Wow.. it’s like a tornado is coming. Strong winds outside is causing Smokey to panic and Anja is already running for cover. Even Azwaj’s slippers outside at the balcony was blown inside the apartment!

Looks like rain is upon us and it is so welcomed coz it’s been so hot lately..

Rain, rain… come to mamma!!

We have a friend that just returned to Malaysia from working in banquet facilities in San Diego California. With the experience behind him, he decided that he can start something similar here with his wife and make it into a family business of it.

Somehow, he managed to get the funds he needed to get his restaurant started. He even found clients that were interested in catering with him. With such positive outlook, he started thinking of expanding his restaurant. Taking up the spot next to his restaurant, he has hopes of transforming it into a western cuisine hot spot. Things went fine for the first few months. Whenever we met, we would hear rave reviews on how his catering and restaurant business is doing. We were all extremely happy for him, of course.

But alas, things were not going as well as it seemed. He made a slight error in his business projection that cost him a bundle of money. Last month, we heard he closed down his business with a RM60,000 loss! We really don’t know what happened since he has been avoiding us but whatever it is, we hope he would bounce back again soon.

When death strikes, all you want to do is mourn the person’s death. You want to forget everything else and just mourn. Financial issues are the last thing on your mind at that moment in time. However, as you move forward, reality sets in and everything hits home once again that life has to go on and you are faced with a multitude of your own issues as well as the deceased.

We were over at my in-laws the other day and we were shocked to find out that after the death of Azwaj’s uncle, over a year now, his estates matters are still outstanding. His land rights are still not settled and his family is still at a blur of what is happening. His uncle had this big piece of land that has been left abandoned after his death. I’m not sure about the legality issues of the whole matter but it is a great asset to have right now especially since prices have gone up with almost everything. I guess this is where programs like beneficiary advance would come in handy. I mean the inheritance are theirs, it’s only the processing that is taking too much time and with such program, the family does not need to wait for very long to receive the inheritance.

I just wish the trustee that they are working with can solve this problem for them. It’s over a year already.. and time for all to move on..

I just got off the phone with my mother catching up on the relative’s latest news and gossip in Singapore, like who’s getting married soon, who’s given birth, who’s sick, who’s gain weight, who’s on the diet pills, etc, etc.

She also told me about her recent visit to my Aunt’s place in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. It seemed that my cousin was involved in a hit and run accident with a car (he was on a motorbike). His motorbike was left dangling on the side of a canal and my cousin was thrown into the deep canal. The poor dear got some broken bones and experienced some internal bleeding from the ruptured spleen (limpa) as well and was in the ICU for a whole week!

Irresponsible people irks me to the max. I hope this hit and run person would get his retribution soon enough.

Sang to the tune of The Carpenter’s – “Top of the World”

Such a feeling’s coming over me
I’m beginning to feel very very angry
I want to scream, I want to shout
But no one wants to hear me out
And I wish that this was only a dream

Everything i want to do today
Get postponed again coz I can’t see my page
Can’t comment, cannot blog
Huge white screen is all i got
How I wish this was only a dream

I’m at the bottom of world
looking.. up on the address bar
Wishing.. that the pages would load very very soon
Not a sign of the sidebar
No EC can be dropped so far
Oh..I’m so gonna lose my standing lah like this…

Sing along with me…

I think that with all these stress from the ever failing internet connection, I better go and get myself some acne products ready at home. You know, just in case I do get a break out. I hate acne and pimples and blackheads and whiteheads and anything foreign that is not meant to be on the facial area. Don’t you? gelakguling

I was a typical teenager back in the 80’s, influenced by the weird fashion and the music. Oh, if only I had that picture of me with the large shoulder pads and the thick belt.. yeah peeps it was huge! gelakguling

Anyway, the 80’s saw some great artists and bands in the making. We had Madonna, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and my all time favorite Wham!

The 80’s also had some great memorable movies. Who can forget that romantic flick from 1982 staring Richard Gere called “The Officer and the Gentleman” and the scene when he carried her and the song “Up where we belong” by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes came on? Also don’t forget the 1986 flick “Top Gun” that introduced us to Mr Tom Cruise! Oohh.. men in uniform.. don’t they just send shivers down your spine..lol!!

Speaking about memorable flicks, how about the movie WarGames staring Mathew Broderick? I mean how cool is it to get a chance to play a game with the US Military’s war computer? And guess what? In conjunction with WarGames 25th Anniversary, the movie is playing a one night only event in select theaters nationwide on Thursday, July 24th. It would include a never-before-seen interviews with film’s creators and the cast (including Broderick and Ally Sheedy) and what’s more you’ll get a sneak peek at the making of the sequel – WarGames: The Dead Code. So make a date ok!

A pimple or the pimple scar??

I would have to say… BOTH! I hate them both. Firstly I know the pimple or the acne’s gonna hurt like anything coz it’s gonna swell and sting. Though I don’t normally get them but I remember the pain when I do and then secondly the scars take forever to heal causing more money to be spent on concealers and acne scars cream. Thank God for those though. What will I do without them?!

Poor Azwaj. His pc is giving him problems. The screen was flickering a few day ago and he suspected it was the VGA card but thinking that it can hang on for bit he totally dismissed the idea of buying a new one. Then yesterday, the pc refused to start totally and when it did, it keeps rebooting itself. Basically it’s telling us.. hello.. hardware failure!

So today he got VGA card from the office and replaced it but still now luck.. so going to his troubleshooting mode, he replaced:

1. the RAM, still no luck..
2. removed an old capture card.. still no luck…
3. removed one of the older hard disk.. that seemed to work though it only managed to start switched on for a few minutes and reboot again.

However, this time, as the system was rebooting and just before that dreaded “blue” screen… there was an error message and from that Azwaj pretty much narrowed down the diagnosis that is was the memory RAM… Looks like another trip to Low Yatt tomorrow!

What will we do without our beloved PC?!

Back in Singapore when I was a FTE (full time employee) as the personal assistant to the Vice President or Partners, as they are called now, I had another role that the company assigned to me (like I did not have enough work already), and it was the role of a MIS coordinator. Our company at that time had around 80 staff but we contracted an outside MIS personnel as there was no real need for one at that time. Our main support was coming from Hong Kong and between the contractor, me and Chris (our HK person) we were able to cover all the bases. He comes in twice a week and I would have a list of PCs and laptop for him to work on while I would handle the daily grit of backing up data, network monitoring and making sure that everything run smoothly.

So basically that was how I got to know the technical side of IT, the hardware and networking aspects of it. Everything comes connected in a crunch right? I did not have any proper training or any Cisco certification but sometimes common sense and the university of life does come in handy.

But you know what. I wished I had taken that certification as with it I could have totally switch vocation or have some real training in networking. Not that I did not enjoy being a personal assistant (after all it does have it’s perks) but a backup career and the knowledge such a course would bring would surely have its advantages especially in today’s evolution of the IT world.

I guess it’s not too late to take it up though except I’m too lazy to take up anything nowadays. Too contented with life already I supposed sengihnampakgigi.

I’ve always been good with renewal dates for anything. For instance I know that my passport will expire on 23 Dec 2011. I know Azwaj’s motorcycle insurance and road tax will expire on 23 December 2008. I also remember and this is very important, my social visit visa will expire on 16 July 2008. So for the life of me I don’t know how I can forget the renewal date for the car insurance and road tax for Azwaj’s car. Perhaps because we don’t use the car that often or perhaps because I don’t really pay attention to it coz that is the only file that Azwaj hang on to coz of all the repairs that needed to be done to it. Whatever is the reason I totally forgotten, and obviously Azwaj too, about the renewal of the auto insurance. And because of that, we were not able to use the car today to go grocery shopping.. Arghhh!!!

Anyway, since we always go with the same company and their premium is pretty reasonable, there is no need to look for any cheap car insurance or anything like that. I guess we have to do it soon eh.. Luckily the dates for the insurance and the road tax expiration is the same, so no hassle there.. Looks like another busy day for us tomorrow!

I have been dropping my EC’s card like mad recently. I have six entrecards currently and so far have managed to do my 300 drops daily for three of my blogs.. My goal is to do the max for LJL and LLP daily and do one more round for either one of the remaining ones. I don’t think I would be able to drop all six cards in one day.. that would be too much work, and where’s the fun in that then right?

I’ve also recently installed Opera, the browser, and that somehow have made dropping much faster. Azwaj says the reason why my firefox is taking so much time to load pages is because of all the plugins I’ve installed (and the internet connection as well) so I’m keeping Opera VERY clean, just the basic!

Ok folks, catch you in a while, I want to watch Azwaj installed this KVM switch that he bought for his two PCs.. He said now, with the switch he won’t need two monitors, two keyboards and two mouses (or is it Mice? gelakguling) to control the two PCs. Now that I got to see!

I’m not sure if it is my internet connection or if it is GMail but whatever it was, it is causing me much frustration and needless hair pulling! Imagine your online banking timing out in a middle of a transaction! Yikes!!

So I decided to pop out my email to outlook express and see if that would somehow lessen the burden on Firefox and hence making surfing more tolerable. And whaddaya know, it worked! So I guess GMail was the culprit that caused my pages to take forever to load. Hmmpp!! I guess perhaps I should look into other email provider huh?

Speaking of tolerable surfing.. I was able to drop 300 ECs’ tonight, my first time ever! Now if only getting Business Loans were as easy as that especially one that promises an easy process, fast funding and excellent service just like those found at EZunsecured dot com. Oh well.. off to drop more cards for my other blog’s EC….

My home pair of glasses is a very hardy one and there’s a reason for it. As I “never evah” sleep as Roxy put it, I have my glasses on me 24/7 too. Being that the case, it also gets worn out fast.

Just recently, for reasons unknown, the spongy thingy that sits on my nose to protect it from “thinning” (LOL!) came off. Just one side mind you but I need to replace both.

Anyway, this type of replacement if I were to do it at any optician in SG, I would get it done for FREE, inclusive of slight re-alignment and even cleaning. But.. NOOOOOO.. in KL..it cost me RM5! Meager, you might say, but to me, it’s the principle behind it. Is customer service and loyalty no longer sacred? I mean I go to this particular optician for all my needs, and yet for this petty replacement, he can’t even give it to me for FREE?!

But then again, I guess it’s just me. You should see me haggling over the price of Cat5e Keystone jack over in Bukit Bintang.. I think all the salesmen actually run away when they see me approaching…gelakguling

You can take me out of SG but you can’t take SG out of me!!! peace

You know how sometimes, you got so much things to do (and by that I mean online work) and the internet connection is not cooperating, you could actually feel a zit coming on from all the stress? A humongous red dot right smack on your forehead.

Ok, I exaggerate, it’s not that big and it’s not that red but it is still right smack on my forehead. Anyone know of a best acne treatment that can make it go away by tomorrow. Not that I have a big date of something, it’s just bothering me so much coz I don’t get many of this “incidences” you know siul

OMG! It’s been a while since me and Azwaj actually go out during the day. Like noon-ish kinda of timing. We either leave early in the day or real late in the afternoon. However, today, seeing how I have not even gotten my coach ticket to Singapore for tomorrow and my mom’s medicine is still not collected yet, we decided to leave around 10am. After all that’s around the time the pharmacy opens anyway.

First stop was Azwaj’s office, to settle some office work before I leave for the whole week. Then it was to the bank, then to one of the pharmacy to collect one type of medication. Then Yong Tau Foo Lunch… yummy… After that followed by buying of the coach ticket, then to the other pharmacy. We decided today to do all errands today by bike. Much faster definitely. It was so hot though that I was practically melting under the hot sun.

Ahh feels so good to be home again, in my air-conditioned study with a cup of hot tea next to me. I have some eye candy of you guys as well.. My Lunch….lolzzz!

One thing about divorces. It’s never pretty! Couples get spiteful, nasty, inconsiderate and that’s when all the pointing fingers would start. They forgot that one day, a long time ago or in some cases, not so long ago, they were in love and they were swearing eternal love. What happened?

Life happened I guess. Reality steps in and suddenly life is no longer a bed of roses. Suddenly love is not enough anymore and it does not conquer all.

So it is wrong then, if some entrepreneurs capitalize on this situation and make a bit of moolah from it? After all, life goes on and sometimes letting go is the only way to go..

Divorce cakes anyone??

I wonder if they have to return all those presents they received and who gets that Jaeger LeCoultre collection?

You know the saying, too many cooks spoils the broth. Well it’s gonna happen soon unless someone I know buck up and start taking the horse by the rein.

People need to realize that there are leaders and there are followers. Individuals need to know themselves otherwise.. disaster is looming. Enuff said!
