something wild
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit helpless and Im lying like a child in your arms
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know Ive got to get out and cry
Turnaround, every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if youll only hold me tight
Well be holding on forever
And well only be making it right
Cause well never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I dont know what to do and Im always in the dark
Were living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forevers gonna start tonight
Forevers gonna start tonight

Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now Im only falling apart
Theres nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now theres only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart

Instrumental

Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround, every now and then I know youll never be the boy you always wanted to be
Turnaround, but every now and then I know youll always be the only boy who wanted me the way that I am
Turnaround, every now and then I know theres no one in the universe as magical and wondrous as you
Turnaround, every now and then I know theres nothing any better and theres nothing I just wouldnt do
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, every now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if youll only hold me tight
Well be holding on forever
And well only be making it right
Cause well never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I dont know what to do and Im always in the dark
Were living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forevers gonna start tonight
Forevers gonna start tonight

I was applying lotion on my feet today when I noticed how my feet has this two color tone to it. I know exactly why that is so. It’s because my shoe only is closed toed so it only cover the front part of my feet. All others are exposed to the sun, and when you travel on the motorbike, you’ll get the sun directly on you.

So I’m thinking that perhaps that I should get some nice boots like the one I saw at UGG boots website. I can’t be going around with two toned colored feet can I?

I may not have won GP’s Teddy Giveaway but I’m so glad that the winner, our dearest Roxy has decided to share her BEAR-iuca with all of us.. So join us if you want to have BEAR-iuca over at your place!

START COPYING HERE

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a powerful Genie Princess named Mariuca who was known throughout the land as the friendliest, most popular blogger in the blogosphere kingdom. Adored and admired by international visitors and commentators from around the world, the Genie Princess travels the blogosphere on her magical flying carpet, always looking for ways to share her good fortune with others.

Over the past two years of blogging, Mariuca has met so many new people, from all walks of life and all over the world, each one bringing a little of their culture and lifestyle when they visit and comment on Mariuca̢۪s two sites. So on her 2nd Blog Anniversary, Mariuca wanted to celebrate with all of her international blogosphere buddies by hosting a bear-naming contests at Wishing On A Falling Star and Mariuca̢۪s Perfume Gallery and to pass her two lucky, cuddly teddy bears along to the winners who came up with the best names.

On the opposite side of the world, from the moment Roxy (the prolific Roxiticus Desperate Housewives blogger) and her sweet daughters London and Maddie saw the teddy in his personalized t-shirt and blue muffler at Wishing On A Falling Star, they knew that he needed to come to live with their family in Mendham, NJ. The three New Jersey girls named him immediately and burst into a wonderful song for BEAR-iuca:

BEAR-iuca, BEAR-iuca, amazing teddy cheer.
BEAR-iuca, BEAR-iuca, we̢۪d love you to come live here!

Mariuca received 16 possible names for the Mariuca Teddy Bear, making it hard for the Genie Princess to choose just one…then Alakazam! A bolt of lightning delivered the perfect way to share BEAR-iuca’s good fortune to bloggers around the globe. While the soft, stuffed, cuddly BEAR-iuca is on his way to live with Roxy, London, Maddie and Rex in the Roxiticus Valley, the Spirit of BEAR-iuca is racing through the blogosphere to bring happiness, holiday cheer, and beary best wishes to everyone who welcomes him into their online home and passes along the BEAR-iuca good luck charm to ten friends.

Please play along with us by following a few important rules:

1. Add your site(s) to the list once you have received the Spirit of BEAR-iuca badge of teddy bear cheer.
2. Pass along the Spirit of BEAR-iuca and his cheery badge to as many people as you like.
3. Leave a comment HERE once you̢۪ve passed on the Spirit of BEAR-iuca.
4. Once Roxy and the Genie Princess have visited your site to make sure your links are complete and proper, you will then be added to the Master List.
4. To ensure everyone receives equal link benefit, please UPDATE your list regularly!

My usual stop when I go to Low Yatt is this place called Auntie Anne’s. I simply love their Chocolate Mint Pretzel Perfect snacks. That is normally the highlight of the window shopping trip down to Low Yatt especially after ogling at all those new gadgets that is always available at the IT center.

On my last trip, however, I was shocked to find another shop at the same location instead. What happened to Auntie Anne’s? Is this the only one branch that had closed down or did it affect all their franchises?

Oh man, that sucked big time especially I still have a “Pretzel Perfect Passport” that would have qualify me a free pretzel of my choice!

Anyone knows?

I’m so HAPPY!!! I’m so HAPPY!!!

I GOT MY ALL MY DATA back!! I love being married to a pc geek!!! My data are now all transferred to Azwaj’s pc at home and the pc at the office. Talk about being overly cautious now..LOL!

So! Miss Fly can now get the treatment she so rightfully deserved. We’re off to send it to HP/Compaq Service Ctr over at Damansara probably tomorrow. I do hope they get it back to me ASAP but then again you know this service center and their warranty cases right?

But Still.. I”M SO HAPPY!!! I’m jumping for joy!!
