The house search has not been going well. We have specifics things that we are looking for and none of the houses we were looking at matched up and since we are in no rush to move, we want to make sure we get what we wanted.

One of the criteria is a backyard. The kitties are so use to the “outside” world here with the balcony, we want to make sure we have that option so they can still be “outside” yet “inside” the house. We used to have this before at our house in Klang and they enjoyed it so much that we want to make sure we have that at our new home too.

In the meantime, I am slowly taking my time to pack. Like I said, we are in no rush so I’m just packing things that we don’t use anyway, like the vcd collection, my cookbooks and my extra cookware. We’ve been going around to supermarkets as well to grab any sized garage storage boxes as well. We’ve done this before so we know how important it is to find boxes way in advance otherwise you’ll end up having to pay for those boxes!

Anyway, the fasting month is upon us, so we’ll probably stop looking for now and start again in October. Who know’s by then, there would be more fresh listings in the market sengihnampakgigi

I’ve got good news and I got bad news. The good news is, we decided not to move this time, the bad news is, my landlord just called to say he might be raising our rental! Yikes!!

I really love this apartment, even though it is a rental. The location is perfect. The size of the apartment is just nice, not too big or too small. I got great non-nosy neighbours and best of all, it’s great to be able to have an “ouside yet inside” place for the kitties, balcony of course. Plus I hate moving. I don’t care if its nearbly or long distance moving. I simply hate packing and unpacking. Period.

That being said, there is this great website that can help you with all your moving resources. You can browse their extensive site and find information on Real Estate, Mortgage, Moving, Apartment Hunting, Insurance, Careers, and Home Improvement. So if you are in the States, be sure to check them out ok ;)

If I ever become a landlord one day, the apartments units or houses that I would offer for rental would all be of the Bucknell Apartment standards. Their slogan says it all: “Even Rentals Should Feel Like Home” and how I agree to that. The rentals that I’ve been in, although I would say are not slums, the owner, I believe, could have made it more comfortable for all their tenants, like installing kitchen cabinets for one, water heater or even additional power points!

All Bucknell apartments offers chef kitchen (check out their picture), beautiful wood floor, Kohler fixtures, in-unit laundry facilities and energy savings design. Awesome right?!

Ahh.. My Dream Rental!!

When I was living in Singapore, throughout my thirty one years, I only moved three times. The first was when I was 6yrs old, to our first HDB apartment, the second when I was twenty eight to a larger apartment and the last one when I was thirty one to a smaller apartment that I bought for my mom to stay in when I got married and moved to Malaysia.

Ever since I got married, I moved like four times in eight years! Wow! Now it seems we are moving AGAIN! I have grown to such an expert in packing that I can just look the box and tell whether the stuff would fit in there or not.

So now, we are actively looking for boxes and moving companies. We actually prefer the one we had on the second move as they were very professional. W had to use another company on the third move as they were not available for private move anymore. They are more into international move sort of thing.

How I wish we have the services of Relocation dot com. This website provides listing of licensed movers and provide a quotation for all states depending on the size and distance of your move. Makes life really easy don’t you think? Oh they also provide shipping quotes for your car. International move quotation are also available.
