The first time I read about stem cell was when I was in my gynae’s office for my yearly checkup. After reading the pamphlet about how stem cell would be able to help with Alzheimer’s, brain tumors, diabetes and even burns, I was really in awe and I thought that it was a great idea to do if ever I got pregnant. Never in my wildest dream did I thought that it was possible to do so even without being pregnant until I heard about C’elle.

Imagine being able to harvest stem cell monthly from our menstrual blood. The thought making you feel all gooey? But indeed it’s true. The female body produces millions of stem cell monthly and so far this has all gone to waste. Now it is possible with C’elle. Don’t just believe me, learn more About the Science and listen to C’elle Client Testimonial at their site and hear how this simple procedure could very well save the life of yours and your loved ones.

You know, I was just writing in my woman blog how upset I was that Azwaj had lost like 8 kilos in three month through no dieting whatsoever. I mean how can I not get upset as although he eats slightly more than me, though he does not know it, coz I do all the scooping of the rice and all, he still managed to lose all that weight. And the thing was that he does not need to lose weight at all! I DO! So I’m getting my hands on all the diet pill reviews available out there to see which is the best one for me so I can get one immediately. No fair at all! Perhaps I should take up smoking… or at least that what a lot of ladies do to keep the weight off right?? Lolz!!

STROKE : Remember
The 1st Three Letters….S.T.R.

My nurse friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

Seriously… Please read:

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) …..she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Ingrid’s husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital – (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don’t die…. they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this…

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today)

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke ——– Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another ‘sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person to ‘stick’ out his tongue.. If the tongue is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

Let’s save some lifes peeps..Happy Sunday!.

I’ve had this huge ulcers since the beginning of the week and now that is healing (I think), it is becoming more painful. It is right smack on the inside of my lips and everytime I talk and my teeth rub against it, my eyes would welled up because of the pain. Even brushing my teeth nowadays is such a challenge. I used to put Bonjela on it but as I noticed the relief is only temporarily, I stopped using it altogether.

I’m going out in a while to go check out some swing sets with my SIL and probably hit the pharmacy to try to get anything to numb the pain. Anyone with any suggestions?

Since we are typing our words, I figured I better share this with you peeps. Don’t want anyone to get CTS!

After every hour of typing, take a five minute break. During that break, put your palms together as if you were going to pray. Then, slowly flex your hands left and right for 30 seconds. Next, invert your hands so that the backs of your hands are pressed together and your fingers are pointing downwards. Gently press your hands together. Repeat these exercises after every hour of typing.

I used to have this funky looking keyboard at work. At first it really needed getting used to but after I was used to it, I needed to get used to the traditional one.

No one wanted to use my terminal as they “can’t” type on it which was fine by me. Those consultants love to sit at my secretarial terminal for some reason!

Here I am getting ready for my trip back to SG and what happens? I came down with the cold and sniffles. It hasn’t bloomed into any fever or anything but my body and head is starting to ache big time. I don’t even have the appetite to eat anything. What’s worse is Azwaj is also coming down with something, which is not surprising, coz he always comes down with something when I schedule a trip back to SG..heheh..

I hope this bug goes away, and goes away soon coz no point going back if I’m gonna be sick right?

Sigh…

My midnight buddy, GP, is not feeling well. She has got the flu bug and is now, although recovering, still has terrible bouts of coughing and runny nose. Well I got this email just in the
NEW USE FOR VICKS VAPORUB nick of time I think and would like to share it with GP and you, my readers. I’ve yet to try it out but who knows, it might work to ease the coughing. Of course, lay low on the coffee as well ya!! Yes, I see that coffee mug next on your desk..lolzz!! senyumkenyit

NEW USE FOR VICKS VAPORUB

This works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research Council (who discovered it) aren’t sure why.

To stop night-time coughing in a child (or an adult, as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and then cover with socks.

Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about five minutes, and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. This works 100 percent of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition, it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

I heard the head of The Canada Research Council describe these findings by their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure.

I just happened to tune in to a.m. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical make-up of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime and in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100 percent! She said it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her. The coughing stopped in a few minutes, and believe me, this was a deep (incredibly annoying – every few seconds!), uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it.

If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at the effect.

So, try it out ya GP and let me and the rest know if it really worked.. In the meantime, take care…cium peluk

Lots of love…

When I went for my fibroid removal surgery earlier this year, my hospital bill came up to a whooping RM9500! That was not even for a single room. I was sharing with three others patients in the maternity ward. I’m not complaining but I was wondering if Azwaj or me had any health insurance, we could have avoided such a exorbitant amount.

It is not our culture here to get health insurance because I guess a lot of us are employees and our companies have those covered for us already. This is the case for my SIL who was admitted just recently and because her husband was an employed personnel, his company’s health insurance covered for all hospital bill. The company that I worked for in Singapore before had the same kind of insurance as well. We also have what we call a “medisave” account that as employees working in Singapore, we had to contribute monthly to. We can use the funds in case we are ever hospitalised, although it does have to be a Singapore hospital.

In my case, Azwaj’s company, which is his own, does not have such fringe benefits coz the company is young and there’s not too many staff yet. So we had to pay out of our own pocket. I’m just wondering now, going forward, if we should really look into health insurance. After all you never know what might happen in the future.

Having said that, you might want to check out NC health insurance. The site is able to give you a custom tailored plans in three easy steps. So check it out wont’ you senyum

A friend of Azwaj was promoting this health supplement that has Mangosteen as a primary ingredient. Mangosteens are supposed to be good for people with allergies and sinus problem. His own son who has very bad sinus seems to have it under control now.

So I bought a bottle today to see if it indeed can do wonders for my allergies. Currently I am on Zyrtec and although I take it only once a week, I still feel that is not a good solution for my problem. Hopefully I found my answer in this natural remedy. Will update you as I go along ok..

Oh by the way, I also read mangosteens are also good for controlling diabetes and arthritis..Nat can you please confirm this?? Thanks dearie :)

I’ve always believed in skin care. Even though I have basically a clear complexion, a proper skin care regime has always been of the utmost importance to me as I know I will freak out at the first sign of acne. Call me vain but this is the only skin I’ve got and if I don’t take care of it, who would?

However, there are people out there who are not as lucky as me. By that I mean, having sensitive and problem skin like teenage acne or even adult ones and needing some form of acne treatment at one point or another. Having the right treatment early on will definitely help to suppress the situation and finding the right product will help you to curb any outbreak in the future.

So love your skin, take care of it and do whatever you have to keep it lovely. After all it’s the only skin you’ve got.

One thing I love about living in Malaysia is the ease to get prescription medicine at any pharmacy. If you are a Singaporean, you know what I mean right? Can you imagine that in order for me to purchase my Ventolin Inhaler or Seretide Accuhaler in Singapore, I got to get it either at my doctor’s or I need a prescription from the doctor to buy it at any pharmacy. Can you imagine if I was outside, forgotten to bring along my ventolin inhaler, got an asthma attack and instead of being able to just buy the inhaler at any pharmacy, get the puff and I’ll be alright, I probably have to go to the hospital instead and waste precious time while doing that?

Here in Malaysia, I just go to say Pharmacy A, tell them what I want and pay at the counter. No mess, no fuss. I even buy my mom’s Seretide Accuhaler (another asthma medicine) here in Malaysia and bring it back to SG when I return. It is even cheaper here.

But you know what would be more perfect? It would have to be if I could buy those medicines online just like the way some lucky people are able to buy prescription drugs in MagicxPharmacy. All they need to do is select their item and after filling up a short questionnaire, submit their order of say mircette and alesse online. A reputable physician on their side would review the order and issue a prescription. Their licensed pharmacy would then dispense the order the next day and deliver it to them via fedex right to their doorstep. The best thing is they are even opened 24/7!

Ah.. the world of internet eh…what would we do without them.

Nat commented on my 9.30pm cheesecake snack and how she said she hoped that this kind of cravings only happens once a month and I read that comment to hubs and you know what he said..”once a year!”….lolzzz! So yeah Nat.. it doesn’t happen all the time only sometimes and in fact I can feel the stomach bulging already…lolzzz

Seriously though, I don’t want to bore my readers with my thoughts on diets and losing body fat but I really need to tone up. Hubby commented yesterday, when I was in shorts and tees and said jokingly (I think) that I was “spreading”….. Arghhhh!!! I need to get me a fitness equipment fast. Or get to that gym next door to hubs office already! I would love to put up a picture of before and after then…lolzzz.. Anyways…

Have a great weekend people.. Looks like another wet one ahead of us :)

Before I started drinking that darn coffee, I was a true blue tea drinker. I probably got the habit coz my late father loved to drink tea. It was his staple drink and because of that we always had tea in the house. In fact, I was the designated tea maker.

I remember when I was in junior college, how I always had tea and cookies or cream puff ready for my parents when they come home from the stall. It was sort of our high tea moments. We were probably making the Tea Company rich with all that tea drinking in the household. Lolz. Gosh, I even had tea in my tumbler for school.
tabolic rate and boost your energy level. That is why you see this product being used in lots of weight loss and toning products. Studies have even shown that you can even lower your cholesterol levels just by drinking this wonderful beverage.

If I recalled correctly I read somewhere that green tea also helps with Gingivitis which is a condition where the gums recede back of the teeth and bleed. Drinking green tea actually helps by blocking the growth of bacteria in our mouth which is causing this medical condition.

Among all the different blended tea, for me, the hardest tea to swallow would be green tea but nowadays with them being infused with flavors such as Earl Grey and berries, they are a delight to drink. I always have mine with sugar or honey however, coz I can never really take black tea. It’s a taste to be acquired I guess and I’ve never acquired it.

Tea has always been a comfort drink for me. I have it in different flavor for different moods and moments and it will always have a special place on my palate.

Have a cup with me??…

Ok folks, the reason why I went MIA…jeng jeng jeng…

Exactly one week ago, I admitted myself to a hospital! Relax.. nothing serious. It was supposed to be for a laparoscopic procedure to see the extent of these naughty little fibroids that was growing in my uterus. I blogged about it here. But then according to Dr Fauziah, if the fibroids are extremely big, then she might have to perform an operation as well. As it turned out, the fibroids are big, three of them, and she ended up having to perform surgery. So my overnight stay at Ampang Putri hospital turned to three nights at the maternity ward!

Anyway, I am now recovering nicely at my inlaws and internet is very limited. I plan to return home next Monday but we’ll see what abah and mama got to say about that. My progress would be at my woman blog coz I feel it is more appropriate then. I will even post a picture and video of the lovely fibroids there soon..in case anyone want to know what it is and how it looks like.

After a few days of home stay due to both me and hubbs being sick and all, we had to go out and get some fresh air. We’ve been eating “sick food” coz both of us did not have any appetite to eat but since we needed to take our medication, we needed to fill our tummy first. Our main fortification was porridge and bread. Both quick, both instant!

So now you know why we needed to go out!. Besides hubby also got to get some parts for the washing machine pipe outlet that was giving problems and causing my laundry to pile up.

Anyway, we had a quick late lunch and bought some Putu Piring to go. As both of us are still woozy, we decided to just head on home after that. And so, that end my blog entry for today…hehhehe..

Here’s wishing A Happy Aidil Adha to one and all..

I hate going to the doctor’s office. Unless of course it is of the utmost necessity. However, as much I can, I like to try natural remedies and sometimes even proven medication that friends or relatives have tried before. It’s not the dollars and cents that worries me but rather the tests and the possibility that the doctor might even find something that I don’t even have symptoms for!

Coming back to the self medicate bit, it helps to find sites like TrustSource dot org. I say these because the sites lets members of the public gives reviews on products such as medications that works and that don’t for a great number of disease. For example, if you trying to stop smoking, find out if “Habitrol” actually works and read what other users are saying about it. If you are looking for hemorrhoids relief, find out which of the medications offered are the best. Also if you have tried some of the product featured at the site, give your own ranking and comments and let others who has the same problems as you benefit from your experience.

This is such a great site and I am sure to return.

Well, happy to report the eye twitching is gone. That full body massage from hubby and eight hours sleep on Thursday night really helped ease the stress – hehehe. Now, I can once again enjoy my cup of coffee without any guilt. I guess the body is just telling me to slow down, not the young girl I used to be you know ;-)…plus, the lack of exercise does not helped either.

I’ve been wanting to start on that regime for the longest time, it’s been on my new year’s resolution since, hmmm, two or was it three years ago?? The gym next door to my hubby’s office is beckoning every day, and looking at the ladies of different ages, all decked out in their exercise gear have got me motivated.

Now, what I need to do is get off my lazy @#$ and start taking some action and get fit again or perhaps I should just start with these few steps first??

Arghhhhh! I hate exercise. Anyone else feel the same??

I’ve got this irritating twitching on my right eye since yesterday. If I were the superstitiously kind, I probably thought I was either going to cry about something or I was going to see someone that I’ve not seen for a long time. Not sure which eye stands for which though. However, since I am not the superstitiously kind, I just hope it would go away soon. Can’t have the neighbour thinking that I’m winking at her husband can I?? Lolzz ;-)

Seriously though, I went surfing (like it’s anything new), and this website says that it is normal and generally harmless. Causes for it could range from :

* Fatigue or lack of sleep (guilty)
* Over consumption of caffeine (guilty)
* Physical or emotional stress (not so much)
* Anxiety or phobias (not really)
* Brain damage or other neurological disorders (hopefully not)
* Associated with temper tantrums (am i a child??)
* Eye stress associated with extended viewing of the computer screen (guilty)
* Epilepsy (yikes – touch wood)

Ok then, so am going try to get enough sleep, cut down on my cappucino, relax more, try not to get too excited when there is no opportunity available on PPP, cut down on the tantrums (hehe), and definitely shortened hours on PC. The epilepsy bit, hmm, stumped on that one.

Do you know??:
A perfect wifi setup would not be complete without a wireless phone, a wireless camera and a wireless keyboard. Even wireless internet providers recommend all this while seting up wireless internet booster. Only then can one have business wifi set up.
