7.00am.
Hubby and me figured after breakfast we retire for the day. Since the fasting month started, we have been keeping awake whole nights till just after our early meal at 4.30am and our prayers at 6am. We still have not kicked the habit yet and yesterday was no different.
7.15am
Hubby was still with his ciggy and we are still yakking away.
7.30am
SMS from hubby’s phone??!! Hmm.. wonder who it was??
7.31am
Hubby reached for the phone and what do you know it was his mom, my MIL. The message said “Good morning. Your father and I was at your sister’s place yesterday for Raya and if possible would like to visit you and your wife today :-)”
To some of you this might be no big deal but for us it was like “WOW!”. This is the first time ever we got such a message from them to visit on Raya. Usually it has always be an impromptu visit on other days, but this was Raya…and my house was in shambles…. We were not expecting anyone.. especially THEM! lolzz
The next hour or so was spent in frenzy mode. All that sleepiness disappear. We both felt refreshed from all that adrenalin rush. As we did not know what time they were coming, we started to clean the house. I vacuumed while the hubby washed the balcony. Then hubby left to buy “Lemang” another raya delicacy..I took in the laundry (it was raining the day before so the laundry are all in the living area lah)
Then the phone rang again.. It was 9am… “We are on the way”…. alamak….I have not even started to mop the floor. I called hubby… “they’re coming.. they’re coming..hurry home”
I mopped the floor like superwoman… then I went round the house with a towel to dry it fast… wow.. what an exercise.. and with no sleep!
Hubby came home… I showered… he showered…
9.30am
“Ding Dong… we’re here :-)”
The rest of day went without any hitches …. We all had a nice raya visit chit chatting about the cats…heheh.. what else kan.. coz no kids lahh..
Mama, Abah.. in case you are reading this… we had a nice time today playing host. Thank you for visiting us this Raya and we hope this is a start of new tradition :-)
Love ya…
From D’Chaks :-)
