Last we heard the water rationing exercise is over for May BUT since me being me is insisting that we still store water until this news is 200% confirmed and I see water running non stop for at least one week. “Kiasu” much? lol!

There were rumours of course that the water rationing is probably on and off till year end and I was telling Azwaj just the other day if that happens.. OMG I am so gonna run off to one sothebys in sunny isles beach (lol) or at least back to Singapore..

Let’s wait and see shall we?

Just thought I share this information with my readers…

Apparently starting from 1st July, STD or Subscriber Trunk Dialing,  can no longer be used with Digi.. so make sure you use the IDD dialing protocol to get connected to Singapore :)

I totally forgot about this post which was on draft. So I thought I just publish it now to close the case.

Anyway, after my twitter session with the people over at Maybank (three weeks after they didn’t reply to my initial email and after a dedicated Maybank post ), they suggested that I send a copy of the original email to a specific email address and promise that there will be an official follow up.

mymaybank

Within one week I am happy to say that I received an official email from their Customers’ Feedback Management stating that the RM0.09 have been waived with effect from the date of the email.

waiver

So thank you Maybank though I have to say that I shouldn’t have needed to go through all this channel to get this done.

Last month, while paying my full balance amount on my Maybank credit card via online banking, I accidentally missed out RM0.09 from the balance. I only realised it after I printed out my payment receipt. There were two things I can do. One is to pay off the RM0.09 and also incur the additional RM1.50 imposed by my bank or two, try to call Maybank and see if they write off the RM0.09 from my balance.

bankingSo I waited for the payment to clear and called them a week later. However, I was told by the customer service that writing off the RM0.09 would not be possible at all citing some reason which was totally stupid to me. I mean I know I am just a small fish but still I’m still a customer fish, all the same. I was in awe, to say the least. I mean Maybank is willing to potentially lose a customer over RM0.09. When I wanted to speak to someone more senior, she said I could email to them and see if there is anything that can be done. So I did. That was on 5th January but till now I, not only didn’t get a reply email on the status, I also did not receive any acknowledgement.

Today I checked my statement and saw that damn RM0.09 balance still there and I’m sure if I don’t pay them by the due date, 2nd Feb, Maybank will slap me with a late charge that will cost me more than actual balance. Unbelievable right?

Oh well, I guess my RM0.09 is paying someone’s salary over there right?

I just had the longest trip I ever had between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. I left Singapore at 1.30pm and arrived KL at 10.30pm! Normally this trip would only take around 5-6hrs only.

Not really sure as to what may have caused the traffic jam but it might have been because it was a weekend and the Singapore school holidays. Whatever it was, there were so many cars both with Singapore and Malaysian plates and it started almost 5 minutes after we left Singapore checkpoint. Good thing I had loaded up my fav soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, on my phone so that kept me occupied for a good 2hrs though I had to stop watching as my battery was running low. The rest of the wait, I had to read the coach onboard magazine and check out some of the ads which I must say were pretty interesting. At least now I know where to find graduation announcements invites :)

massaging chair

Getting My Massage on the Coach

Gonna be one busy bee this month with checkup and pre-ops and my surgery on the 16th. I will be travelling like mad to and fro to Singapore. Many asked why not just do the surgery in Malaysia and avoid all this travelling hassle but let me tell you this.. (and this is not to offend any doctors here in Malaysia) I just feel like the doctors in Singapore care and listen a lot more. They are not obsessed with things that are not in my mind but instead addressed the issues that I AM worried about. And although I went in with the referral by our polyclinic, which means I am on subsidized rates, I don’t feel like they are giving me second class treatment or second class service. They treat everyone the same and money is not the issue.

So while I have to put my vacation and those hot tub covers on hold for a while, I am just glad that once this is all over, I have something great to look forward to.

When I got to know about the Pasar Rakyat Bus Terminal two years back, I must have been one of the happiest person in KL that day. I’ve always hated the jam going to Puduraya and I hate that the place had such a sombre ambiance. It was always so dark, with lots of people and the the coaches doesn’t seem to understand the sign boards that says they were supposed to switch off their engine while waiting for passengers. It was the total opposite at Pasar Rakyat Terminal and I loved that now when my mom comes over, I can be assured that she will alight at the terminal and not “closeby” or “opposite” the station like what normally happens at Puduraya.

Anyway, today must be my most dreaded day because when we arrived at the Pasar Rakyat Bus Terminal at Jalan Imbi, the place was totally deserted! The ticket booths were closed and the parking lots had been dugged out!

Pasar Rakyat Bus Terminal has been permanently closed!

Yeap, put on your reading glasses because it’s true!  From 1st May the place is totally shutdown… and I have not idea where to get my coach ticket for my trip this Friday! There was a relocation map but it was only for one of the coach company and since I don’t want to pay like RM70 for my ticket, we decided to head on over to Puduraya. Yikes right?

… however… Puduraya apparently had a facelift and it was nothing like what it used to be… but that is a whole post by itself..

Anyway, after checking out the ticket booth, I found out that most the coaches there only travel domestically. I can still buy the ticket there but the departure point will be at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan-Bandar Tasik Selatan. O.M.G! We have no idea where this is.. but all I know is that it’s much further than Imbi Road!

So now I am checking out some coaches company online. Hopefully I can secure a coach seat otherwise I’m dead as the Election is on Saturday!

watching tvIt’s been raining the whole day here today and when it rains where I am, it’s usually followed by very strong wind. The room thermometer is registering low temperature of 24degrees Celsius and I am already in my sweater and socks..lol! The kitties are all huddled up together with me on the sofa as I have parked myself in front of the tv with my laptop ready for a night of tv watching.

I still have some research to do on cheap car insurance for Azwaj but I reckon that is a no-brainer kinda of work. I just need to get some numbers and give them a call next week to see what they have to offer.

Are you feeling the love here people. lol.. am loving the red background color and the love border to mark the love month of February :)

internet-downAnyway, my super fast internet connection decided today to shut down itself. We are hoping it’s just a glitch and when the technician comes tomorrow it will just be a touch and go kinda thing. However, we have been experiencing intermittent strong winds here so we are worried that some trees might have fallen or God forbid some commercial pumps have hit our telephone lines and cause the whole network here to go down. I am on another internet provider now and although it is not as fast the one I’m used to, at least I still have internet access and for that I am thankful.

Happy February people!

Saturday is a “No-Plastic” day in most supermarkets here in Kuala Lumpur.. or..wait.. is it Selangor? I always get confuse between these two although I’ve been living here in Malaysia for 10years.. simply because I can be considered as living in both areas.

Last Saturday also happened be our grocery shopping day and thank goodness we brought our own shopping bag as each plastic bag that the supermarket issued out would have cost us 20cents extra. That might seemed like a small amount to pay for one bag but imagine if you have 10bags! That is easily RM2 of unnecessary charge.

lingerie

Guess, which one she bought? lol!

Anyway, there was a lady that was buying a sexy lingerie and forgot to bring her own shopping bag,  She made a big scene as she had to pay for the additional 20cents. Because of that everyone looked and because of the item that she was buying, people started whispering all around. Narrow minded, yes, and totally unnecessary. If I were her, I would have just paid the 20cents or just stuff the item in my handbag after paying the bill. Some people!

I got addicted watching this TV show daily drama called CHINTA when my mom was here last week. She was the one that started watching the show but in the end got me hooked watching it with her each day on TV3 from Monday to Thursdays, 6.30 to 7.40pm. The story revolves around Chinta, a young girl from the village who was raped by an old man who thought that would ease him to marry her. Chinta then escaped and ran off the city. She became a model and later a high class prostitute. Anyway, it is now the 20th out of a 28th episode drama and it’s getting more interesting by the day. Oh yeah, you can watch the show online too, which I’m doing as there are less advertisements and I can watch it anytime as oppose to the time slot on tv.

Fasha Sandha plays the main character, Chinta and Adi Putra plays the hero of the show. Enjoy!

.. especially the ones in Malaysia!  Why? Well in Malaysia, apparently the “bunga telur” or souvenior from the wedding party does not only comprise of one item but a few ones that comes packaged in a cute little thank you bag just like this one.

Although this particular one is from the VIP table, I’m sure the one that was given out the others were equally as interesting.

Once I got it, I can’t wait to see what inside. It feels like I was looking for loose diamonds, Azwaj said.. lol! Anyway this particular goody bag has a nice fan, a cute little cup that I guess can be used for decoration or Espresso minum, some biscuit and a pack of raisins and dates. Awesome eh? I love it! lol!

When we moved from Ampang to Kelang in 2004, we hired an official moving companies. We didn’t know what to expect actually because this was the first time either me or Azwaj hired one. When the “truck” came that Monday, we had a surprised of our lives, as the “truck” that came was a “container” and what was more surprising was that we actually filled it up with our stuff, though of course Azwaj’s motorbike went on as well. lol! However, the moving companies did an awesome job of packaging everything and we were happy that all belongings arrived safe and sound at our new home.

After that exercise, we sort of talked about it and wondered how our move would be if we ever decide to move out of Malaysia,  like perhaps if we decide moving to California for a change of scenery instead? OMG! I don’t even want to think about how many containers we would need to move all of our beginnings even though it is just the two of us. I think the California Moving Companies would definitely be able to handle it but will surely have to charge us a hand and a foot for the move and the California Moverswould surely wished they didn’t take out orders! lol!

Anyway, am not planning to move anytime soon. We are both happy where we are unless of course we win the lottery and buy our own house with an indoor swimming pool.. ahahah

It’s been 4 years now since my permanent residence application and the last time I heard from the immigration department was when I called in 2008 and they told me to call in 2years time! It utterly rendered me speechless!

So I decided to call them today and though they didn’t tell me to call back in another two years, they asked me a lot of questions on how long I’ve applied etc,  and at the end of the conversation, the officer told me to check online instead to see the status of my application. I immediately went to their site which has terrible navigation. I think it would be easier to apply for insurance for business in Hawaii! After locating the link and entering my reference number, I was once again utterly speechless. Suffice to say, I’m still waiting :(

Sometimes I wish I don’t care but I do. Why? Well, because firstly, I like to feel that I somehow belong in this country I call home. Secondly, as I get older and probably my medical need would increase, I need that blue identification card to get “resident” fee as and when I need medical care. I mean, if I was working here in Malaysia right now, I wouldn’t even qualify for the company’s rates for group health or these providers of group health would probably charge the company a hand and a foot to get me included, simply because I have a Singapore identification card.

As for my Singapore “Medisave” account, though I have funds there, I can only use it if I was hospitalized in Singapore hospitalized. Sucks? You betcha!

Oh No!!!

I just remembered that tomorrow certain blocks in our condominium would not be having electricity. :furious_tb: This is because TNB is doing some form of maintenance and they will NOT be providing any back-up generator. I’m not sure why that is so but we have been warned that there would not be any electricity supply from 11.00am to 6.00pm.

No electricity means no hot water shower (I can wait till evening to shower), no fan, no aircon and worst of all no pc and internet!!!  :wallbash_tb:

The best thing to do would be to leave the house and do some shopping for groceries, best acne medicine or even go to my inlaws..

Sigh..

digi-logoI don’t use my mobile phone that often. In fact I use it more more like a camera and video recorder than a phone really. So I use a prepaid number so I can save on the monthly subscription. One thing that really irks me is when my airtime expired even though I still have like RM20 in my account because this means I am only limited to incoming calls and since I am one who likes to have everything in ready mode I always top up my account which means I would top up RM30 each time for another month validity. There was once instance I had like RM100 in my account!

Anyway, I recently found out a way I can have 356 days validity on my Digi prepaid card using either Super Long Life Option. Super Long Life™ is a feature where you can extend your talktime validity to 1 year for just RM30

Here’s how:

  1. Make sure you have more than RM35 in your prepaid account.
  2. Key in *128*1#
  3. Key in 7 for Talktime Services
  4. Select 3 for Super Long Life and Press [CALL]
  5. You will receive a confirmation SMS with your new credit balance
  6. The system would deduct RM30 from your account and extend your airtime validity to 365 days
  7. So from now you only need to topup whenever you feel you need the credit and not because your airtime expired.
  8. Each top up after this will expire based on the Super Long Life validity date

Update: *This feature is available for DiGi® Best Prepaid subscribers only. Check your plan by following these steps:

1. Dial *128*1#
2. Wait for the prompt and type 4 and Send
3. The system will reply with your Call plan
4. If you are not a DiGi® Best Prepaid subscriber, the system will prompt if you want to change your plan
5. Follow instructions

I love things that makes me worry less and contribute to an acnefree me!

It’s not news that I don’t like gardening. It’s not that I don’t enjoyed the flowers or even the products of the garden, it’s just, well.. “because”. Anyway, I needed to buy chilli for my dinner today and upon hearing that Abah said why not grab some from his garden. After all since mama has been sick no one has used them and most of them have gone rotten.

So off I went with my little plastic bag to “harvest” the chilli. lol! Azwaj came along and he noticed that Abah’s garden had gone dry. Poor Abah have been so busy tending to mama that his garden had been neglected. Most of the pots have all gone dry. So Azwaj decided he would do some watering before we go home. Since it was such a big garden, I decided to help. Azwaj would do the one part and I would do the other part. I must say tt’s not such bad experience. I got to see Abah’s garden all the plants that he had and it’s quite a collection. He has chilli, lime, noni, pandan leaves, onion and lots more.. I wonder if he has anything in his garden that can be used as a natural eye wrinkle remover ;)

Enjoy the pictures!

Not sure what the name of the plant on the left (but pretty eh) and on the right is lime
