I love listening to Azwaj playing and practising on his guitar. I know he doesn’t use yamaha mg32 14fx mixer or anything coz it’s just for personal use, but he sounds just awesome even with the amplifier that he is using now. I wished I could record something and feature it for Music Monday but alas he has not given me permission to do that.. so I guess you guys just got to wait for it.. haha..

I always say, nothing beats a good education. By that I don’t mean you need to have a degree, masters or anything like that.. but more towards being receptive to learning anything that might be beneficial to you in your life. I am not a graduate and I take it as an insult if they think that they are better than me just because they have a paperwork that entitled them to some letters behind their name.
My education is my life and I am proud that it is so. I learn from whoever and whatever that shares their knowledge and although I am learning all the time, I dare say I am more knowledgeable than some graduates I know.. lol!
Now now, I don’t mean to say going to school or getting that degree is not important or anything (so doing that gre prep is equally important) but what I am saying is that you need to learn more than just from school books to be a rounded person, not around the waist but in the mind ok! hehe.

It is so hot nowadays that it feels like there is an outdoor firepit on the balcony. I almost fear that I will melt whenever Azwaj offer to pick me up for lunch that I always tell him I’ve already eaten.. lol!
Now would be the perfect time for that private pool vacation I’ve mentioned before but alas it can only happen after my surgery so I am practicing patience for now and hope that by the time we are ready to go on that dream vacation, the weather will co-operate.

One of the things I love is a brightly lit room. I can’t stand dark room as it makes the room feel so stuffy and small. So if you look at my work area, you’ll find wall lighting on the wall in front of me as well as a make shift fluorescent light that Azwaj placed on the filing cabinet behind me. I also have a standby desk lamp beside me in case I need the extra lighting when I do my graphics work.
Anyway, talking about lighting, we’ve been having a little lighting problem in our home. First, we need to get a replacement sensor lights for the kitty room as the last one that we used is no longer working. The kitties don’t really mind being in the dark but it makes it difficult for me to peep in the room in the middle of the night to see what they are doing.. lol! Perhaps we should consider one of those outdoor wall sconces to place permanently in the kitty room. I’m not sure if we can use of those energy saving bulbs in them but am sure we can find one that will suit our purpose.
Another area that we need to check the lighting on is the kitchen. We have two sets of lightings in there right now but one of them is misbehaving. Azwaj tried changing the fuse and the bulb but it keeps flickering on and off intermittently each time I am in the kitchen. I feel like I’m in a discotheque or something.. lol.

It was NOT cleaning day for me but it was one for Azwaj. He helped Abah yesterday with some gardening chores yesterday. It’s been so windy lately that a lot of Abah’s plants pots has toppled over and since Abah is not as strong as before, he needed the strength of his only son. Both Abah and Azwaj also cleaned the little fish fountain in his garden and according to Azwaj, they may need to do some window shopping at WeGotPumps.com goulds pump soon. The pump need to be replaced or the fish got to go. Abah still is still undecided.
Anyway, I am planning a trip back to Singapore on 2nd Feb. Yeay!

Just doing my packing here and am thinking if I should bring something warmer for my coach ride to Singapore later today. Normally my pashmina would suffice but seeing how the weather is changing from hot to extra cold these days, I was thinking I should have gotten one of those CozyWinters.com heated gloves to make sure I won’t be sneezing all through my 5 hours air-conditioned coach ride. Oh well, I reckon I’ll just have my sweater handy this time around.

We just got our monthly bill for our credit card and along with the bill, as usual, the bank always include recent pamphlets that contains offers if we were to use the card. Well, one of the offers was for a discounted rate at our dream vacation spot. However, the offer is only valid till December 2011 and seeing how it is raining everywhere in Malaysia, it does not seem like the perfect time to go. After all I don’t think I would be soaking in the private pool if it is was raining or if the weather was cold :(
We are definitely planning a vacation soon, if not this year then early next year. I am seriously in need of some of vacation time. Perhaps I can even get A to rent a rv and get some rv insurance or something and drive down to the east coast once the raining season is over. I heard the drive is awesome!

I wanted to be a lot of things when I was growing up. I wanted to be doctor, a teacher, a flight attendant and even a lawyer. I guess it must have been because of all the exposure of tv shows like ER, Ally McBeal and the likes of them. They make it all looked so glamorous right? Anyway, I didn’t become a doctor, a teacher, a flight attendant or a lawyer. Instead now, I am doing something that I was never exposed to when I was growing and I am loving it!

I feel really frustrated at myself right now because I’ve procrastinated in sending my laptop, Miss Fly, to the service center to be repaired. She has been down since November and I’ve been taking it easy since I have my desktop to work on. And now that I’m going back to Singapore, I am, yet again, without my travelling companion. I could so knock myself in the head right now! Argh.. how I wished I could turn back time!
I have a good mind to just buy one of those toshiba netbooks that I’ve seen at the store just now, but I talked myself out of it because once I have Miss Fly back, what am I gonna do with another laptop? I may as well just save up and get me that mobile phone I’m dreaming of instead..

Space is almost always never enough for most of us. For example, my mom has a whole apartment to herself, albeit it is only a one room apartment, but she still complains of not enough space…so much so that I always teased her that I should rent the parking lot downstairs and put up one of those steel buildings to house most of her clothings… lol!
Seriously though I too should stop buying more clothing .. am so running out of wardrobe space as well! I may end up hanging them in boxes like this.. hahaha

There are no plans to spend Raya in Singapore this year since it’s the first Raya without Mama and we don’t want Abah to spend it alone. So I would probably visit mommy at the end of this month and come back just before Raya to spend it here with Azwaj and Abah. Good thing too as the head gasket of A’s car needed replacement and that would cost a substantial amount plus as in any long distance distance traveling, the car need to be in tiptop condition and A’s car is far from that. A friend offered his Honda Civic, if we needed it but we kindly turned down his offer as this is not an emergency and there is no need to trouble anyone.

Babies, babies. From human babies to animals babies, I’m surrounded by babies everywhere. Don’t believe me? Well, A’s friend just gave birth, my neighbour just returned yesterday from the hospital with a baby in her arms and there’s two baby kittens in front of my door! What more proof do you need? lol! Are the Gods telling me something.. hahah…

Poor Dead Fish
We were at Abah’s garden today and noticed that all the fishes in his pond were dead. Initially we thought it was because no one fed them but upon further checking we realized it was because the pond uv filters were not working and too much algae had formed in the pond.
Poor dead fishes. Abah was too busy with Mama and everyone else forgot to check up on them :(

We can’t help but take medication in our lives. We’re in pain, we pop two painkiller tablets and life goes on. We have problem skin that caused us heart pain and we take the most effective acne product in the market.
Like I say, such is life. However, not all this medication are good for us. Some are too good that no one actually the side effects till it’s too late. Take accutane side effects for instance. Accutane is known to remove the most difficult cases of acne by stopping all oil production leaving nothing for the body to work on. This, in the long run, cause dryness, joint pain, drying of the lips, nose, mouth and skin. In extreme cases, it can cause birth defects or even fetal death.
So, what I’m saying is although medicine has its pros, it also has its cons, so evaluate how much you actually need it in your life before it cause you more harm than good.

I was mentioning in my woman blog how Azwaj’s car just refused to start the other day. Well guess what.. The auto insurance and road tax have just expired!. WOW!.. when it comes it comes in hordes! I’m really just tempted to advice A to just forget about the car as we use the motorbike anyway but it’s handy to have since sometimes we really do massive groceries shopping and when we need to send the furkids to the clinic.
A lot of sighing nowadays :(

You know what I wished for sometimes?
I wish for an electric blanket that knows how to regularize temperature so much so that if I’m cold, it turns up the heat and when I’m hot, it turns the temperature down so that I don’t start perspiring underneath. A little far-fetch wishing I know but we always wish for what we can’t have right? :(
I don’t know when it started but I just know that nowadays I try not to use the public toilet as much I could. And in the same way I check out where the exit signs are, if I know that I’m going to spend some time at a location, I would scout out the toilet first just to make sure it is clean otherwise be assured that my intake of food and water for that day would significantly reduced.
I can’t tell you the number of times that I have stepped into a dirty toilet and immediately all the desire to answer nature call would suddenly disappear replaced by an instant need to search out the nearest exit sign available instead. Call it what you want, I call it discipline and I have disciplined myself well in that area.. lol!
Speaking of EXIT SIGNS, I just love this image I found online today. Classic if I do say so myself. I wonder who or what is responsible for this cute action. Could it have been wear and tear, mother nature or simply the work of some creative soul who has nothing better to do with their time. Either way, perhaps I should give the owner of the place some recommendations on where they can get a good exit sign replacement.
