Move over Paris, pack a bag London, see you later New York because there’s a new style icon in town! This year, and probably most of next, Japanese fabrics, styles and origami inspired clothing collections are dominating the catwalks as the heart of Asia promotes its gorgeous silks, wools, and cotton, making lounge wear look better than a high-end couture gown. Japanese designers and manufactures have created butter soft, smooth and oh so wearable items that hopefully’ll firmly shut the doors on tight, uncomfortable fashion forever!

Overnight Luxury

Inspired by people’s weekend trips and the short to Onsen’s, or Japanese bathhouses located in the mountains. Theatre Products, a prominent Japanese designer, presented their casual, capsule collection in partnership with Nakaden Keori. Whose textile factory in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture focuses on producing luxury mixed weave and woven material in a wrinkle-resistant fabric that’s perfect for soft, linen shirts, casual Palazzo and wide leg trousers and velvety, luxurious cashmere sweaters.

A standout feature of the collection was the fact that none of the items would need ironing, or steaming after having been squashed into a small bag, or holdall and customers would be able to wear any outfit straight away. Other fabrics have been created using specialist manufacturing techniques that give them a more ridged surface while improving the stretch quality of the material itself which, in turn, gives you a more fluid, wearable garment.

If you’re looking for a wrinkle resistant, satin soft and sweat-absorbent T-Shirt, then look no further than A-Girl’s unique garment that’s making waves across the world. They’re light, can be worn with just about anything and is sure to be a sure fire hit with trendsetters everywhere. Vice President, Tomohiro Yamashita, is so confident in his product  A-Girl uses the T-shirt fabric in dresses, tops, and skirts for their own brand. Fancy trying out one of their sleek, stylish T-shirts? Head on over to t-shirts select your size and then step out in aviator shades, a pair of skinny blue jeans, some hoop earrings like these ones available at and a gorgeous mittente trench and you’ll have spring fashion nailed!

Home Grown Success

It’s not just Nakaden Keori who’ve found fame with their fabrics as eager journalists, and industry buyers alike clamored for samples. Other designers including Calvin Klein have launched collections with Japanese denim, and Los Angeles brand James Perse uses Tokyo-based manufacturer A-Girl’s Co to produce their statement T-shirts. The Asian influence doesn’t end there either, Komatsu Seiren Co in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, uses the fabric it supplies to European designers for its own brand, mittente.

Their cute, colorful trench coats are a must for fashionistas as well as those looking for a coat that stays dry as these garments have been created with water-repellent and wind-resistant material which makes them the most desirable raincoat ever. Over the next few months, you’ll also start to see Japanese influences everywhere from clothes, kitchenware, and decor trends to noodle based fast food and Asian/ European fusion dishes!

Do you love to find unique items of clothing that nobody you know has? Do you wish there were more options on the high street? These days, there are so many sheep. People just wear what looks popular on Instagram. They go through fads. It’s boring! One thing I love about clothing is that you can use it to express your personality and what you’re all about, but you can’t do that in clothing that everybody else has. So, why not create your own? It might sound difficult, but you can have a lot of fun doing it and you’ll end up with some unique creations. It might be a little trial and error and first, but pretty soon you could be a pro at creating your own unique clothes. Here are some tips to help you get started:

Source Materials

To make your own unique clothes, you first need to source materials. There are all kinds of different places you can find materials, from markets to online wholesalers. You might want to have an idea of what you’re making first, or you might want to stock up on materials and go wild. It’s up to you! It will usually help if you know what you’re going to make so you know how much of what to buy. Make sure you pick materials you think you can work with. Don’t bite off more than you can chew in the beginning! You can also buy materials to further make your creations look unique, such as beads, gems, iron on patches, and more. If you want something that looks completely unique, try heading to vintage stores and using the materials you find there. You won’t want to pull apart a vintage gem, but if you find something that looks a little too worn, then you could make something with that. Reworked vintage items can look awesome, and you won’t find that material anywhere else!

Find Inspiration If You Need it

If you need inspiration, there are plenty of tutorials online you can work with. You can then tweak what they’ve done to suit you and make something totally brand new. You can learn pretty much everything you need to know for free online, no need to pay lots of money to do a course. After just a few minutes of searching online for inspo, you should have a ton of ideas. It won’t be long before you’re coming up with your own ideas and people are asking you for advice.

Research the Best Equipment to Help You

If you’re going to start creating your own clothes, having equipment to help you is a good idea. Some people might be able to do it with nothing but a pair of scissors, a needle, and some thread. That being said, most people like to buy a sewing machine to help them. You can read a Quilter’s review alongside other reviews to help you decide what the best machine for you is. You want one you can work with easily. That probably doesn’t mean buying the fastest model you can get your hands on. As well as a sewing machine, you’ll need different threads, a good pair of scissors, and a tape measure. You can find a list of things you need here.

Start Small

Don’t try to make something too complicated right away. It might not look that complicated on paper, but you want to prove to yourself you can make something simple before you jump into the deep end. As you get more confident with the methods and your equipment, you can create larger items. Being confident in your abilities is great, but you don’t want to ruin an expensive piece of material when you’re just starting out. There are usually ways you can start over if you really mess it up, but you still need to be careful.

Practice really does make perfect! There are a bunch of different methods and techniques, so try them out and see what you prefer. You might not be very good at first, but that doesn’t mean you’ll always be that way. Everybody has to start somewhere.

Find Clothing Patterns

You can find clothing patterns that will make it easier for you to work with. With clothing patterns, you’ll learn how to gauge the amount of material you need, as well as how to cut your pieces so they fit together properly. You don’t always need a pattern, but for the novice clothing maker they can help. You can find some of them for free, but you might have to pay for some of them. You’ll still save money making something yourself though, so don’t be put off!

Rework Your Own Clothes

Another option you have is reworking your own clothes. Take a look in your wardrobe and have a look at things that you just don’t wear anymore. You can use these for practice. You never know, you might create something amazing with them! You can do simple things like cutting the sleeves off and cropping the length, or you can take the material you’ve got and transform it into something completely different. You can pretty much create any look you like with a pair of scissors. You can cut jeans into shorts, long tops into crops. You can take a simple t-shirt and make it pretty much any style you like! Just make sure you practice with something you don’t really care about first, just incase. Again, there are lots of YouTube tutorials. You can use dye to create different patterns too. You could take your whole wardrobe and make it look totally different, in theory!

See, creating your own unique clothes can be loads of fun. You have all kinds of options, so start exploring them and see what kinds of things you can make. The only limit is your imagination! If you’ve tried any of these tips, let me know how they’ve worked for you. Leave your thoughts and ideas below – I’d love to hear them! Thanks for reading.

Feng Shui, if you happen not to know about is, is an ancient Chinese philosophy that helps and gives advice for people on everyday life matters. And it also takes space in your wardrobes since you are probably not wearing them either. Also, get rid of all the clothing you bought a few sizes smaller with the intention to fit in one day. As Feng Shui says, black is a color of authority and is worn by judges and members of the clergy – and it makes you feel powerful sometimes as well. But black also associates with sadness and mourning. That attracts bad energy you don’t need. I don’t suggest you get rid of all the black pieces, but at least try wearing just one accent rather than the whole black outfit. You will be able to enjoy black the same, but without attracting bad thoughts and energy to you.

Black clothing

  • Another thing you should take a look at while working on your clothing and wardrobe is how many red clothing pieces you own. Feng Shui proposes that more read colored clothing you wear – the more good energy you attract and the more successful you become. Moreover, red symbolizes prosperity, fame and relationships, and it is also considered to be romantic in our culture! So then you are going to a date, or even to a serious business meeting, pulling a bright red shirt can affect your mood and the way you present yourself. The fashion industry is always seen to produce new trends every season and it can be hard to catch up to them. Fashion lovers may fall in love all the fantastic new designs created by designers but one thing that they should know is to always purchase something which works for you. Some people shop new fashion items based on the beauty of the items, some shop because they find it perfect for a certain question while others buy on impulse purchase behavior. However, you do not want to waste your time and energy buying items which does not look good on you despite the price. It does not matter what the price is but as long as it fits your fashion criteria, it will be the perfect choice. Below are three fashion stylist tips which every woman should take into account on.

  1. Choose according to your body type

Have you always fall into the trick that some clothes you lay your eyes on look perfect on the plastic dolls at retail stores? Or how good it looks on a model in a magazine? Yes, we have all fallen into the bait and often make the wrong selection of clothes which looks awful on us. It can be hard to admit by some but not all clothes will fit us nicely and as we expect it to be. So be aware of your body figure and choose something which works personally for your body type.

  1. Know your patterns

Everyone all should know the rule of patterns by a certain age as it had become a hot topic a few years ago. However, if you happen to forget the rule, go for the basics. Vertical patterns for a slimmer effect, horizontal for a full effect and asymmetric create a balance body curve. No body looks good in all patterns, so be smart and flaunt the ones which enhance your beauty.

  1. The Power of Accessories

Accessories are crucial to transform an outfit into an improved appearance. Whether a necklace, bracelets or earrings, mix match it with anything you wear and step out feeling confident all day. From a dull simple look, accessories sure have that additional element which can turn your outfit into a newer look in a matter of seconds.

Jewelry is often used to make a statement. The wide variety of fine jewelry available allows people to capture a piece of their personality in the bracelet, ring or other piece of ornaments they wear. Some personalities prefer visually outspoken pieces; others prefer fine subtleties to their rings, watches and necklaces.

For a truly personal touch and for something that helps define them, many are turning to coin jewelry. For example, a person placing a high priority on protecting wildlife and endangered animals may have a necklace made using a commemorative panda coin, as the panda is the symbol for endangered species. Those seeking to carry a religious ornament may have a bracelet made from a coin depicting a crucifix or a patron saint.

Others may see a rare coin encased in precious metals and worn as carrying a piece of history with them. Many coins were minted to memorialize a historical event or an important person in history. Rather than keeping the historical piece in a drawer or a safe, it can be displayed on their person and become a conversation piece. Coin pieces usually catch the eye of a friend or associate.

Coin jewelry can be made into any number of things:

  • Necklaces
  • Pendants
  • Bracelets or charms
  • Money clips
  • Watch faces

Fine jewelers will normally encase the coin in precious metals to highlight the coin selected. Gold, silver and platinum are good choices. The pieces are often made in the jeweler’s shop and can be custom made with coins owned by the purchaser, or by coins selected by the jeweler.

Before retaining a jeweler to make a piece of coin jewelry, a purchaser should inspect some of his or her work. Look for quality in the piece and the ingenuity employed by the maker. A rare coin deserves a proper setting and one experienced in making coin pieces will have an idea of how the coin should be set. Inspecting the previous pieces made will often give the buyer ideas on how they want their piece to look. If you’re tired of the same hair style, then why not try clip-in hair extensions? These are an easy way to have a different look every day of the week if you want. The extensions come in various colors from your typical shades of hair to colors like blue and red. You can wear the extensions for a multitude of occasions. Some girls wear them for prom to make the hair longer. You can style the hair as usual after adding the extensions, of you can style the hair and add the extensions later to create depth.

If you want feathery bangs, then clip on a small extension to the front of the hair. Go for an elegant look if you are going out for a special event by adding extensions that are curled. If you are tired of short hair, then add a ponytail extension to create the illusion that your hair has grown in a short amount of time. The next day you can add a different piece for a short hair style. Hair extensions easily clip to the underside of the hair so that others can’t see the top of the extension. You can wash the extension like normal hair.

Do you need to pick out a tux to wear to the prom? Maybe you are looking for one to wear in a wedding, either your own wedding or one that you are in for someone else. No matter why you need to get a tux, you have to be able to choose the right one. There are many different things to consider, and finding the ideal outfit is only possible if you think through each different aspect.

1. The Size
It starts with the size of the tux. You have to get measured by a professional because they need special measurements for a tux. You cannot just go in, tell them what size of pants you wear, and assume that they will be able to find you something that fits. Getting measured should also be the first step because it helps you see what tuxes are even available for you to rent.

2. The Main Color
Next, you have to pick the main color. Black is the most traditional and the most expected out of all of them. However, you may be looking to make a splash and get some attention. Many people rent tuxes in different colors, like pink or green, when they want to stand out. You have to decide what your end goal is and where you are going to be wearing the tux. Of course, the type that you would pick for the prom could be very different than what you would pick to wear in a wedding.

3. The Secondary Color
You then have to pick the secondary color, which will be used on things like the vest or the undershirt. It may also be present on the bow tie and the cummerbund. This color acts as a highlight. Typically, you will wear white, but you can pick from a whole host of other colors. Wedding parties will often use the secondary color to tie in with the color of the dresses that the girls are wearing in the bridal party.

4. The Accessories
The last thing to consider is what accessories you want. You can get a bow tie and a cummerbund, as mentioned above, and you can also get cufflinks and things of that nature. It is up to you, but these things are going to add a lot to the overall style of the outfit, so they should match your other choices.
