Double Dutch Ice CreamMy diet right now is far from diets for quick weight loss for sure. Just last weekend we were at our local supermarket and as I glanced back at our purchases, which consisted of instant coffee, potato chips, instant pies, burgers, “roti prata” and the twin pack of “double dutch” flavoured ice cream, I’m thinking to myself, I’m so screwed.. lol! Where are all my healthy items? Where are the food that are high in nutrients and low on the fat? hahah..

The answer? They are all still on the shelves! lol!

Just when I thought I was going to go on a Solo Slim diet, I found this stall that sells my all time favorite fish and I actually went for second helping! I would love to tell you the name of this fish but unfortunately I can’t coz I don’t know the name of the fish… lol!

It’s funny really because both me and mommy refers to this fish as “ikan pecal” because that is the name of the dish though we have no idea what the fish is called.. so please if anyone out there recognizes this fish and know it’s name, let me know now so I can go to the market and ask for it rather than only buy on sight… hhahaha.

What goes best with chocolate ice-cream? Why.. the answer is crystal clear.. BANANA or course. And that is what we had, diced bananas with triple chocolate ice-cream with nuts. Oh it was simply yummy! I don’t know if that makes the banana a little unhealthy but what the heck.. at least there’s vitamin C in this dessert! lol!

Ice Cream
and…. I can always work the calories off with those Kettlebells! lol!!

I was bitching ranting about my disappointment the other day on how my new favorite noodle dish, Kolok, had no sauce for me to enjoy.

Well today, when I returned to the stall, the stall owner apologized and gave me two packs of sauce..eheheh..

In case you guys are wondering what dish I’m talking about.. head on over to my food blog ok..

I had an unexpected visitor today. It was my sister-in-law, my niece and my nephew. They had just bought SIMS2 and they were having some problems with the installation. So who would they turn to? None other than the one and only Ayah Chak ie Azwaj ie hubby!

Anyway seeing that it was last minute, I did not have a chance to cook anything but I still had the ingredients for my now famous Mug/Casserole Cake that I decided to bake them some. And guess what it was a hit! lolz!

Again thank you to my lil’chef cop for the wonderful cake. Now I can enjoy it anytime and so can my guests sengihnampakgigi!

Sunday, July 27, 2008

What a busy Sunday! I had errands to run, housework to do, assignments to finish and a mug-cake to bake! Yeah, I got the ingredients all ready and now just waiting for the right time to bake it. That baking time came at 4am in the morning. While chatting with Debbie on YM, Azwaj came up from behind me and asked when he’s gonna get his mug cake. That was a cue to me to say he was hungry..lolzz!!

So I excuse myself from Debbie and went straight to the kitchen. Now you guys know how small my kitchen is, right? So it was a great thing that this baking session won’t take up much place otherwise I got to use those extra tall stools or the counter stools to place all the ingredients. Anyway, before I proceed, I can’t say my thanks enough to Sushi who blogged about his experience baking the mug cake. After I get his permission, I will publish the recipe over at my food blog ok.

Anyway, I followed his instructions to the letter, meaning when he said, levelled, I made sure it was levelled! And the cake came out superb! It was fluffy and absolutely DELISH! The only different thing I did different was instead of using a mug, I used my casserole dish instead simply because I’m not sure if any of my mug can be used in the microwave oven. I mean, I wouldn’t want to break a mug, destroy my microwave and not have a mug-cake all at the same time!

So, can you believe in 15minutes, both me and Azwaj were seated on our kitchen bar stools and was able to enjoy the cake at 4.15am in the morning? Talk about me being LaJu!.. (that’s fast in Malay).. Enjoy the pictures and please have a piece!!

For most of you that come by this blog, you would know about my occasional cravings. Well, ok.. constant cravings..lol… for Cheesecake, Roti Sardin and even Nandos. Well guess what, this time around it’s chocolate. Yeap.. chocolate and we have Sushi to blame for it gelakguling

Ever since visiting our cute lil’cop Sushi, I’ve been eyeing that Mug-Cake and waiting for the opportune time to make one and since that time has not materialized yet, I’ve been having chocolate drinks, chocolate bars and chocolate ice-cream!

Now, can you believe I’m simply just ogling at chocolates over at this website I’ve stumbled upon this morning! Ahh what can I say?.. I’m in chocolate heaven with all the selection that can be found over at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates! Delish!!

Yes! It’s that time of the year for Durians, the king of Fruits! Ever since I moved to Malaysia, I’ve been spoilt for selection. From big durians to small durians.. from cheap to the more expensive ones.. I can have it all!

However, my all time favorite, I have to say, are the small ones. They call it “Durian Kampung” here or durians from the village. They are cheap but yet so so good.. emphasis on the good!!! I just got some yesterday and for RM10 I got 6 of those delicious things! If you want to see the size of these durian.. come on over to my food blog. I got a video of Azwaj opening them all!

OMG! It’s been a while since me and Azwaj actually go out during the day. Like noon-ish kinda of timing. We either leave early in the day or real late in the afternoon. However, today, seeing how I have not even gotten my coach ticket to Singapore for tomorrow and my mom’s medicine is still not collected yet, we decided to leave around 10am. After all that’s around the time the pharmacy opens anyway.

First stop was Azwaj’s office, to settle some office work before I leave for the whole week. Then it was to the bank, then to one of the pharmacy to collect one type of medication. Then Yong Tau Foo Lunch… yummy… After that followed by buying of the coach ticket, then to the other pharmacy. We decided today to do all errands today by bike. Much faster definitely. It was so hot though that I was practically melting under the hot sun.

Ahh feels so good to be home again, in my air-conditioned study with a cup of hot tea next to me. I have some eye candy of you guys as well.. My Lunch….lolzzz!

.. is Roti Sardin! It is cheap (definitely cheaper than cheesecake). It is delicious and I think equally sinful in terms of fat! I had it for breakfast, for lunch and now for supper!!!

I was over at the supermarket today and I saw this fruit that looked similar to the dragon fruit I’m used to seeing and having when I was in Vietnam. So remembering the yummylicious taste, I decided to purchase it. After all it was only RM3.95 for four pieces, which is pretty cheap.

So once we got home, I cut it open and instead of white flesh like the ones I’m used to seeing, the flesh was bright purple. I seriously don’t know if they coloured the fruit or something but the taste was just as yummy as I remembered it.

So anyone else have ever seen or tasted this purple dragonfruit before??

Before I started drinking that darn coffee, I was a true blue tea drinker. I probably got the habit coz my late father loved to drink tea. It was his staple drink and because of that we always had tea in the house. In fact, I was the designated tea maker.

I remember when I was in junior college, how I always had tea and cookies or cream puff ready for my parents when they come home from the stall. It was sort of our high tea moments. We were probably making the Tea Company rich with all that tea drinking in the household. Lolz. Gosh, I even had tea in my tumbler for school.
tabolic rate and boost your energy level. That is why you see this product being used in lots of weight loss and toning products. Studies have even shown that you can even lower your cholesterol levels just by drinking this wonderful beverage.

If I recalled correctly I read somewhere that green tea also helps with Gingivitis which is a condition where the gums recede back of the teeth and bleed. Drinking green tea actually helps by blocking the growth of bacteria in our mouth which is causing this medical condition.

Among all the different blended tea, for me, the hardest tea to swallow would be green tea but nowadays with them being infused with flavors such as Earl Grey and berries, they are a delight to drink. I always have mine with sugar or honey however, coz I can never really take black tea. It’s a taste to be acquired I guess and I’ve never acquired it.

Tea has always been a comfort drink for me. I have it in different flavor for different moods and moments and it will always have a special place on my palate.

Have a cup with me??…
