Erwani and Irwan's Solemnization Event

I just want to give a shout out to congratulate Erwani an Irwani today on their wedding day! I was at the my cousin’s house the whole day yesterday helping out with the preparation and although tired, I had a fantastic day!

Here’s are some pictures to show you guys what happens during a Malay wedding in Singapore.

Blogging Via Prepaid Internet Account in Sunny Singapore

Hello peeps! Yeap.. it’s me.. blogging from Singapore.. and not because of Mr Nice Guy (MNG) but because now there is prepaid internet access in Singapore!

I’ve mentioned before that I was researching on this topic online so I already sort of got some of the information but nothing really beats talking to a real life person behind the counter. Soo.. before checking out on what was on sale at my favorite hangout “Parkway Parade”, I went to check out Starhub and Singtel first and this is what I found.

Starhub MaxMobile Prepaid:

• Offers package ranging from 1 hour to 5 days at two speeds of 2Mbps and 7.2Mbps.
• For five days consecutive access at 7.2Mbps, I would have to pay SGD25. Cheap right? But the download is capped at 2GB only per day. Once you burst that, you have the wait for the next day to continue your work.
• If you are not a heavy user and you just do the emailing and a little bit of blog update, dropping of EC and Adgitizing then this might be the package for you

Verdict: Definitely NOT for me as I need UNLIMITED access ..hahahhaha

SingTel BroadBand On Mobile

• Startup Prepaid card that would let you surf 3 days consecutively together with a USB Modem that supports download speed of up to 3.6Mbps cost SGD99 while the one with USB Modem that supports 7.2Mbps would cost SGD128.
• If you already got a USB modem then you just have to pay SGD18 for the startup card
• UNLIMITED access!!! (Yaho0000!)
• Top up options: SGD10 for 2 days or SGD20 for 5 days via Visa/Mastercard online
• You card is valid for 3 months from the activation date.

So can you guess which package I got? I reckon even if I surf more than 4hours a day I’m already saving lots of money as the cyber cafe downstairs charge me SGD3 an hour and this plan only cost me $5 a day!

Awesome to the power of infinity I say!! lol!! So I guess you guys don’t have to miss me eh? lol!

To Do List

While waiting for a client to review my design, I’m dropping EC, Adgitizing and, believe it or not, packing!

I usually have a checklist of all the stuff I need to bring along with me, like power adapter for my phone and my digital camera, my medicine pouch and headset for my laptop, Miss Fly, in case I wanted to play computer games or watch a dvd and don’t want to disturb mommy dearest.

This time, however, my packing list included some stuff that’s not mine. My mommy wanted me to bring over the excess stuff that she bought on her last visit here. One of them was this infant travel bed that she bought for my cousin’s daughter who’s due to give birth in March. Lucky for me, it’s compact and lightweight and can fit into my own traveling bag. In fact if I had a kids, this would be the perfect travel bed for my precious baby :)

Ok.. I leave you now while I seriously finished stuffing all these into my bag coz once the packing is done, I still have to do some research on prepaid internet service in Singapore. I heard that my prepaid phone provider has that service now though I got to buy a USB modem of some sort. Oh well… like I say.. more research :)

Alert Alert

As a lot of you know, my mama (mother-in-law) has lung cancer and brain tumor. Although she has gone for an operation to remove the cancer in May and gone through the radiotherapy for both the lung cancer and the brain tumor, her situation has not improved very much. Though during the last medical checkup, the doctor was impressed with her improvement and actually took her off the steroid, she is now getting weaker and rambling nonsense non-stop. She is keeping Abah (father-in-law) up all days and nights. Me, A and his siblings take turns looking after mama during the day but most times she wants abah and abah being the doting husband, always wants to be by her side.

Now Abah is not a strong man and carrying mama on and off the bed (when we are not around) for her to eat and use the portable toilet, can be quite taxing. We are always worried that sometimes in the process, both of them might fall down! This is where Medical Alert system like the the Fall Alert detector and the GPS Tracking Bracelet will come in handy. The first Medical Alert gadget, the Fall Alert, is suitable for home use in that in case there is any fall, it alerts emergency personnel that abah or mama have fallen and help can come immediately. The GPS Tracking has a two way speakerphone in that they can call for help should the need arise.

I thought both gadgets are super cool and would be appropriate in our situation and we would definitely bring it up with the rests of siblings. In the meantime, we just have to make sure Abah is not overworked and mama is comfortable by always being there and being on standby so with that.. I bid you bye bye for now and we have to buy them lunch!

A Singer Amongst Us

I was doing research on loose diamonds and listening to Music Monday songs that was selected by the participants when I found an original singer amongst us. Check out Allena and her guitar and her version of Lenka’s “The Show”. I was blown away. Allena is from the Philippines and the author of several blogs as well!

She also has another entry from the previous MM but I missed that one as I was too busy to make my rounds last week. Let me tell you, I’m glad I didn’t miss her performance this time around :).. Make sure you check her out. Can’t wait to see what she’s singing next week!

I’m so pissed!

I’m pissed because I need to do my online banking for my Singapore bank and the stupid OTP number that is supposed to come via my Singapore phone number did not arrive at all! Not even after I got back from getting electrical supplies for Abah today! I thought perhaps there was something wrong with my autoroam service but upon sending a test message, I know for sure there is nothing wrong with my roaming facility. Come on.. now I will for sure incur late charges and it’s not even my fault!

Oh this bank is so gonna get it when I come back to Singapore on Friday.

Sighing..

I was mentioning in my woman blog how Azwaj’s car just refused to start the other day. Well guess what.. The auto insurance and road tax have just expired!. WOW!.. when it comes it comes in hordes! I’m really just tempted to advice A to just forget about the car as we use the motorbike anyway but it’s handy to have since sometimes we really do massive groceries shopping and when we need to send the furkids to the clinic.

A lot of sighing nowadays :(

Super Duper Clean

I got a call from Azwaj today while he was at Mama’s place. It seems Mama is tired of being stuck at home in bed all the time and wants to go somewhere outside, “Anywhere” she said. lol!

So Azwaj suggested that perhaps she can spend some time with us here at the apartment. No doubt, they’ll be plenty of stuff to lug here from the house to our place, like the portable loo and the bed with the allergy mattress covers and the of course Abah got to stay here, which means clothes and what not, but if it makes Mama happy.. why not right?

So the moment Azwaj called I went on my super LJ mode with the spring cleaning.. but guess what? Azwaj called two hours later saying that Abah had convinced Mama to just stay at the house instead. Too much trouble, he said, especially since Mama would probably want to go home in two or three days time!

Oh well.. at leat my apartment is super duper clean.. lol!

How to Add URL Channels to Adsense Account

In case you don’t know, I have a celebrity gossip blog over at Today dot com call Gossip Galore Though I’ve slowed down posting there because they stop paying me per post, I still post there occasionally because I still get paid for traffic, albeit, not as much but it is still money to me :)

Recently Today.com again changed their policy and instead of paying us for traffic, they now share their Google Adsense and Amazon revenue with us. I must say that upon checking my adsense account today, I’m happy with my earnings thus far because I’m earning more even though I’m not posting daily at Gossip Galore.

In this short tutorial, I’m going to show you how to add a url channel in your adsense account to keep track of your earnings from your Today.com blog.

1. Firstly, please make sure you have added your Google Adsense id into your today.com site. You can get your adsense id by going to “My Account” tab and it’s right below the page. It would look something like “pub-3866787940076112”
2. Next, go your adsense account and under “Adsense Account” , click “Channels“
3. Next click on “URL Channel“

 

• Now click on “Add New URL channels“. This action would open up a box just underneath this menu

 

• Now all you need to do is just add your blog url or any site for that matter that has adsense so that all income from that url would be tracked. In my case it would be : gossipgalore.today.com and click the “Add Channels” button.
• You’re done! Enjoy tracking and if you want to earn just like me.. join me there ok..

My One Site

I should be sleeping now, after applying my under eye cream for dark circles, but instead here I am just finishing some touches to my About/Contact page. I must say I really enjoy looking at that page now as it looks very professional in my eyes.

As I mentioned in my blog makeover site, I get so tired of repeating my blog names and url to friends that I really need to just have one site that I can refer them to and from there, my visitors can hop on other sites that I write.

Dieting Blues

I have never diet in my life and probably don’t even know how or where to start. I heard of people taking diet pills and end up losing their liver in their process and so I get scared to even consider that for fear of the side effects of diet pills.

However, what I do know now is that my metabolic rate is dropping and though I’m still within the accepted weight range for my height, I need to take care of my food intake and start to exercise to make sure I remain healthy and fit for the rest of my life(how ever long that is..lol!)

Sigh… do I eat only veggies when I diet? I hate veggies!! :(

It's All About the Eating

I was on the phone earlier today with my SIL and still very much on the topic of dieting, detoxing and weight gain in general, we discussed some of the alli reviews we read online recently. It seems by taking Alli, we can lose 50% more weight than just dieting and exercise alone. Of course the review mentioned that we have to cut down on our food intake as well.

Hmm.. I guess the bottomline is always the food intake and the exercise eh? Is there no way to work around that one? Lol!

I Wish

You know what I wished for sometimes?

I wish for an electric blanket that knows how to regularize temperature so much so that if I’m cold, it turns up the heat and when I’m hot, it turns the temperature down so that I don’t start perspiring underneath. A little far-fetch wishing I know but we always wish for what we can’t have right? :(

Is it really Thursday already?

Wowee! Time sure flies when you’re taking care of the ill. Speaking of which, as I mentioned in my other blog, I think I’m really in need of detoxifying. I’ve been feeling so bloated and burping all the time that I have a feeling I’m suffering from indigestion or something. However before I get on my detox program, I need to go get me my supply of all natural colon cleansers. Luckily the store that sells the particular brand that I use just opened here in my area so there is no need for me to travel all the way to Maluri! Yeay!

In the meantime, I need to get some sleep now. Been up since noon and the hunger pangs are starting to strike again. Yikese!

The Day I Watered the Plants

It’s not news that I don’t like gardening. It’s not that I don’t enjoyed the flowers or even the products of the garden, it’s just, well.. “because”. Anyway, I needed to buy chilli for my dinner today and upon hearing that Abah said why not grab some from his garden. After all since mama has been sick no one has used them and most of them have gone rotten.

So off I went with my little plastic bag to “harvest” the chilli. lol! Azwaj came along and he noticed that Abah’s garden had gone dry. Poor Abah have been so busy tending to mama that his garden had been neglected. Most of the pots have all gone dry. So Azwaj decided he would do some watering before we go home. Since it was such a big garden, I decided to help. Azwaj would do the one part and I would do the other part. I must say tt’s not such bad experience. I got to see Abah’s garden all the plants that he had and it’s quite a collection. He has chilli, lime, noni, pandan leaves, onion and lots more.. I wonder if he has anything in his garden that can be used as a natural eye wrinkle remover ;)

Name this Fish

Just when I thought I was going to go on a Solo Slim diet, I found this stall that sells my all time favorite fish and I actually went for second helping! I would love to tell you the name of this fish but unfortunately I can’t coz I don’t know the name of the fish… lol!

It’s funny really because both me and mommy refers to this fish as “ikan pecal” because that is the name of the dish though we have no idea what the fish is called.. so please if anyone out there recognizes this fish and know it’s name, let me know now so I can go to the market and ask for it rather than only buy on sight… hhahaha.
