Music Monday: Selamat Hari Raya 2014

I know it’s not Music Monday today but seeing how next Monday is already Hari Raya, I thought I just post this today and wish all my fellow Muslimin “SELAMAT HARI RAYA and MAAF ZAHIR BATIN”

Azwaj shared with me this video yesterday and I simply loved it. It’s the cover version of “Selamat Hari Raya” sang by Elizabeth Tan with a Ukulele as an accompaniment (wonder if it was bought from guitar center). Take a listen and see if you like this version too.

Earth Hour 2012

Last year for Earth Hour, me and Azwaj switched off all the power supplies and had a nice candle light dinner. It was kinda nice actually, a romantic dinner for two with only the light coming from the scented candles. This year though we might be over at my father-in-laws place to enjoy his very special oxtail soup for dinner but since FIL loves brightly lit areas, I doubt we will participating this year.

Salam Aidil Adha

So.. here I am in Singapore celebrating Aidil Adha with my mom in Singapore. I don’t think mommy is cooking up a storm this Raya but I see some meat defrosting in the kitchen sink and the spice rack is all out so I reckon she will cooking something tomorrow morning before we go on our visiting rounds. I am sure I will wake up to some nice smell tomorrow morning from the kitchen from all those spices that I see on the spice racks. Can’t wait for sure!

I don’t know about you but compared to my mom’s full stocked kitchen spice racks , the one I have at home looks like a play set. I always buy in small quantity enough for one time dish making and so my spice containers are almost always empty or fill with expired goods…lol.. oh well, what do you expect from a two person household right?

Anyway, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim friends and visitors a “Selamat Hari Raya” and have a blast with your loved ones wherever you are!

Special Event

Me and Azwaj are attending a very special event on Sunday. As a treat for myself, I got my new outfit for the event which potentially could also doubled up as a Hari Raya outfit… yeay!.. It’s washed and now being hung out to dry. I only hope it will dry in time tomorrow to be ironed.. lol! I am also making sure we have the rechargeable batteries for the camera all charged up as well. So A will be handling the camera while I will use my awesome smart phone to take take HD quality pictures and video and catch whatever scenes that A might be missing.

Hopefully I will catch something nice for Music Monday next week!

2011 Earth Hour

I didn’t participate in Earth Hour last year because we were out sourcing out for acer netbooks for a client but this year since we were home, we decided to support this great cause. I mean there was nothing to lose.. In face I saved an hour worth of electricity bill.. lol!

We also took the opportunity to make something romantic out of  it. We had an awesome candlelight dinner.. hahah..The menu wasn’t any special but the ambiance and the company was definitely awesome! Even the kitties enjoyed all the shadow play.. lol!

 

All in all it was a good hour. We will definitely be joining again next year!

Blogger Gathering This Friday

Yeay! I’ll be meeting my online buddies this Friday and to say I’m excited would be the understatement of the year! lol! I’ve been reminding Azwaj about this date since we, namely Mariuca, Shemah and myself, confirmed the date last month and I’ve continued reminding him simply because I don’t want the date to slip his mind which would mean I would not be able to go! I’ve even reminded him to do any oil change or brake job on his  Acura TL ..oppss I meant his bike,  if necessary, to make sure we have a smooth ride. However, seeing how it almost always rained in the evening these past few nights, we might just have to take a cab instead or risk getting wet along the way, which would be a disaster!

Anyway, we have about 22 people coming for this Friday blogger gathering at the Hard Rock Cafe. A good number if I do say so myself. Oh no I still don’t know what I’m gonna wear!

A Decade of Loving

Our Wedding Day

Today marks ten years of wonderful marriage to a man I call Azwaj.

I still recall the day so vividly and I can remember to the very dot of what happened during the event. From our early morning solemnization at my in-laws house, the rain that graced our evening reception, the cake cutting ceremony and and that very long handshake with all the guest at the end of the night..lol! I loved it all and wouldn’t change a thing.

Anyway, we had not planned anything special. We never do. It’s just the two of us and we can do or not do whatever we want. I’m just gonna take my vitamins (no.. not prenatal vitamins)  and go to bed now and when we wake up.. we’ll think of something I’m sure..

Erwani and Irwan's Solemnization Event

I just want to give a shout out to congratulate Erwani an Irwani today on their wedding day! I was at the my cousin’s house the whole day yesterday helping out with the preparation and although tired, I had a fantastic day!

Happy Anniversary Abah and Mama

I just got home today with mommy in tow and how perfect it was because today my Mama and Abah (my in-laws) celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary!
