Music Monday #175: California King Bed (Rihanna)

I was watching Victoria Secret 2011 Fashion show on tv yesterday with Azwaj (who was noodling on his guitar) and during the Passion line, this wonderful song came on as an accompaniment to the line. Azwaj started playing along and we both fell in love with the song but since we didn’t know the singer or the song, we went on to youtube searching. We were not successful so… I used this app called Shazam and within a few seconds I got the singer and the title of the song. This app basically “listen” to the song being played and match it within their database.

So here is California King Bed by Rihanna.. Enjoy people and Happy Music Monday!

Man-Power

It was NOT cleaning day for me but it was one for Azwaj. He helped Abah yesterday with some gardening chores yesterday. It’s been so windy lately that a lot of Abah’s plants pots has toppled over and since Abah is not as strong as before, he needed the strength of his only son. Both Abah and Azwaj also cleaned the little fish fountain in his garden and according to Azwaj, they may need to do some window shopping at WeGotPumps.com goulds pump soon. The pump need to be replaced or the fish got to go. Abah still is still undecided.

Anyway, I am planning a trip back to Singapore on 2nd Feb. Yeay!

Music Monday #174: Gong Xi Fa Cai

If last week was cleaning week, this week will be relaxing week for sure. With the weekend here, thanks to the Chinese New Year holidays, me and Azwaj are looking forward to some nice RnR time NOT cleaning.. lol!

Really @mymaybank ? RM0.09 pun nak?

Last month, while paying my full balance amount on my Maybank credit card via online banking, I accidentally missed out RM0.09 from the balance. I only realised it after I printed out my payment receipt. There were two things I can do. One is to pay off the RM0.09 and also incur the additional RM1.50 imposed by my bank or two, try to call Maybank and see if they write off the RM0.09 from my balance.

So I waited for the payment to clear and called them a week later. However, I was told by the customer service that writing off the RM0.09 would not be possible at all citing some reason which was totally stupid to me. I mean I know I am just a small fish but still I’m still a customer fish, all the same. I was in awe, to say the least. I mean Maybank is willing to potentially lose a customer over RM0.09. When I wanted to speak to someone more senior, she said I could email to them and see if there is anything that can be done. So I did. That was on 5th January but till now I, not only didn’t get a reply email on the status, I also did not receive any acknowledgement.

Today I checked my statement and saw that damn RM0.09 balance still there and I’m sure if I don’t pay them by the due date, 2nd Feb, Maybank will slap me with a late charge that will cost me more than actual balance. Unbelievable right?

Oh well, I guess my RM0.09 is paying someone’s salary over there right?

My Wants

I love jewellery, but then again what woman doesn’t right. Anyway check out this titanium accessories that I found while “letting my fingers do the walking”. I love this piece and since Azwaj has been buying things online and it is getting delivered nicely here without any incident, I may very well order this nice piece to add to my collection.

Starry Eyed?

We found out yesterday that our friend has had a heart attack on Sunday. We don’t know the details but we know he had surgery yesterday as well. Azwaj and myself and a few other friend are going to visit him today to see how he is. We do hope he’ll have a speedy recovery.

On another note, there seems to be some sort of movie or drama shooting at my condo building. I found out later from the maintenance office that they rented out a unit on the 14th floor for one whole month. The foyer which is usually very quiet is now buzzing with activities from the crew that was taking time off in-between shoots. There is also this lorry that apparently is running a generator to supply the extra power for the lighting all the way to the 14th floor. If I didn’t know any better and if there was men with abrasives belts running around, I would have thought there was some metalwork going on. Oh well.. hope to see some actors or actress soon.. lol!

Me and Azwaj are doing a little bit of spring cleaning in our study and our house is a mess right now. The kitties are screaming to come out but of course that can’t happen since we have tons of stuff in the living room. We are hoping to get all done by tomorrow so that life can go on as usual.. lol!

WordPress Upgrade

I learned a thing or two when I upgraded my current WordPress to the latest version.

Firstly the most apparent was that that I was not able to view or compose post. When using Firefox, the box was there but the text was like there on minute and disappear the next. I checked with another browser,  Chrome,  and all was fine, so at least I didn’t panic.

Then as I was checking out the new options available, I got an error saying that my blog was not available. Now I started to panic. It said something about “wp-config” config error. My first instinct was to google for a solution but since this was urgent and I didn’t want any downtime, I contacted my web hosting company instead via their chat and I was lucky enough to get one very helpful chap. He checked my url and after looking at the files via ftp, he noticed that the permission level was altered. I was puzzled and still am till now how that happened but he offered to change the permission setting back to the correct one which is 755.

Anyway, I upgraded another one of my blogs today and the only problem I still see is the disappearing blog post on compose mode so I reckon I will wait before upgrading the rest of my blogs.

The moral of the story? Wait for the latest version of WordPress to stabilize before upgrading, the next is to get a great hosting company with a great chat service. Find some great hosting review and choose from the top hosting company only.
