I really should get my work portfolio in order. Can you believe I don’t even have a business card? I’ve always wanted to get some but since I don’t time to design my own, it keeps getting postponed over and over again and when I actually need to have some, I have none :(

So my resolution for next year is (oh no.. it’s time for resolution already?), I have to get some business card and an online presentation folder printing company sourced out so that I can print all those work that I’ve been doing and store them in one place to show to people that kept asking me for my portfolio. Wish me luck!

I do a lot of graphic design work. Some for the Internet, like websites and blogs, and more recently for prints like flyers, brochures, invitation cards, store posters and business cards. Unfortunately for me, my clients are all overseas and printing posters is all done overseas as well. I would really love to see the kind of [custom poster frames] that my work is framed in, but sadly I only get to see them in photographs that my clients sent to me upon my request.

I have a good mind to just find some local printing company here and get some printing posters done here so that at least I have something to put in my portfolio … lol! After all I don’t think that it is that expensive, and it would be nice to see my posters live in all their glorious colors.

The festive season is here, and that means more posters and art work for me to do. I just hope I don’t run out of ideas to keep my designs fresh and interesting in order to help my clients attract more customers of their own, which in turn means more work for me.. it’s a vicious cycle, but a good one that is :)

More ideas here would perhaps help me with my washed out mind…lol… but then again sometimes when the speed of churning out designs is more important, you can’t help, but wish your clients would just tell you what they need and want to see, instead of saying.. “give me a HOT HOT HOT design”…lol

Oh well, back to the drawing board for me now. I am looking through magazines and websites to help get me inspired, but instead I am looking at the products on sale … hahaha.. I’m bad!

beverage standThe weather is so hot nowadays that I am literally feeling dehydrated all the time. It’s not helping that I am stuck at my chair doing coding work that sometimes I forget to drink causing me to lose my voice. Anyway, how awesome would it be if I got one of these galvanized beverage tubs. I could stock up with my favourite drink and put it by my side as I work. That way even A can monitor and top up for me in case I’m too lazy to walk to the kitchen.. lol!

I have said it once and I will say it again. I love the internet world. With internet connectivity, I am not only able to secure clients all over the world, I can  even  attend corporate meetings with the use of conferencing services facilities. It’s like I am in-house when in fact I am thousand of miles away and in a different time zone!

Simply awesome!

I miss myself!! lol …Seriously my time is not my own these days and I miss doing the things that I normally do like blogging, tweeting and facebooking. I spend so much time coding I swear my eyes have both gone screwy. My head is so pre-occupied with codes that I tend to forget basic things like bringing along both A’s and my riding helmets when we go out.. gosh I even forgot if I brush my teeth this morning… hahahhahaha..

Anyway.. Chromedbird is not working for me lately.. not sure why but I’ll figure it out once this project is over.  I guess it knows that I need to concentrate on work..

I was on the verge of logging out from my email account and retiring for the night when I got an urgent email from my US client. It seems her web-hosting company had suspended her account and her website has lost all images!

I instantly perked up again and over the next seven hours or so, set about to re-host all her images with another provider temporarily. If stress is any kind of fat burner, I think I lost 5kilos last night.. lol!…Her e-commerce site is up again for now but I am worried that the temporary image hosting site might suspend the account due to excessive use of bandwidth.

Now I am looking for an image hosting plan that is economical, reliable and most of all considerate enough to not just shut down an account without warning! The reason for the suspension was:

Suspension Reason: Using service for file hosting purposes

I have never heard of such a thing. Have you? Here’s the scenario:

exhausted1. Client is publishing own domain (client.com) site with an ecommerce site

2. Client has another web-hosting with another provider with another domain name (client2.com)

3. Client host banner images at client2.com, grabbed link and publish at client.com

4. Web hosting company suspend client after 4months use and till now still no response to client’s email

5. LJ lost sleep last night :(

Anyway, my question is this.. anyone knows of any good hosting provider that provides image hosting. I am now only understanding that web hosting and image hosting are two separate things :(
