Moving Blues

The time has come to move our telephone and internet connection to our new home. So we were at the TM Point earlier today to do it. According to them, termination would take effect today and reactivation would be between seven to nine working days.. So.. I reckon, it would be late next week (if I’m lucky) or sometime mid July before I would get hooked up again to the internet.

So I am running on borrowed time here and could get disconnected any time.. the Adrenalin is really pumping.. lo!!

Oh well.. good time to catch up on the old movies and tv series. How I wish we have a great home theater system so it would be more enjoyable but then.. that’s life!

New Desktop For Me

One of the other reason why I’m so looking forward to moving is because that would be when I would get my new desktop! Yeay!

Yeap.. Azwaj said we can only get it once we move and that makes perfect sense to me and that is why I’m not complaining.. and since I still have Miss Fly.. I’m still contented.

So in the meantime, I am looking around for best buy at buy.com for suggestions and tips on the latest deals around. Join me?

A Night With Trinity and Family **

Yeay! I met another blogger friend last night! Trinity and her family, from Bandung, arrived safely from their trip to HongKong today.

Since Saturday is gonna be a busy day for us, me and Azwaj decided to meet up with Trin last night for dinner instead.. and I’m so glad we did coz it was so much fun as we had more time together :)

We had “Nasi Lemak” and “Teh Tarik” and then we went to “Petaling Street” and back to my place for Durian! How awesome is that right?? Super Awesome I tell you!

Trin! I’m so glad to have finally met up with you and your family dearie! I hope you had a great 4hours and will have an even better time at the gathering tomorrow! You’re such a great person to know and so pretty in person!! Love Ya!!

And remember, if you know Trin from her blog and wants to meet up in person, she will be at the Pavilion from 3pm to 5pm, 27th June!

Michael Jackson Dies at 50 *

I was getting ready for bed this morning but GP buzz me today about Michael Jackson‘s death. I was in shock and even more so because I had just written an entry on Farah Fawcett‘s demise.

The reports were unconfirmed though at the time.

This afternoon when I woke it.. it was all over the news and so it is true after all. Michael Jackson, King of Pop is dead. According to reports, he apparently suffered a cardiac arrest in his LA home on Thursday. His personal physician, who was with him at the the time, did not manage to resuscitate him and he was seen with an oxygen masked as he was carted away to the ambulance.

The cause of death wasn’t known. Jackson was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center not far from his rental mansion in the Holmby Hills. An autopsy is set for Friday.

Training with Lou Ferrigno, the star of the TV show The Incredible Hulk, Jackson had been busy rehearsing for a high-stakes comeback tour, set to start within weeks in England, with dozens of dates scheduled and tickets selling out quickly.

I decided a few days back to just register my real name and email address at Facebook. I already have one account using my current email but I thought perhaps I could find some old friends if I were to use my real REAL name… AND I was right.

Within two days, my best friend from junior college in Singapore (she never was a techy person so I was surprised she was on FB) found me and through her, I found some friends from the same college and from there, it lead to me reuniting with friends from my primary school!

It was so much fun looking at the old school pictures that they have uploaded and seeing so many of my friends that I didn’t really mind that TwitterFox refused to let me update my status..

Facebook I love you!!!… and Friends.. I so look forward to hooking up during the next gathering!!

Banana Cheese Cake From Trinity **

I got an email yesterday from Trinity, who is in Hong Kong currently, that on her transit in KL, she was gonna leave me something at the concierge of the Dorsett Regency Hotel. So both me and Azwaj took a drive there tonight and went to grab my package. And looky what I got from the sweet Trinity. She knows I love cheesecake and and she got me Banana Cheesecake and Swiss Roll all the way from Bandung!

Having just had dinner, I’m too full right now to eat anything but I look forward to eating these babies tonight while I bloghop!

Thank you so much Trinity.. You’re the best!! And oh I so enjoyed Cliff’s drawing too!! lol!! so cute!!

PS: There’s gonna be a mini blogger gathering at Ikano on 27th June at 4pm per Trinity’s request.. so be there if you can ok :) LJ would be the one with the paperbag over her head!! (too many photographers for sure) lol!!

Why There Are Monkeys At My New Apartments? ***

…. because I have a forest for my front door! See the map below? See the forest that is just next to our new apartment?

Don’t get me wrong.. I LOVE our new apartment. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful, it has a resort feel and fresh air BUT it also has monkeys! Vicious monkey in my opinion. Though according to A, they are more scared of me as I am of them. I beg to differ. I am horrified and terrified of them.

Just yesterday, we went out for early dinner and when we returned to the new apartment, it was around 6.30pm. That apparently was their feeding time too. As we approached our front door, we saw this HUGE monkey on the ledge of our corridor!! Horrors upon horrors he panicked when he saw us and did not know what to do.. he started to move towards us.. trying to find an escape route but when I screamed he panicked! He ran off to where he came from and started climbing up the water pipes and up to the next floor..

He, then joined his friends who was on the ledge of the same floor as us but on the other side and started taunting us! A was naturally mad while I was mad too.. with FEAR!!! I could have sworn I would have fainted if they came towards us..

I hurriedly opened the front door and gave a stick to A to chase them away.. He did but they did not seemed to waiver. A said it was probably because they smelled the fear coming from me and that was also the reason why they started to taunt us.. Argh.. I need me some pepper spray!!

See.. they are everywhere.. though during certain times only

I HATE MONKEYS!!…

Just Another Move Update

Packing is almost done..even my wardrobe is now empty except for a few pieces of attire that I would need to wear till the actual move day. Not sure when that is going to happen but for sure it’s sometime this week! Phewitt… I’m so excited and I could feel the kitty’s excitement too.. lol!!

Speaking of kitties.. I need to go get pet supplies today.. hm.. everything is so expensive these days.. even pet food has increased in prices.. sigh…

I Now Know Why Paypal Charged Me! **

Paypal wrote to me yesterday regarding the issue I brought up on paypal fees charged to incoming funds. Basically what happened was, I received a few payments from my clients for makeover jobs and I was charged for those transaction meaning instead of the full amount, I received 3.4%+USD0.30 less.

The reason why I was making a fuss about it was because I did not receive any notification of the change and the fees were not consistent.. I was charged for some but not for others.. though thankful for that.. I would like to know what was the criteria for the fees.

I’ve used paypal for some time now and I know they NEVER charge me or my clients any fee for payment they sent me via their paypal balance. So this came as a rude shock. This was Paypal’s email to me yesterday.. although it seems clear but like I say.. I’m puzzled as to why some transactions are being charged and why some transaction remained full amount.

So I tested something today. I went into my husband’s account and sent myself money.. and what did I find? Another “option” that was totally NOT there before:

I tried sending money as a gift and the next page that came up was…

See the “I will pay the fee” bit.. This never showed up before!

….and then I tried sending money as “Purchase for services” which would probably be what my clients would have chosen and the option did not show up! I got this screen instead.

…so now I know why I was being charged!!!

In conclusion.. All Transaction are being charged now.. it’s just a matter of who bears the charge.

I love using paypal because it has allowed me to received payments easily from all over the world. I just wish they were clearer in their rules and when they change them.

Still frustrated..

We have POOL!

We checked out the swimming pool at our new place today and it was awesome. After NOT seeing the pool in operations for so long at our existing place, it was great to actually just sat at the pool and dipped our leg in the cool water!

However, what is not so good is that, to get to the swimming pool from our block, we had to walk up and down this long flights of stairs ( I did say our condo unit is on the hills right?).. I was practically panting away when we reached our block! Good thing no monkeys were around too.. otherwise I don’t think I have the energy to run away from it!

And speaking of monkeys.. I really got to check if our insurance covers monkey bites or anything to that effect. Perhaps we need a new insurance quote?

When Did Paypal Change The Rules? *

I noticed recently that paypal has been deducting fees for incoming funds to my personal account. It didn’t use to, so I was really puzzled why it happened.

So my question is .. when did paypal start charging fees for incoming funds to PERSONAL account? Did I miss a newsletter or email from them? Does anyone know?

I mean I know they charge a certain fee for incoming funds to a Premier Account and for payments via credit cards but I’ve NEVER been charged before for funds sent to my personal account.

Frustrated…
