Smile Saturday: Funny Signs

I always say Malaysia lacks proper road signs. It is frustrating for locals and more so for foreigners. I mean that was the cause of our accidents a few years back. Luckily no none was hurt but it could have been much worse. However, I’m not going to rant over lack of road or safety signs today, instead I’m focusing on funny signs instead. Is The LG Optimus One My New Phone?

My G8 mobile phone is relatively new but as I mentioned before are giving signs me of old age. I keep needing to recharge it although I hardly use it and some functions, like the alarm clock, are no longer working. The one thing I do love about the phone is the big screen, the dual sim card and the tv function.

So having said that I’m on the lookout for another phone. I saw The LG Optimus the other day and at RM899, I think it’s definitely on my shortlisted list. Anyone using it yet or have any comments on that? Check out the videos before and see what this phone can go… Awesome I say!

Cyber Monday Shopping

As I mentioned at my other blog, I only just recently got to know about Cyber Monday. Apparently it is the biggest online shopping day of the Year and it falls on the Monday following Black Friday. However, a lot of online shopping sites like Buy dot com for instance are starting early this year and offering discounts of up to 70% on most of their items storewide.

Since Azwaj has been checking out some guitar stores online, I thought I do a little “window shopping” myself and I found this lovely Kramer guitar in their musical equipment department.  I wonder if it’s the same one that Azwaj is dreaming of owning. I guess I will check with him and if it’s a bargain, well I guess, A would have one more guitar to his collection soon.

Sometimes all you want is to love that someone but what can you do when all that person wants, is to leave and have nothing to do with you. At that moment, you feel like the world is tumbling down around you and you feel like your life is over. You feel there is no life after that person leaves. You wait for their return and you regret not fighting more for the person to stay. You mourn their loss. You wallow in self pity but then you move on… simply because that is the only thing you can do.

Black Friday Shopping Starts Early This Year

For someone who has never celebrated Thanksgiving, terms like Black Friday is an absolutely new word for me until I started blogging and paying more attention to holidays and sales in the world wide web. So for the benefit of people who are like me, let me try to enlightened you as well.. The best definition I have so far is..

Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. The term dates back to at least 1966, although its usage was primarily on the East coast.

So that being said, Black Friday starts early this year for shoppers at Buy dot com. In fact not only are they early, they are offering of up to 70% discount on most items. I don’t know about you but that sounds like a good enough reason to start Christmas shopping early this year.

Rain = Eat

One thing is for certain, when it rains I get hungry and at times like this I wished I had some kind of appetite suppressant pills. I mean I have to curb this cravings one way or another right? I have cravings for something sweet, something spicy and even something salty… lol! In fact right about now.. I’ll eat anything that you pretty much put in front of me.. Help!!!

Prince William and Kate Middleton Engaged!

Now I seriously got to worry about getting best diet pills to look awesome if I was invited to their wedding but I reckon there is no hope of getting an invite eh? Oh well..

I guess you heard the news, Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged! I don’t know about you but I love glamorous wedding and what could be more glamorous then a royal wedding. The couple, both 28 and who were college sweetheart, are planning a spring/summer wedding in 2011 and I for one am excited to watch the event.

In the meantime, enjoy this first interview they gave out since their engagement. I think they make a very nice couple :)

Hell's Kitchen - Take Off Your Apron

I’ve been watching Hell’s Kitchen lately and I’m on season six down to the final five contestant and I can’t stop watching. The challenges get more interesting with each episode and the mistakes that these contestants made sometimes are really mind boggling that I’m wondering if there are really Cooks let alone Chefs. I mean some of them can’t even cook a halibut straight through while shrimps were sent out raw!.. And for goodness sake when Chef Ramsay asked what is 3 times 4, even someone who is not a holding any finance jobs can answer 12 right?

I know the stress is overwhelming in the Hell’s kitchen and with Chef’s Ramsay shouting each order and calling everyone nasty names, it is definitely not an easy job but please.. get out from the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat.

Keep Blogging Fun

I didn’t know much when I first started blogging. All I knew was I wanted to blog and the easiest platform to start blogging on was on blogger dot com… plus it was free so that pretty much sealed the deal. Then the blogging got addictive. From one blog I suddenly had two and three and till now the final number (I think) at last count was nine. Not all my blogs are up to date though. I try to update as much as possible but sometimes blogging all the time is tiring and all I want to do is NOT blog.. lol!..

That is one of the reason why I moved to WordPress. I needed a new a challenge. I wanted to see what WordPress offered as a blogging platform. However to do that, I needed my own hosting. So I went around to web hosting reviews site to look for any web hosting provider reviews. I thank GOD I found WebHostingRating dot com. At the site I not only found recommendations for best web hosting but I also found fantastic articles that give me advice on what to avoid before getting web hosting. For example, some of us might be tempted to get cheap hosting just because it’s cheap when in reality sometimes cheap does not always means it’s good. We must instead focus on the reliability of the hosting company itself in terms of customer support, downtime and security. I also found out what the difference is between windows and linux hosting packages for example. The site also offers tips and techniques on how to optimize your hosting like ways to use web site analytics for more traffic and how to boost your search engine traffic.

I am happy with my current hosting now for sure as I am happy blogging with WordPress. Having said that I am also happy with blogger dot com too and in fact still uses it for two of my blogs. In the end, it doesn’t really matter where you blog, as long as you enjoy blogging and know how to keep it fun, non-tiring and challenging :)

Paypal Account Phishing Attempt

Before I proceed to start cleaning my ceiling fans , I just wanted to let you guys know of an email I got yesterday and what looks like a potential phishing attempt on my paypal account. I received three similar emails all saying that someone has paid me USD8 to an email account that is registered to me. The email says for me to register a paypal account to that email address or if I already had a paypal account to add that email address to my existing paypal account.

I would think anyone would be tempted to receive such payment but PLEASE do not act on this email. Although the email looks legit and points to the paypal site, I believe there is a way for this people to get access to your account after you act on this email. So don’t be greedy and lose all your money for a meagre USD24 ok :)

Music Monday #111 : The Trooper (Iron Maiden)

Any Iron Maiden fans out there? I can’t really call myself a fan but I’ve been exposed to this kind of music growing up with a very happening “rock” brother. lol.. and then I married one “rock” fella as well.. ahahahha…. so I can’t help it but listened and I must say I enjoyed some of the tunes like this one for example :)  By the way, Iron Maiden is coming to Singapore in February 2011. First time ever so it’s really a big deal for all their fans. They are going to rock the Singapore National Stadium on February 15,2011 so all you fans out there don’t forget to get your tickets ya.  Tickets are priced at SGD178, $148, $128 and $98 so if you need to save up.. now’s the time :)

Bye Bye Spider Veins

Sleepy or Hungry

I’m either sleepy or I’m hungry or both!. That’s my complain to Azwaj these days. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. It’s not like I’m not getting enough sleep or eat coz I do. I get like 6-8hours sleep time. I mean the timing does not matter as long as I get that much sleep right? .. and I eat three whole meals daily. So am getting fed up.. if this goes on, I’m going to end up to be one BIG hungry sleeping lady! and that would make me VERY UNHAPPY! lol!

Music Monday #110: MM Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor)

Music Monday started of as just a regular post. I was sharing songs from youtube with my readers and we were all exchanging comments on how awesome the song was. At the end of the post, I mentioned that if there was any songs that my readers wanted to share with me they could leave a comment and I would visit and enjoy the song with them. There wasn’t even a MrLinky attached to the post then.

As the participants list grew over time, I decided to add a MrLinky so that it would be easier for me to visit the participants. Since I enjoyed the bloghopping so much, I thought it would be nice to have other participants have the code at their blogs so they can bloghop too. It is definitely not meant to be spammy or boring and I can’t help if there are 50-100s links on the list as people enjoy the meme and join by the droves…and if they are popping everywhere and you don’t like that.. just don’t bloghop on Mondays.. lol.. but I wouldn’t say that to you as it is your time right?

This is our 110th edition of Music Monday. Along the way, there were unrelated links from bloggers taking advantage of the traffic and there were people who just didn’t get the idea of how the meme works.  I added a few more rules just to keep it fair for the other participants and carried on till now. As in other memes, you are free to join and leave your links.
