Music Monday #127: Just The Way You Are (Boyce Avenue)

I was looking for video tonight not really knowing who or what song I was gonna feature. After 24hours of being awake and only sleeping for 4hrs, my brain does a slow waltz and everything moves in slow motion.

Anyway during my break yesterday, I managed to catch the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy and there was a song that I really like in the episode. I didn’t know the name of the song so I thought I just check out youtube and see whether I can find it there. I didn’t. Instead found this video instead. I absolutely love the video but what I really loved was the song. It is the song “Just The Way You Are”. However this is not the Bruno Mars version (thank God) but rather by a three member group called the “Boyce Avenue”. Like I say I loved it!! Take a listen and see how it differs from the original singer. You can actually hear the manliness oozing out from his voice.. so unlike Bruno’s (no offence Bruno’s fan)..lol!.. and oh don’t get distracted by the equally yummy man that is Patrick Demsey in the video.. hahaha!

PS: From the grapevine I heard that this version is being played more in the Malaysian airwaves. Is this true?

Ouch!

I hate acne and what’s worse is the kind that appears elsewhere than the face. I mean acne on the face is bad enough but acne on the back for instance, that must be torture as how on earth are you gonna to apply all those cream to make it go away right. I reckon you got to go and get some kind of back acne treatments to help you with the situation.

Ouch.. I feel for you guys who is suffering from this. Hugs!

Aging Gracefully

I think after reading about growth hormone reviews last night, I may need to get me some right now.. lol! Apparently I am not growing old as gracefully I would like. I am not wrinkling yet or anything (God forbid), but I can feel that I am getting tired more easily, needing more sleep than before and my joints sometimes makes this strange awful sounds whenever I straightened them after a long sitting session. Stubborn Blackheads

I woke up today refreshed even after a few hours of sleep only. I took my shower and was about to put on my moisturizer when I noticed all these blackheads on my nose. I bought the removal strips a month back but never really got the chance or rather never found time to do the regime.

So, today instead of putting on my face creme, I wet my nose and put on the strip instead. I reckon even with the best acne treatment to get rid of my acne spots, if I had a spotty nose, my face would still look blemished :(

I am so glad that I finally found time to deal with those blackheads. I might have to do another round though as I can still see some really embedded ones. Stubborn indeed.. kinda like me.. ahahah

Cold Cold Night

It’s been raining the whole day here today and when it rains where I am, it’s usually followed by very strong wind. The room thermometer is registering low temperature of 24degrees Celsius and I am already in my sweater and socks..lol! The kitties are all huddled up together with me on the sofa as I have parked myself in front of the tv with my laptop ready for a night of tv watching.

I still have some research to do on cheap car insurance for Azwaj but I reckon that is a no-brainer kinda of work. I just need to get some numbers and give them a call next week to see what they have to offer.

I Need It Fast

I am meeting up with some of my blogging buddies for a perfume launch this Thursday and all I can say is that I need to lose weight fast and I am on the lookout for any fastest working weight loss supplements. I need it fast and I need it to work like yesterday! I think I may have gain another kilo this week due to over eating caused by my “bestfriend’s” visit but I dare not get on that weighing machine.. Oh no!

Singapore Budget 2011

I received a tweet from my cousin telling me that the Singapore 2011 Budget is out and that as part of the Grow & Share’ Package, Singaporeans are getting a share from the fruits of last year’s exceptional economic growth and yes, that means I get money! lol!

Here are some of the areas where we, as Singaporean individuals, will enjoy the benefit:

1. Workfare Special Bonus ($224 million in FY2011, $226 million over 2 years thereafter)
2. Personal Income Tax Rebate
3. Child Development Credit
4. Top up to CPF Medisave Accounts for Seniors (which means mommy will get extra money in her medisave account)
5. Growth Dividends (I will get SGD800 big ones.. yihaa!!)
6. Utilities-Save and Service and Conservancy Charges Rebates (a savings of SGD360 in household water and electric bill for me)

PS: The amount differ for individuals as it depends on the kind of HDB housing we live in ~ the bigger your apartment is, the lesser you get.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a Singaporean.. heheh

Forced Exercise

One of the hassle of living in a high rise is when the mode of transportation that brings you from the ground floor to your floor fails. Yeap, I was referring to the lift or as some people might call it, elevator.

When we left to go grocery shopping yesterday, it was working just fine but when we return a few hours later, we found the lift lobby empty, which was a tad bit strange. Then only we found that the lift stopped working just after we left. So needless to say, we just grabbed our perishable stuff, and started climbing the flights of stairs to the 6th floor. Phew. that was some exercise. I feel healthy already.. lol!

Anyway, if we had known that was going to happened, we could have made a detour to town and grab that xerox phaser 8560 ink for A’s client because by evening the lift was alright again and we would not even had known it was not working in the first place.

Help! In Need of Image Hosting Plan

I was on the verge of logging out from my email account and retiring for the night when I got an urgent email from my US client. It seems her web-hosting company had suspended her account and her website has lost all images!

I instantly perked up again and over the next seven hours or so, set about to re-host all her images with another provider temporarily. If stress is any kind of fat burner, I think I lost 5kilos last night.. lol!…Her e-commerce site is up again for now but I am worried that the temporary image hosting site might suspend the account due to excessive use of bandwidth.

Now I am looking for an image hosting plan that is economical, reliable and most of all considerate enough to not just shut down an account without warning! The reason for the suspension was:

Suspension Reason: Using service for file hosting purposes

I have never heard of such a thing. Have you? Here’s the scenario:

1. Client is publishing own domain (client.com) site with an ecommerce site

2. Client has another web-hosting with another provider with another domain name (client2.com)

3. Client host banner images at client2.com, grabbed link and publish at client.com

4. Web hosting company suspend client after 4months use and till now still no response to client’s email

5. LJ lost sleep last night :(

Anyway, my question is this.. anyone knows of any good hosting provider that provides image hosting. I am now only understanding that web hosting and image hosting are two separate things :(

Unifi Down

Are you feeling the love here people. lol.. am loving the red background color and the love border to mark the love month of February :)

Anyway, my super fast internet connection decided today to shut down itself. We are hoping it’s just a glitch and when the technician comes tomorrow it will just be a touch and go kinda thing. However, we have been experiencing intermittent strong winds here so we are worried that some trees might have fallen or God forbid some commercial pumps have hit our telephone lines and cause the whole network here to go down. I am on another internet provider now and although it is not as fast the one I’m used to, at least I still have internet access and for that I am thankful.
