prAnd as the entry suggest.. let’s all see how we fare this time around.

LadyJava’s Lounge is now a beautiful 3 while Life’s Pages remains a two. The kitty blog dropped to where it was before its previous 3. Due to lack of updates on LadyJava Creations, it is now a modest 3. Both my blogspot blogs over at my make money blog and food blog dropped to a two while my woman blog remain beautiful at 0..lol! If my shopping blog ever dropped to zero, I might close it but for now it remains alive at 1. I am happy to say that my latest new love blog has a spanking new rank of one.

Father’s day was last weekend but here in Singapore, the event looks like it’s being celebrated throughout June which is excellent I think.  There are various contests to mark the occasion and winners of those contests are being announced intermittently during commercial break. Like I said, it’s an excellent idea as fathers are sometimes so neglected right?

Anyway, if you are still looking for something nice for Father’s day gift, you might want to consider the selection from the boys gifts at Personal Creations for instance. I know of some fathers who still are still boys are heart and love your gift from there.

weeds season 7

Each time we watched Weeds, from Season 1 right through to Season 6, one thing that we always looked forward to was the theme song, Little Boxes. If you watch the show you will noticed that from Season 2 onwards, each version of the song is different with each episode and to us, that is simply awesome. It is how such attention to details makes the show fantastic from the start to the end. I found a channel on youtube that, would you believe, feature most of the show different theme song.. simply brilliant! Take a listen to the original song version and the ones at the youtube channel (unfortunately embedding is unable for the channel) and let me know which version you love.

“Weeds” is scheduled to premiere it’s 7th season on 27th June 2011. I, for one, can’t wait!

Yeay.. I’m home from my surgery!!.. Suppose to be back yesterday but due to the fever that I had the night before the doctors wanted to put me under observation just in case. Anyway, my fever subsided and so here I am home. Home sweet home.

The stay at the hospital was really nice despite the fact I didn’t get the room I requested. The ward was spacious and well ventilated and it didn’t feel stuffy or uncomfortable at all although there were six of us in one ward. The bed was comfortable and most importantly there were no bed bugs. The hospital must be on effective pest control or using Ortho Home Defense Max BEDBUG Killer as there as no signs of other bugs too. Oh ya, when I arrived and just before I left the nurses also took swap of my nostril, underarm and in between my groin. When I asked them what the swap was for, the nurses told me it was to make sure I was not bringing in or out any germs from the hospital. Good practise indeed.

Anyway, back to the bed bugs, watch the video below should you want to know more about bed bugs or if you want tips on how to check if your bed has this offensive pest.

A growing pest problem, bed bugs are creepy, crawly and hard to kill.

LJ is back people!!

lolAt this moment in time I think I need a portable toilet more than I need ordinateurs portables .. lol! After my first round of laxative (as prescribed by my doctor in preparation for my surgery tomorrow) at 4pm, I had to run to the toilet for 11 times. That’s the amount of Sh*t i have in my body.. lol!.. Now the feeling to go has somewhat subside but guess what my next dose of laxative is supposed to be at 8pm. I reckon another marathon is in order.. lol!

Fun sh*tty day indeed!

hgtvI remember the first reality show I watched. It was called “Survivor” and I was addicted to it. The plots, the scheming, the alliances and the tribal council have all the making of “good tv”. Since then, reality tv has diversified, from strategic games, it has moved to the the bedroom and living rooms of real life people. Some people don’t like it but I love it.. lol!

I am already currently addicted to shows like “Masterchef”, “Hell’s Kitchen”, Project Runaway”. “American’s Top Model” and “Guiliana and Bill”, so what is one more to add to the list right. Introducing.. HGTV Design Star. Although it’s on its sixth season in the States, the show has never been aired here but after watching the trailer.. I sure wished it was. I’ve always loved home decorating and love watching “Restaurant Makeover” and “While You Were Out” and this show would sure be blast to watch as twelve designers battle it out with fantastic decorating ideas for a chance to host their own show on HGTV.

A star-studded panel of guest judges, including designers Thom Filicia, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, Nate Berkus and Kathy Ireland, as well as Food Network’s Paula Deen and Dina Manzo, event planner and former cast member of Real Housewives of New Jersey, HGTV Design Star returns for a sixth season on Monday, July 11, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

It’s no big secret that I am 42 this year. I think the reason why I am not worried about people knowing my age is because to me it’s just a number and most importantly is that I am always 21 at heart. After all I think I have a few good years before I have to really find out things like what is human growth hormone?…. lol!! Anyway according to this “How Old is My Body” quiz from Blogthings, my body is only 37years old so I reckon that is not a bad number at all.

Your Body is 37 Years Old

Your body is younger than it should be. Congratulations! You’re taking good care of yourself, and it’s definitely paying off.

Whether it’s by accident or by choice, you’re living a very healthy lifestyle.

Keep it up, and you’re likely to live a long, vibrant life.

silver ringMy mom will not be caught dead wearing silver jewellery. She grew up in a time when gold and diamond is the jewelry of choice and anything other than that is not acceptable. It’s not wrong of course coz everyone have their own preferences. For me, however.. I wear everything, from gold to diamond and silver to platinum, as long as they look good on me, I put them on. I also suit them to what occasion, event and outfit I’ll be wearing. Of course there are times I don’t even wear one piece of jewelry as what I was wearing (clothes) was statement enough.. lol!

The last pieces of silver jewellery that I bought were two silver bracelets that I found on my last trip back home. They were so pretty and on sale that it was almost sinful to not buy them. I would have bought silver chains too to but decided against it when something else caught my eye.. hehe..

Silver braceletAnyway, caring for silver jewellery is not as easy as gold. With my gold jewellery, I can just put them in my jewellery case and forget about them and a year later I will still see them in the same condition as before. With silver, you need to make sure you store them correctly as oxidation can cause them to tarnish. One way to avoid that is to wear them often and you may even end up with a lovely patina  but then if you’re like me, you like to match your jewellery with what you are wearing so that might mean you won’t wear them as much as you like to. One way to avoid tarnish would also be to invest in a “tarnish-free” jewellery box as well and remember  to store silver jewellery in their own containers to avoid scratches. You would also do well to remember to remove any silver jewellery you have on if you intend to jump into a mineral spa or risk that previous jewellery turning black when you leave the spa.

Silver is also used to celebrate 25th anniversary much like aluminium is used for 10th anniversary and gold is used to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Lots of couples mark their Silver Jubilee milestone marriage with gifts made from silver and shower their loved ones with all that  radiance and brilliance.

Stunning Silver, treated right, can last for a very long time. Do you have any silver jewellery. How long has yours lasted?

I just had the longest trip I ever had between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. I left Singapore at 1.30pm and arrived KL at 10.30pm! Normally this trip would only take around 5-6hrs only.

Not really sure as to what may have caused the traffic jam but it might have been because it was a weekend and the Singapore school holidays. Whatever it was, there were so many cars both with Singapore and Malaysian plates and it started almost 5 minutes after we left Singapore checkpoint. Good thing I had loaded up my fav soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, on my phone so that kept me occupied for a good 2hrs though I had to stop watching as my battery was running low. The rest of the wait, I had to read the coach onboard magazine and check out some of the ads which I must say were pretty interesting. At least now I know where to find graduation announcements invites :)
