You want to have an enjoyable trip whether it is for business or pleasure, but you also want to have a safe one. It is important to plan ahead and make sure that you are not making any simple mistakes that could cause your safety to be at risk. You should take your time and find the best deals for staying in Orlando, but you should also make sure that you take your safety into consideration.

Find Safe Accommodations

You may consider saving a few dollars by staying in that cheap hotel, but if it is located on the wrong side of town you may regret that decision. The best way to find out if the hotel you are planning on staying at is in a safe area is to look at traveler reviews. You want to see what real people have to say about the hotel that you are thinking about staying in. Paying for a hotel in advance and arriving to find it in a bad area can really put a damper on any trip. Do your homework and find the right room for your needs before choosing to make reservations.

Bring Your Medicine

If you have to take medicine on a daily basis, you should make sure that it is packed before you leave from home. You do not want to be miles away and remember that your medicine is still in your cabinet at home.

Take Care of Your Money

When you are traveling, you want to make sure that you do not have all of your money in the same place. If possible, stay in a hotel that offers an in-room safe. You can leave some of your cash or a credit card inside of it when you go out. If something happens to your wallet while you are away on vacation, it can be hard to get new cards and money sent to you. Instead, always try to have a backup plan. When you go out with your money, be sure that you keep your pocketbook or wallet close to you at all times. If you can carry a small wallet in a front pocket or a pocket that buttons up, you will be more secure.

Be Aware of Your Surroundings

While you are traveling, you want to always be aware of your surroundings. Since you are going to be in a new place, you do not want to get lost. You should be sure to look for landmarks to help you find your way around town. You should also be aware of the people around you. When you stay in the present moment, you can also enjoy everything around you more.

Traveling is always a great way to have new experiences. You can stay watchful of your surroundings and be prepared to avoid many safety hazards. You should be sure to bring a cellphone with you, a flashlight, and other items that can be useful. Travelers can make many wonderful memories by always being alert and finding comfortable and safe accommodations.

This post was provided by Fiona Moriarty of Hipmunk, a travel website that helps you to locate the best deals on transportation, accommodations, and more.

I can’t believe that the first quarter of the year is already gone. The first three months really went by in blur for me. With work, mama and life in general, life has been hectic but I can’t really complain. My online business is going well, with work almost never ending which literally forced me to make time to NOT work and just enjoy my online life tweaking my own blog and getting familiar with wordpress. I reckon I better do that before I burn out before my time. So… I am trying to take it take it easy, disciplining myself with time management and fighting the urge to reply to every email I get from clients. Keyword here of course “TRYING“! Lol! Not easy but I’m trying.

Helicopter Ride In New York

Helicopter Ride In New York

So, while on my off time, I was surfing around, just enjoying the blog hopping, reading interesting articles and I came across some holiday sites. Not that I’m planning a holiday mind you, but sometimes it’s great to just see what some countries are offering their tourists.

For instance, did you know that you can go sight seeing on a helicopter ride if you were on Holidays to New York? Yeap, if you were on some  New York Holidays, you can take “the most memorable attraction in New York City” ride. That ought to be an experience of a lifetime and only with  Holidays New York can you achieve that. Awesome!

My “offtime” is nearly over now which means I got to go back to work. So see you when I see you lovely people!

I’m not into traveling these days especially since the thingy with my mom’s eye. She told me that she is still experiencing double and blur vision which seemed to improve if she put on her reading glasses. So I’m bringing her to the Optician to get her eye-glasses and hopefully that would help.

Anyway, if you are planning vacation, perhaps you like to consider Las Vegas. I stumbled upon a las vegas hotel reservations site that is offering 77% off from last year rate on most hotels. I think that sound just awesome. If you can save and still have the best, why not right?

You know, life is complex and difficult enough as it is. There are bills to pay, problems that have no solutions in sight and never ending ulcers that loves me to death that they come visiting every two months or so – yeah am having one humongous one right now on the inside of my left cheek nangih

So when things that makes life easy comes my way, it is welcomed with open arms. Things like three minutes mug cake that is not only easy to make but delicious as well. Things like when I called the uncle over at Pasar Rakyat and make reservation for my previous Singapore trip so that I don’t have to physically go down (exception in my case eh..sengihnampakgigi) and the online coach booking from Singapore to KL that takes the hassle of actually going down to the agency to purchase ticket for my return trip back.

And speaking of making life easy, how about making travel plans easier? Gone are the days now when you need a physical travel agency to make all your planning for you. You can now just sit in the comfort of your own home and explore any Europe, American or Hawaii packages that you fancy at your fingertip. Such sites like the one offered by BootsnAll, an all-in-one travel network site, offers great rates on airline tickets as well as cruise, vacation and travel deals packages. The site is also simple to navigate and booking a flight, be it domestic or international travel, is as easy as counting 123!

I love things that makes life easier..don’t you?

You guys know what I need for my quarterly coach commute between Singapore and Malaysia? I need one of these heated travel mug.

Well that coach can get pretty cold most time. I usually take the non-stop ones so that I can arrive earlier into Singapore but a nice cup of Java juice would really perk up those travel.

I just found this product recently at a website and the way it works is, you just plugged it into the cigarette lighter in your car, in my case, the coach, and you’ll get your beverage to a nice drinkable temperature..

These are the features of the little wonderful invention:
# Steel mug insulates liquid to maintain heat level even when not plugged in.
# Heats liquids to selected temperatures (85 – 160F)
# Alerts the user when ideal preset temperature is reached
# Monitors the temperature of the liquid and displays status on the LED indicator
# Dishwasher safe removable inner mug
# 12 V auto adapter included

Hmm.. you think I can be sweet enough to the driver to let me use this in his coach?

I just have to share this with you peeps.

***

Glass Bridge will be suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River on the very edge of the Grand Canyon . On May 2005, the final test was conducted and the structure passed engineering requirements by 400 percent, enabling it to withstand the weight of 71 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes (more that 71 million pounds). The bridge will be able to sustain winds in excess of 100 miles per hour from 8 different directions, as well as an 8.0 magnitude earthquake within 50 miles.

More than one million pounds of steel will go into the construction of the Grand Canyon SkyWalk.

Check it out! Imagine walking on it! Awesome!

Whenever I go for vacation, one of the things that I always like to do is experience what the place have to offer. I want to try and do everything, I want to go everywhere. So somewhere like Branson would be just nice for me. There’s a mix of everything for a tourist to enjoy.

Firstly, there are so many great accommodations to choose from. There are hotels, cabins at Grand Mountain and condos at golf resort. The choices are endless. Just look at the cabin pictures below. Aren’t they awesome?! I can so totally imagine me in that bedroom!

Also, if I was too lazy to do my research, I can just consider getting one of the packages offered for couples that include accommodations, meals and concert tickets!

Speaking of concert tickets, I also found out that Branson has great many attractions, like museums, caves and caverns and even a theme park. A Theme Park.. idea Twing!!!! My Favourite tepuktangan!! There’s even a Go Kart Track that I know hubby would enjoy!!

No top diet pill can save me. With all the delicious dishes my mommy was serving me last week while I was in SG, I’m a lost cause gile. I mean who could resist all the dishes below.

I love my fish so everytime I go back I will be served with Emak’s “Delicious Ikan Pecal”. This is a traditional Javanese dish. Very simply put, it’s deep-fried fish (either Stingray or this fish that both me and Emak just call Ikan Sharifah coz someone told us that’s what it’s called though we are not really convinced) with a special sauce that had coconut juice and chilli as the base. OMG! I’m salivating even as I speak!!

Then of course, mommy would prepare her Mutton Beryani, Sinfully Rich Chicken in spicy coconut gravy and another favorite of mine, Chilli Stuffed Fish.

We also had some meals outside as mommy wanted to eat something other than her cooking so we went to KFC for her fav cheesy fries and coleslaw. We also had Chicken Steak, Mushroom Beef Steak and of course Pizza!

Yeap Peeps! I’m almost scared to get on that weighing machine…gelakguling

My blog buddy, Farah, is going to Bandung tomorrow for a short holiday and what fun she’s gonna have shopping, sightseeing and eating at Bandung hot tourist place. Trin has suggested a variety of places for her to go to and Farah has even printed out the locations..lolzz.. Farah. make sure you wear flats for the sightseeing and the loose pants for all the food you gonna eat ok! eheheheh.. and bring back loads of pictures for us to see!

Speaking of holiday, I’ve often wonder what it would be like to go on a cruise. There are so many cruises nowadays leaving from Singapore that I can’t help but wonder what is it going to be like. I mean I saw shows like “The Love Boat” (boy I feel so old and retro).. and unless you like the water, what other things can you do right on board right. Anyone been on a cruise before?? Care to share your experience?

In the meantime, I’ll just sing part of the theme song of “The Love Boat”…

The Love Boat..promises something for everyone..
Set a coast for adventure, your mind on a new romance…
And Love… wont hurt anymore.. it’s an open smile… on a friendly shore.
It’s love….. welcome aboard it’s looooveeeee….

The meeting with the government official today that came over to check on my hubby’s company paperwork went A-OK! Good Job LJ!..lolz!!..

After that hubby and his partner had a meeting at Putrajaya and I tagged along since I’ve not been there before. The meeting ran on for about two hours and after that we sort of took a slow ride around PutraJaya. Wow, this place is so clean and so well planned – and the buildings are all so nice! These are some pictures I took with hubby’s camera phone as we were driving thru…hehehehe.. enjoy!

Look at the clean walkway!

The beautiful mosque.
Nope, that’s not our car..lolz

Don’t know what this is but kind of neat!

We love our cats very much but every time we consider going for a holiday, the subject of who will take care of them always have us thinking that perhaps going on an extended holiday is not such a good idea anyway. The last time we had a vacation, the kitties spend ten days in boarding and at RM10 a tail, you do the math. However, that never stopped us from the occasional “look and see” attitude whenever the holidays season start. We’ll go online and check out flights and hotel reservations and see what travel agencies are offering this year as oppose to last year. Who knows? A right bargain might come up worth considering right?

A website we found recently holds promise. HotelReservations dot com offers a variety of holiday packages that suit all kinds of budget with savings of up to 70% and they even guarantee that their prices are the lowest you can find anyway online. They have arrangement for flights, hotels and also car rentals. Everything you need in one site.

I guess all we need now is a CatSitter eh? ;-)

I’ve always loved to travel but finding bargain holidays nowadays is not an easy feat anymore. Everything is so expensive. Airfare, accommodations and food can already be a drain on the wallet. Then there’s shopping and inland transport for sight-seeing to allocate for.

That’s why sites that offer economical holidays are so welcomed. Sites like Holiday Hypermarket not only offers cheap flights but also bargain holidays to a million locations of your choice. From summer to winter packages from Spain to Switzerland, you can even book last minute. If you are the free and easy kind like me, you probably would love the “build your own holiday” package.

I guess I’ll be packing my bags soon…;-)

I was watching the “Travel and Living” channel on Astro today and one of the programs shown was featuring hotels in Spain.

I, for one, did not know that Spain is one of the three most visited countries in the world! I remembered saying what a beautiful country it is when it became the world’s focus of attention for the 1992
Barcelona Olympics.

So, I decided today, that I’m going to “travel” to Spain via the friendly airways also known as WWW Air..;-)

My first destination would of course be Barcelona. Finding hotels in Barcelona is not difficult. You can pick hotels from the one star standard right up to five star without any problem here. I found a few places of interest that is worth checking out from TripAdvisors dot com. A must see, according to some reviews there are the La Boqueria – A flea street market – and the Sagrada Familia – Church of a Sacred Family built by Antoni Gaudi and hailed at an architecture masterpiece by some. For the Picasso fans, the Picasso Museum would be next on the agenda.

The next city I visited was Madrid. As before, hotels in Madrid are reasonably priced as well. For a last minute reservation, you could easily get a decent hotel for EUR25.00 a night. I love shopping so the El Rastro Flea Market would be my first stop and after that long neighbourhood and nature walk at the Paseo de la Castellana and my visit to the world class Prado Museum, what could be more relaxing than spa treatment at the Mayrit Arabic Spa.

Before heading on back to KL, I just have to make a quick pit stop to Granada to get my Mi’Amore his one of a kind custom hand-made guitar. Oooohhh.. he’ll be thrilled :-)

Honey.. I’m home…
