Shopping Shopping

On my trip to Singapore this time, guess what I’m gonna go shopping for? No.. not for some Orange NJ dental implants but for a new pair of glasses. Yeap! Like I’ve mentioned in my woman blog, it’s been 4 years since my last eye check up and I do think my prescription has changed so I’m off to the optician this time.

Last trip down I had every intention of getting a new pair with those transitional lenses. You know the kind that change to a darker color in very bright lighting and clears up in normal lighting? Well, not only will it cost me around SGD600 just for the lens but my optician also did not recommend it for me because of my high prescription. He told me that since transitional lenses are made of plastic, my lenses would be extra thick and would look darn ugly. So, disappointment, I did go through with my plan.

This time around though I’m going through with it, normal high index, multicoated, and uv whatever…. I’m getting a new pair of glasses! Wohoo!!

My Brand New PC

Yihaaa!! Thanks to my beloved Azwaj for getting my new pc ready for use and though I don’t have a name for her yet, I am leaning towards Miss Shiny.. simple coz she is all back and Shiny.. Lol!!… I still have not gone to send Miss Fly back to the service center because A’s been sick and I’ve not been too well either and my trip back home is coming soon and Hari Raya is coming, and there is food shopping to do.. etc etc.

It sure feels good to see my own files again. The familiarity of my own browser and the bookmarks sure gets me back in the mood to work again. I even dropped 300 cards for LJL these past two days (Hurray for me!). When Miss Fly was down, I was using a very old pc and the withdrawal symptoms was horrendous. This must be how people at the drug rehab feels when they are trying to stop the habit. Lucky for me, I had all my favorite show to keep me company and help me forget the pain of not being online. (sounding like an internet junkie for sure).. but I’m back in business!

So here she is.. introducing Miss Shiny!

New Desktop for Me!! Yahoo!! **

Very productive day today.

Though A still wasn’t feeling well, we still needed to go to Low Yatt to send a client’s laptop for repair. Then of course, there is the matter of me needing a new desktop to replace Miss Fly which, despite having been sent for repairs early last week, is still down.

So, YES, I got me a new desktop with a 20″ LCD monitor to match. A is setting it up with all the necessary software I would need for my work and hopefully it would get done soon though the poor dear is still sniffling away and I feel guilty for asking him to work. No pictures for now but once it is up and running and all nicely set up at my workstation, they’ll be plenty of pictures. LOL!

Hmm.. any suggestion for a name for my new and shiny desktop?

Oh by the way, I also got my cheque today from Advertlets.. so double yeay!!

If I had RM100K.. *

A representative from a local bank called today asking to talk to me and starting yapping about this investment invite-only opportunity. My first question to her was “Err.. do you know that I am an foreigner and how did you get my name and number?”. She said yes, she knew I was a foreigner and that she got my name off some database (she talked so fast I didn’t catch the name). Anyway.. she went on to explain the investment and how most of her clients all invested RM100,000 and that they would all get RM200,000 after eight years or something to that effect. I actually switched off after the RM100,000 bit. I asked her what was the minimum investment she told me RM50,000.. hmm… I thanked her and told her I was not interested.

Wondering now, what database I’m on that lets these rep to think I got RM100,000 lying around.. hmm…

Cold Day

It rained yesterday.

Heavy, thunderstorm rain that started early in the morning and only stopped around 9.00pm. Though the thermometer on the wall shows 22 degrees Celsius, it sure felt like it was 18 degrees or something. Kinda makes me wish we had a furnace around instead of needing to wear this sweater that makes me look like a sick woman! Lol!

I won’t even mind having to pay for the furnace filters!

Make-Shift Work Area

For the past week now, I have a makeshift office space. When Miss Fly was at the shop, A had set up for me an old machine that is VERY slow and not totally equipped with the software that I was used to using. So there was no Twitter plugin, no MS Outlook and no Photoshop. So I was lazy to do anything. Besides this makeshift office space had me sitting on the floor with a cushion on my butt. It would suffice at the point as it let me watch my dvd marathon. After all I don’t need to type anything while watching dvd.

But now that it is coming to the second week and Miss Fly is no where near ok, I got TF installed along with some software that I liked. I even moved around my furniture (thank God for desk with wheels) so that I no longer needed to sit on the floor (my butt and back hurt from no support). I need to get back to work as not only am I getting frustrated, so are my clients!

HP is so gonna get a screaming from me tomorrow when I resend Miss Fly in and I am so gonna get a new desktop myself. What before would have been a luxury, now it has become a necessity! I was gonna buy a lovely Contemporary Jewelry which is a bracelet but oh well… next time!

Lack of Sleep Coz of Grey's Anatomy

I thought with Miss Fly in the shop, I would get more sleep and more rest. However, it is the direct opposite because I spend my days watching dvd marathon of my fav tv show. It’s like the next episode is better than the other and each time I tell myself, ok.. this is the last one today, I end up watching another episode and another. I swear I am developing dark circle from trying to keep awake!

Oh did anyone else love the way Derek proposed to Meredith and the way they got “married” on Grey’s Anatomy? Awesome without being too cheezy I say!

Starting To Go Crazy

It sure feels like forever since I visited my own blogs. Miss Fly, my laptop is still in the shop and last I heard on Thursday, they have ordered the parts needed to replace the defective one and that she would only be back on Monday. I received a missed call alert late Friday at 7pm and when I call back, the HP office was already closed. I’m really hoping that the call was to let me know I could collect her on Monday and not because of some delay in the parts replacement.

If I had known it was going to take them this long to do the repairs, I would have packed away my Samsonite luggage bag and gone back to Singapore for a short mommy visit!

I really hope I get Miss Fly on Monday.. I’m starting to go crazy..heheh
